I'm just now realizing that both Knives Out and Glass Onion have two halves; at the halfway point the truth is revealed, the lie is pulled apart to reveal what really happened, and then deception takes place on the part of the wronged party. Benoit doesn't solve the cases in these movies, he doesn't even put the killer behind bars in Glass Onion, he is simply a vehicle for the plot. We the audience follow him, as the real protagonists of these movies, Marta and Helen, these smart, undervalued, wronged women, slip under the radar and do the real crime solving. It's genius. We're all so focused on the flashy white guy with the strong accent and the famous name, who can let himself into any environment and see through everyone's lies and motives, that we pay no attention to the real heroes of these movies until all is revealed. Around the halfway point the real protagonists step forward, and however much Blanc may guide them, they're the real investigators and they're the ones who come out triumphant.

Knives Out and Glass Onion are remarkably similar once you break them down like this, and as someone who basically just wanted the sequel to be more of the same, Rian Johnson delivered in spades.

Also both movies said "fuck rich people" with their whole chests and I fucking respect that.
