Just a few days ago I wrote these words in the inside cover of a new notebook (a funny little tradition of mine I started years ago in the hope that other people's wisdom would somehow bleed through the pages). So sad that Mr. Cohen has left us, but what a legacy, what powerful, often heartbreaking words; thank you. But seriously: can we give it a rest now 2016?!

I know I've been threatening you with new music for quite some time now, but I'm delighted to be able to tell you that my first 'proper' single will be released this Friday (17th June 2016 AD) via Beth Shalom Records. The song is called Doctors, Lawyers & Indian Chiefs (which some of you may be familiar with if you've seen me before) and was recorded at Strongroom Studios last year. It will be available to download on a pay-what-you-like basis for a limited time ahead of the release of my EP, Heterochromia. I'm so grateful to have worked with the very talented Kate Frances Lingard on the cover artwork, so feast your eyes on this cover until Friday!!
Nothing like a 5-hour delay to bring people together. It's quite a strange feeling really, a heady-rush of apoplectic-rage, swiftly followed by the unique guilt that often accompanies such paltry first-world problems. At least the bar's still open...

Every now and again, Perhaps only once or twice a generation. Someone incomparable, someone so triumphantly, fearlessly unique appears. Either through divine inspiration, or some burning other-worldly force, they mesmerise and confuse us. Such was the case with our latest heartbreaking loss. Androgynous, gyrating goblin king And warholian troubadour poet, the man's spirit knew no end. And for so many years we were entranced by music, movements and magic that we began to believe that he was immortal. But sadly, like all of us, from war poets to mythical star-men, his time had come. Thank you for your songs and your beautiful restless spirit and for proving that all (or at least most) mortal men are capable of miracles; especially if those miracles reach us through the radio. Rest in peace Mr. Jones, Mr. Bowie still has work to do.
Well it's been a fantastic and challenging year here at Fugitive HQ, so I think I owe you all a big thank you, as well as a new year roundup, so here goes: Thanks so much to everyone who came to a gig, bought a CD, streamed a track, and contributed in any way to this little musical journey of mine. Had an amazing day yesterday in the studio, and added some new flavours to the track. But an unexpected highlight came in the form of this sticker, found on the case of a lovely melodica. I'll be working hard over the coming weeks to finish the track and let you hear it, but in the meantime, enjoy the golf.
I recently recorded this acoustic version of a new(ish) song with my talented and eagle-eyed chums over at Trash Arts, who filmed my performance and edited out the unsightly parts. The song is called Like Pulling Teeth and I hope you like it!
