ramona and xochitl salamanca. two sisters, born just a year or so apart, born on the outskirts of a bloody legacy that one rejected and the other fought for her place in. xochitl doesn't understand why ramona doesn't seek more, doesn't reach her hands out and grasp what she could have, while ramona doesn't understand why xochitl, even after nearly being assassinated for making her move, doesn't look around and realize that this, this cycle of battling for territory and respect and power and even the smallest possible advantage over your enemies, won't actually ever end unless she chooses to draw herself out of it. all xochitl wants is something she can't name. all ramona wants is her sister.
