Renji always shows his teeth when he smiles. He smirks a lot too when he’s teasing. He has dimples, and nice straight teeth. When he’s happy, you definitely know it.
He doesn’t smile often, but when Ichigo does, it’s small and kind, and is usually meant as a comfort to another person. His eyes soften, and his brows relax.
Renji’s a lieutenant now, so he’s gotta’ be professional, but he spent a long time in Division Eleven, so he knows how to make himself heard and how to pick a fight. Even his regular voice carries, because he’s kind of loud. He’s a talkative dude, and shouts when he’s excited just as much as he does when he’s mad. He’s got a deep and very distinctive voice.
It seems like Ichigo yells a lot, but that’s only because he doesn’t really talk a lot otherwise. He shouts when he’s irritated, often when his dad is acting silly, or when his friends are teasing him. He’s rarely actually mad when he shouts.
Renji has a massive inferiority complex and tries to hide the fact that he constantly feels not good enough for the ones he loves. He lowkey hates himself, feels like a tramp. The goals he sets for himself are often unachievable and he exhausts himself trying to reach them. Even though he’s popular and has lots of friends, he’s often lonely, worries he’s going to die alone.
Ichigo doesn’t show his emotion and hides his sadness to keep from burdening the ones he cares about. He pushes others away and deals with his problems alone. His biggest fear is not being strong enough to keep the ones he loves safe.
Renji is a very bold loud hotheaded person, but is also very kind, and always makes others feel accepted. He’s friends with over half of Seireitei. He also has the mental fortitude to keep going even when his heart is broken. He is resilient, and can bear through a lot of emotional pain.
Ichigo is a punk and kind of a grumpy person, but he is always there to help those in need, especially children. He’s also incredibly brave, and very giving.
Renji loves to have a good time and loves being with others, so it’s not uncommon to hear him laugh. It’s loud and rich in a crowd, but if he’s with one friend and something’s really funny, or if he’s drunk, he giggles.
If you’ve surprised him with something funny, Ichigo’s laugh bursts out, high and uncontrolled - it’s usually at someone’s expense, like if a friend has done something stupid. He doesn’t laugh with his voice much otherwise, but sometimes it’s possible to get a snort out of him.
Renji can be a loud cryer when he's upset. It's almost always related to loved ones or not feeling good enough for those loved ones. Most of the time when something really shitty happens, he ends up quietly crying later in private, but if he snaps, it's a total mess. Usually if he gets like that, it was during a moment where tempers were running high and he was already yelling and then just keeps yelling through the tears. Sobbing and gritting the teeth, lots of digging his hands into his hair and wiping the eyes and nose. Probably paces when he cries or sits on his bed. He won't ask for comfort in those times, but desperately wants it.
Ichigo was a crybaby when he was little, but now it happens next to never. There is no situation bad enough that will bring him to tears. In fact, the worse the tragedy he suffers, the less likely he is to cry, because he closes up. He copes with sadness and hardship through emptiness or anger. If it were to happen, it would be in a moment of absolute desperation or hopelessness. Quiet sobs and sniffling with shaking shoulders, or complete numbed silence while the tears drip. Never in front of anyone.
Renji heats up when he sleeps and usually ends up sticking one leg out of the blankets. He's tall so when he stretches out fully he’s too big. He also changes positions a lot during the night to stay comfortable. He likes to hug a body pillow sometimes, or whoever might be next to him.
Ichigo is a stiff sleeper. He lies on his back with his arms at his sides, and doesn't move much. He's a light sleeper and grinds his teeth, and has vivid dreams. It takes him a while to learn to share a bed, but he eventually starts sleeping better because of it.
Renji kisses with his whole body, gets up close and uses his hands. He’s enthusiastic and often hums and smiles into it. If it starts to get heavy, he likes to break away and suck at their ear or neck, pull some hair a little bit and suck on their tongue. He keeps them in his arms, hugging them so he can feel them breathe. He likes to kiss, so he does it whenever he can.
Ichigo feels silly initiating physical contact, and usually waits to be kissed first. He’s slow about it, eyes closed, concentrating. He’s kind of reserved, so he often avoids being kissed, but that doesn’t mean he dislikes it - he finds it hard to openly accept affection, and needs to be coaxed. Once he relaxes, he really gets into it.
Renji is experienced, and enjoys giving pleasure (especially oral) as much as receiving it. He's very enthusiastic, appreciative, and makes sex fun. He's good at learning what people like quickly, after many past one night stands, but given a steady partner, the practice makes perfect. He's very fit, and has great stamina. Hard pressed to find a better lover.
Ichigo is not assertive in bed, and it takes him time to gain some confidence. He doesn't have body image issues, but hes a little modest, and prefers not to be lewd or to show himself off. He usually lets his partner take the lead and lets them do as they like. He waits to be told what to do, and when he is, he concentrates hard on that task. He participates and does his best, but he's unsure in his abilities, and goes along with his lover. Hes still working on his stamina and skills, but he learns fast. He won't say it, but he's very proud to be able to make his lover orgasm.
Renji falls in love fast and hard. He loves to make people laugh, and loves to flirt, but once he's got someone special, he’s devoted, and makes sure they know it. He's very loving, and likes to spend lots of time together. He's a fun boyfriend who comes up with lots of creative dates. He likes going out and showing off his baby, but chilling at home keeps him happy too. He can be a little insecure at times and worries about losing the one he loves, and in those times, he doesn’t know how to reach out, but he’ll never stop trying to win them back.
Ichigo sometimes finds it hard to say how he feels, and is sort of passive in a relationship, goes with the flow without making many special efforts, but he shows that he cares through kindness. He's protective, but not jealous or overbearing, and although he likes to put up a token protest at the idea of sappy dates or open acts of affection, he usually lets his sweetheart get their way in the end. He loves them, after all.
Renji might have been quite the prowler in his past, but he's got a big and lonely heart, and has always dreamed of finding the one. He would love to settle down. It probably takes him a while to reach that dream, because he's love-starved and deep down he feels unworthy, but once hes shown enough love and care, he'll feel brave enough to propose. He'll be a loyal and doting husband.
Ichigo takes things slow, and dates for a long time to get to know the one he loves before tying the knot, but once he does, it's forever. Hes a family guy, so marriage has always been a future plan, but it takes him a while to bother with proposing. As a married man, he is caring and devoted.
Renji likes to tease Ichigo and rile him up. Being with Ichigo is sometimes a struggle, because Renji is very passionate while Ichigo is more private and unwilling to be open. When they’re alone in Renji’s home, with some coaxing and teasing, he can get Ichigo to let down his walls and smile. He’s a cuddler, so he relentlessly tries to embrace Ichigo and get him to reciprocate (he usually suceeds). He likes to play with Ichigo and get him to relax. They don’t go out on many ‘dates’ but that’s mostly because they spend a ton of time together already. Renji makes a real effort to spend a lot of time with Ichigo and back him up in everything he does. He’s patient when it matters, and is there to encourage Ichigo in the bad moments. There’s moments when he feels guilty, and thinks he ought to set Ichigo free, but Ichigo’s always there to knock sense into him again. Ichigo changed his life, and he loves him fiercely. Renji’s going to stay by his side to the end.
Ichigo gets annoyed with Renji easily, but most of it’s for show. He’s probably one of the best friends Ichigo’s ever had. He would never tell him, but he admires Renji a lot, and thinks he’s pretty funny, even if he’s a bit of a dork at times. Once they’ve entered a relationship, he doesn’t change much. He acts as he always has around Renji, but when they’re apart, Ichigo’s thoughts wander, he feels uneasy, and glances around for him often. He’s in a better mood when the two of them are together, and though he doesn’t make overly romantic overtures the same way Renji does, he shows his feelings by taking care of Renji - feeding him some simple food, tending a wound, making sure he’s not alone when he’s feeling down. Hes still young, and is still learning how to show his love in a meaningful way. In arguments, he says stuff he doesn’t mean sometimes, but he wouldn’t trade Renji for anyone in the world. He feels strong with Renji at his back.
