The Wheel from the Bosch Tarot.
One of the most popular decks released this year, the Crystal Visions Tarot.
The Gay Tarot cards depict the lives of modern gay men.
In my humble opinion, the Mary El Tarot is one of the most exciting decks coming out next year. Such unique and beautiful imagery. That Death card! That Emperor! That Temperance! I'm swooning all over the place. You can check out all the cards on her website. Note: I don't think the text/borders pictured here are her final ones, so just check out the pictures! :)
Because someone asked...the Dollar Tree deck is in the kid's section, near the magic stuff. It's at most of them, I believe.
Also I'm posting this both as eye-candy for you guys and as a public service announcement of sorts. This neat little deck is available at Dollar Tree for...you guessed it, a dollar! I picked up a few copies, my local one has tons. I've seen a bunch of these flood ebay recently with 5$, 10$, 15$ pricetags and I'm just side-eyeing it. It's a cute little cheap deck, but don't get suckered into paying a lot for it! :)
I think I posted something from this a long time ago, but here are some more images from the very cool Prairie Tarot.
The Gill Tarot has some beautiful majors, but what I really love is its elegant and simple minors.
Badass 2 of Swords from the Silicon Dawn. One of my favorite cards from one of my favorite decks.
Ever wonder what the Rider Waite would look like on acid? Well, here's a guess. :P The Illuminated Tarot.
The Death card from the Zombie Tarot, due out next year. It's from the same creator as the Housewives Tarot.
Now here's a fun idea. Combine tarot readings with some bodywork when you use the Yoga Tarot. I don't have it, but I'd like to get it and try! Anyone out there used this one?
All these new decks are cool, but let's sprinkle in some Tarot history! Most people think of Tarot decks pre-Golden Dawn as not having illustrated pips, but the Sola Busca deck from the 1400s was the first deck with illustrated minors! When Pamela Coleman Smith created the iconic images for the Rider-Waite Smith deck, you can clearly see the influence of the Sola Busca deck. Look at those 3 of Swords! (SB on left, RWS on right) This is a really awesome deck, but unfortunately very difficult to find a copy of a reproduction. Lo Scarabeo put out one a few years ago, but their historical decks go OOP fast!
The Two of Cups from the Osho Zen Tarot.
Check out Barbara Moore’s Tarot Advent Calendar she put together this December! The cards are all from the Tarot of Durer, and she shuffled them and put the first 25 into the calendar.
You can check out Barbara’s Facebook here, its a great resource for tarot readers and enthusiasts. You can also see what card she pulls each day.
This is kind of the raddest idea ever.
The Moon from the Rumi Tarot.
