Agents of the Inquisition - Vague spoilers around 1.18 - "hold still" | possesssion | (impaled)
Damien’s hands are itching.
He knows it’s from the blood (her blood) drying. Knows that if he could force himself to look down, he’d see what a mess he was.
But he can’t look down (he’d see her there), it’s the one thing he isn’t fighting with every part of his exhausted will.
He looks ahead instead, searching, seeking his remaining friends.
They’d tried so hard to keep her from bleeding out, but the thing moving his body hadn’t given them time.
He feels the thick steel rod (blood soaked) fall from his hands, surplus to requirements – he doesn’t need weapons. He’s never needed weapons.
There are bloodstains on the wall (too easy, too obvious) and he wished he could believe he was being led into a trap as his legs kept walking him forwards.
Their two-sided assault (predictable) came on the other side of the door, but they were slowed; already burned, already exhausted.
The thing in him makes him coo: “Just hold still,” as it ducks and weaves him around the blows, straining and stretching his body in ways it shouldn’t move. He feels hot wet tearing beneath his skin, muscles giving way. It’s not even his voice, nothing of him remains except what’s trapped inside (screaming).
He wishes his body would just die. Just collapse out from under the demon wearing him, but he gets no such relief.
His hand is hot (burning hot) as it touches the Judge’s armoured chest, and his scream echoes in Damien’s head even as Solomon cuts into his back, jerking him but not moving that point of contact as the armour starts to glow with heat.
“Hold still,” he whispers again, as the Judge starts to buckle beneath his grasp, Solomon’s attack doing nothing to the demon puppeting Damien’s weak mortal form, digging for his spine but muscle and bone aren’t what’s holding him up anymore. “Shhh.”
