Here we pay tribute to them by posting pictures, quotes, random stories and anecdotes, and more, but most importantly, we focus on the incredible music created by Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, and Carl Palmer during their brief but flourishing decade together, as well as the music of their pre- and post-ELP bands.

ELP to be featured as this week's Root Salute Artist on WKLH's Rock 'n Roll Roots with Steve Palec

There is no official announcement on the site, but I heard on the radio today that ELP will be the featured Root Salute Artist this Sunday. Rock 'n Roll Roots is a radio show that is on from 9-noon central time on Sundays on WKLH in Milwaukee. This radio show has been on the air for many years and became a tradition of sorts for my family whenever my dad would make pancakes on Sunday mornings. Partly, thanks to this show, I gained a love for a wide variety of music within the classic rock genre. As the Root Salute Artist, the featured band will have interviews, songs you rarely hear on the radio, as well as some other tidbits. Early footage of ELP from what appears to be 1971. The language being spoken is definitely German (I understand a bit), but I'm not sure whether this was from German television or another German speaking country. It sounds like the narrator is speaking High German, though, so I'm going to take the educated guess that it's from German television. This footage is completely new to me, so enjoy!
