Update

Just wanted to give you all a quick update of what I’ve been going through these past few months. I recently went through a Hip Arthroscopy (hip surgery) in November ‘14 to repair a tear that developed in my labrum. I learned about the injury in the summer of ’13 but unfortunately was unable to act on it before the 13-14 season started because of the minimal amount of time I had until Sochi. I, along with medical teams at the USOC and USS deemed it necessary to undergo this surgery so I could hopefully have a full recovery and return to competing in Short Track.

The surgery, performed by Dr. Philippon of The Steadman Clinic (Vail, CO) was successful and I am well on my way to a full recovery. A huge thank you to the USOC Sports Medicine and Strength+Conditioning staffs for getting me back on my feet sooner than expected. Also to the USS Medical Team / Strength+Conditioning / Comprehensive Physical Therapy staffs for their support through the process. 

I look forward to continuing my journey in the sport, and I thank you all so much for your continued support!
