rewatched heated rivalry episodes 4-6 today and god this show is just so good. i’m on the ace spectrum and i simply don’t enjoy watching sex scenes so honestly i didn’t really like the first two episodes, i felt like i was wasting time on something that is clearly not for me. im so glad i stuck around tho. what a beautiful, beautiful show.

it just feels so real. when shane comes out to ilya and asks him if he would want to be with him if they could do that safely and ilya just refuses to answer the question. he keeps saying but they can’t. that we wouldn’t be able to go home. he can’t even answer the question because he can’t even imagine a world where he can exist safely.

when they see skip kiss on live television and have hope for their future for the first time.

when shane comes out to his mom and he tries to reassure her that he tried not to be like this. when he can’t look her in the eyes because he’s so ashamed.

what a beautiful beautiful show. reminded me of how far we’ve come and of how far we’ve got to go.

s4 mike is so baffling now. because if the duffers confirmed that ep7 is when mike realised will likes him + mike never liked him back, then what does the airport scene mean? what about “we’re friends. we’re. friends.”? what about when they’re burying the government guy and mike looks over at will then quickly looks away when he realises will was staring at him?

to me there were only 2 possible reads on this:

1. mike has realised that he has feelings for will (i believe this happened at the end of s3) but he does not want to confront his queerness so he’s shutting will out, actively putting more distance between them.

2. mike knows will is gay (has known since at least s3) and knows he likes mike. mike is uncomfortable with that which is why he’s again, putting distance between them.

if it’s neither, than what the fuck is this? actually i would love it if some milevens explained their understanding of these moments because really it just doesn’t make sense anymore.
