A day like today, 17 years ago, the person that inspires me to be strong in every possible way, decided to leave himself… I have been mad at him many times because of this, but not anymore. Not today. 

I never got to meet him, no, I never got to thank him for all the wonderful things I have learned through him and thanks to him, but he still has affected my life more than most people I do know. He has still proven me through his simple existence that it is okay to be compassionate, that it is okay to be sensitive, that it is okay to give yourself the permission to be free in every possible way and it is okay to give it all for other people to take, even if they don’t always appreciate it. Michael Hutchence gave the world many wonderful songs, many amazing concerts, many heart-melting videos, unbelievable poetry… but all of this came from the core of who he was and from his endlessly loving heart. Yes, I adore his music, but more than that I appreciate and love the man. Which is what I wish everyone would do, instead of using his image and his music to make more money. I never got to meet him, but I did manage to meet other ones who did and who told me nothing but wonders about him. I never got to meet him, but I did visited his grave this very year. I cleaned it and placed my ring there for a while, shown in the picture above. I also placed some purple irises for him, as well as a heart and a little star (Because all those stars that shine upon you will kiss you every night). 

Michael, you fool… You gave us so much and I really wish the world could give you back half as much as you left us. I honestly think you didn’t take your own life. Depression took it away from you. And that’s a concept society still needs to learn.

Thanks for giving me strength (through your music) to not give up on my own self when I was in the hospital. I still don’t forget that. That and many other things related to you that have marked my life. I never will. I love you curly head. 

And they could never tear us apart.

Hi Hutch fans! If you’re on FB please go to this group and write a testimonial on behalf of Michael and tell your story of what Michael & INXS means to you. We have until July 31, 2016 to submit letters to the Sydney city hall to have them consider a statue in honor of Michael. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of INXS as a group and the 20th of Michael’s passing. This is our chance to get this in on time & show them why Michael deserves this honor.
