killugon fic rec long post

So I told Sunny that I would eventually make her a rec list of all the killugon fics that I like so, here goes nothing. This is by no means a comprehensive list but it definitely has all of my favorites on it. 

the symbiosis between you and me by loveca mod note: A really beautiful and heartbreaking fic, that leads me to tears every time I read it. the author’s style is breathtaking, and I also recommend this fic when I want to destroy someone. 

this is not the end by utsu mod note: Beautiful prose with a very satisfying conclusion. The writing is so clear and beautiful that I could see everything clearly in my mind. 

like a growing up by balconys  mod note: This fic is really just a lot of fun. I really enjoyed reading this, and it feels like something that could slip into canon seamlessly. I adore it. 

The Predatory Wasp by silvercistern  mod note: My faaaaaavorite killugon fic. Absolute favorite. The story is so full of wonderful headcanons and characterization, wrapped with a wonderful tropey bow that doesn’t feel forced or out of place. I adore this fic, and would suggest the whole series, but the prequel only has one chapter so far. 

Skinny Jeans and Khaki by Gee_Writes mod note: Technically a series rather than just one fic, but I highly recommend every fic in this series. They’re all lovely little explorations and I adored every bit of this series. It’s a lot of fun. 

Do x Not x Drink by olivemeister mod note: It was really tough to try to decide which work of this author’s to showcase, but I ended up picking this one because it’s the one that I’ve reread the most. I’ve read all of their Hunter x Hunter fics, though, and enjoy them all. 

contact by buu mod note: A short little thing, but it’s a really interesting look into Killua’s thoughts about touching and is lovely in general. 

the five stages of yearning by spells mod note: This is a pretty little fic that broke my heart, but made me happy too. I really love how this fic is written especially, it’s so, so gorgeous. 

lights out by phollie mod note: Probably my favorite canon era killugon fic. It’s atmospheric and lovely and makes my heart hurt.

At this rate, we’ll be in Madison Square Garden in December.” In which five college students form a rock band, have debates about pop culture, eat grilled cheese, make good music, and kick some ass along the way. link: [x] mod note: i can honestly say this is one of my absolute favorite fics. it has some of the best characterization i’ve seen ever seen in fic; the author knows these characters, and made sure to get them right. i would assume the pacing is great as well, but i wouldn’t know because i read this novel length fic in one night because i couldn’t make myself stop. i would honestly recommend it to anyone that’s likes the 100, even if you don’t like the ships because they’re just background noise, the most important part of this fic is the friendship between the band members.

It's always a love story. link: [x] mod note: IT’S EVERYTHING I’VE EVER WANTED FROM THE 100 FIC. the author is so ride or die clarke stan and because of that she completely understands clarke. it’s well written clexa, bellamy/clarke as best friends, and is respectful to finn and finn/clarke (i’m so over fics where finn is an evil serial cheater). i just, really love this fic guys?? wow.

Warning for a hell of a lot of death.] link: [x] mod note: y'know, i try and quit glee and good fics like this just won't let me. i really like how this author writes the characters, especially rachel and santana. some hunger games AUs don't full capture the emotions behind the games, but this one does every single time.

Iwaoi Fic Rec Long Post

Making this for Jordan, because she asked, and because there are a lot of wonderful Iwaoi fics in this fandom that deserve to be recognized. Again the format's a bit different than usual but it's another long post!!

I Choose You by Trips H mod note: This fic is such a given. Soulmate AUs are wonderful, wonderful things, but I like how this one talks about choice and manages to make the emotion bleed through. 

to be first, to be best by kittebasu (chanyeol) mod note: What can I say about this fic that hasn't been said before? A fandom classic, and will probably be put on every iwaoi rec post from now until forever. 

as sure as breathing by erzi mod note: Every fic by erzi is amazing and I recommend all of them, but this one is definitely my favorite. They really get Oikawa and fit us nicely into his head, and I adore it. 

all I need by masi mod note: Absolutely adorable with great voice. This fic gave me the warm and fuzzies.  

we can do better than that by spaceburgers mod note: Roadtrip!!!! Absolutely wonderful roadtrip fic that kills me every time I read it (and I have reread it a bit.)

make a bet, keep a promise by raewrites  mod note: An extension of canon in the best way, fluffy goop in the best way, and long. A+

Oikawa Really is Amazing by stesumiyakmi  mod note: Hilarious, like laugh out loud funny. Poor, long suffering Iwa-chan. 

of bees and flowers and pipes and plumbers by clockworkmoon mod note: Handyman AU that made me laugh. Absolutely ridiculous read but so worth it. 

Aobajousai Iwaizumi Hajime Fanclub by mirrorneuron mod note: Everyone is in love with Iwaizumi and you can't blame them, is the gist of it. 100% canon and you can't persuade me otherwise.

Three's all she needed, but when Sasha meets a homeless, pregnant teen by the name of Mikasa, she can't turn her away. link: [x] mod note: i initially put off reading this until it finished, and now that i've read it, i'm glad i did. because i honestly could not stop reading it. i can't imagine waiting for a new chapter every week. it's just so intense and smart. i called the co mod of this blog at nearly every chapter, yelling about some new development. it's just such a brilliant fic, i can't imagine anyone not loving it.

title: Ready, Set author: momoriko fandom: Haikyuu!! site: AO3 wc: 14532 rating: M ships: Hinata Shouyou/Kageyama Tobio summary: Emails and phone-calls were a nice placeholder for a few months after they left; but, then, as much as they had tried— balancing emails between classes, calls during the weekends between study sessions and essays— things had began to trickle out. There hadn't been a fight— like Sugawara and Yachi had thought at one point— but was rather, simply, the distance taking it's toll. link: [x] mod note: Wow this fic is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm so sad that it hasn't gotten more attention. The writing is absolutely beautiful, while keeping everything in character. This is wistful and wonderful--I adore it so much.

Daisuga Fic Rec Long Post

A bit different from our usual format, but I've noticed a lot of Kagehina fic rec posts but not a lot of Daisuga ones?? So here's a relatively long list, without this blog's usual format but still a few recs. 

These are in no order, just as I find and remember them, but they're all fantastic. 

Hold Still by schiggy  mod note: Absolutely wonderful and in character smut. This one is also established relationship fluff, which is my favorite thing. 

stay the night by schiggy mod note: Again, really great and in character smut, that's somehow even more fluffy than the first. This one's more getting together, but it's still adorable and just leaves you warm inside. 

cold syrup and an excuse to see you by erzi mod note: This really isn't terrible romantic unless you look at it that way, but it's still so sweet. You can feel Daichi's feelings seeping out, and it's adorable. 

Daisuga Bakery AU by akitshi mod note: Just a teeny tiny drabble, but it really catches Daichi and Suga's voices and made me emotional, so I included it. 

Cherry Blossoms by Crollalanza  mod: Daisuga just being adorably awkward teenagers with teenage-y problems. I loved it. 

just tell me how to get straightforward by astroturfwars mod note: This might just be a drabble, but it's written beautifully.

Exception to the rule by Mysecretfanmoments mod note: A really cute (and not angsty--thank you) look at figuring out your sexuality and Daichi and Suga were absolutely adorable. 

i don't know you (but i want you all the more for that) by spaceburgers mod note: Three words: coffee shop AU!!!

Oh, Here We Go (Feel it in My Soul) by spatialsoloist mod note: Just really cute romcom situations and excellent characterization!! I really enjoyed how fun this was. 

You in the End by shingekinoboyfriends mod note: This is about as painful as anything on this post is going to get but holy crap does it hurt. Graduation angst, but done so well that my chest ached. 

the light stays on by isabee mod note: Veela!Suga and cute in character smut? Yes. I especially love Harry Potter AUs that don't have to do with Hogwarts, and this is one of those rare gems.

From the very first lines I fell in love with the author's characterization of Oikawa, and the rest is just as good. This is definitely one of the best Iwaoi fics that I've read.
