hi my name is ryn i'm she/her and this is my warhammer sideblog.
I use a lot of inline links, but I promise none of them are rickrolls. Not even on April Fool's Day. They may occasionally go to other songs, but only if it's relevant: the closest you will get to rickrolled on this blog is the Soup Hymn of the Ultramarines.
here's a guide to various terms I've come up with and will probably use a lot
here's my unreasonably thorough notes on Malcador's study from The End And The Death
go read about my OC, her name is Elia Althaine (primer on who she is and what's up with her) (tag for stuff about her)
I also now have a rp sideblog for Elia over at @althaineblog
also read my malcemps folder and get sad about them with me. please we need more malcemps shippers they're the most underrated doomed old men yaoi in the world i think
Top 10 Malcemps Being In Love Moments
I've made a lot of edits of the Warhammer logo, and requests are open for more. Feel free to request several at once, I have a template so it only takes me like 45 seconds to make one.
I also write sometimes. my writing tag is #rynscriptions
my original posts tag is #fujoriginals and my tag for posts i added stuff to is #in which i have things to add
I have an AU of the lovely lazywriter-artist's Yassified Emps AU where I just throw Elia into the mix and see what happens, my tag for that is #Yassified Emps AU But Elia Is There
I keep it on my main blog because it's technically not Warhammer, but I do have a collection of d3rking posts that make me think about an alternate Heresy AU where Malcador survives but the Emperor ascends into the Dark King, you can browse it here
Please feel free to:
@ me whenever, for whatever: if you did something with one of my ideas or edits, if you think i'd like a post, if you just want to say hi, whatever.
send me asks
spam like/reblog
like/reblog my posts no matter how old they are
ask me to tag something with a particular tag
etc.
I may post astartes/astartes from time to time, perhaps a little primarch/astartes if it's someone else's OCs, not anticipating I'll post primarch/primarch but who knows. All of that will be tagged as #astartes/astartes, #primarch/astartes, and #primarch/primarch respectively so block what you don't want to see.
My tag for NSFW or overly suggestive content is #whorehammer, I would ask that any minors please block it.
also. tts haters are welcome to interact if you wish but know that I am not among your number, tts was the reason I fell in love with Magnus the Red and I owe them for that. I don't post about tts often but you may wish to block #tts to avoid it when I do.
oh also if you're going to draw Erda don't draw a white woman with greyish "dark" skin. that's not her. it's not even that hard you just refuse to properly understand skin tones darker than the average genshin impact character. and don't even get me started on the fucking facial features
hello, warhammer 40k fan. you claim to dislike Erda because she is "poorly written." in front of you is a folder of every male warhammer character you like. you have two hours to prove with cited evidence that they are all literary masterpieces without flaw or the trapdoor under your feet will open and drop you into a pit of irritable tigers.
Believe it or not, he realllly like reptiles because the are the only guys who he can depend on to be his fwend
(The lizards name is Atty)
“Hey there little guy, be not afraid” Roentgen says as he adds a new reptile to his militia.
(The big ass reptile is called Juno)
collection of Roentgen A) beaming the meaning of what he is saying into Rötgen’s mind, B) accidentally irradiating an area after being pissed off (with totally non-psychic means), and C) totally not being a Psyker
He is just a normal Radstartes
trust
no psychic shit about him :) *I say whilst crossing my fingers*
i've recently seen a lot more people generalizing the horus heresy books as all bad and i just cannot agree with the sentiment because yes a lot of them suck ass but some of them are written by aaron dembski-bowden
I just adore Yvgeny, the little meow meow, and his dynamic with the characters sm so far, so of course I'm going to post more of the polycule stuff soon hopefully. Tbh it'd help more if I actually understood WH40k as a whole, but I'm slowly learning at least lol
And here's to my first post on this account 🥂have at it, you freaks and geeks 💖
And it doesn’t help when you have an old copy of a book, and don’t realize that the reprint got edited and altered in some new way so now you HAVE to reread it to actually be at least somewhat accurate with the lore.
just skip straight to the end and the death. surely you will not regret having your first warhammer novel be the end and the death. kind friend the end and the death wants to tell you a story about love and tragedy and the collapse of empires. no need to understand greater plot ramifications only malcador and the emperor tragic doomed love. read the rest later
What is his (and your for that matter(!!!)) opinions on the Emperor Blessed Ogrynkind?
And does Quincy have any retainers/right hands to help him in his duties?
I'm so glad you like Quincy!! As for his opinion on Ogryn: he loves them. He has a deep fondness for their simple minded loyalty and has endless patience for them. Here he is with one of the Ogryn, Cookie, in his regiment.
And Quincy has an assistant who isn't super keen on being his assistant, Miss Naali Reddy.
She's a sniper but he grabbed her to work with him. Also she's an awkward lesbian.
(everything within the post is not canon, and purely my creation. It may or may not get updated depending on whether or not I feel like it)
(AKA : this is a chapter I made up, they don’t actually exist in 40k)
"We are the dragons of the Emperor. The fire we carry is given to rescue the innocent and smolder His enemies, it will do you good to remember that."

Chapter mutations (Effected, severity) :
Multi-Lung. Extreme mutations occur to this organ, Unlike normal biology of space astartess, the Multi-Lung exhales pure promethium, and a flint-like stone just about the Laryxn sparks. This blesses the astartes of the Fire-Tounges with the ability to breathe fire.
Typical problems include :
astartes typically show signs of black lung at around the 200 year mark, though the side effects from the black lung are almost minute besides from a cough. The most prominent feature of the black lung in the affected astartes is the constant involuntary spewing of smoke.
Smoke. the Astartes may have a miss-fire so to say, where the promethium is heated internally to a point that instead of immediately catching flame it becomes smoke. This smoke is deadly to everyone who may have the misfortune of inhaling it.
Enraged flame. when an Astartes of the Fire-Tounges gets exceptionally angered, it may light on fire. Over heating from the skin-membrane caused from the general excess promethium coating a astartes will end with them catching fire and stay on fire until they calm down.
Promethium suffocation. The Battleships (and generally any confined spaces with a Fire Tounge) will quickly become mostly promethium if without the proper ventilation. This is why there are so many air filters aboard Token of the Fallen and The Obsidian's Grace.
Beltchers gland. Minor mutations occur to this organ, astartes will spit out an acidic substance that is closer to magma than the acid it is supposed to be.
Typical problems include:
When in use, astartes may experience a melting jaw and/or loss of tounge
Scaled skin. Extreme mutation. It renders the once-human skin to be covered in charcoal black scale-like structures, the actual skin between the scales is said to look like molten iron.
Typical problems include:
overheating and catching fire. The scales are thought to have appeared to keep the skin of the astartes from burning by simply letting the flames fester on the outside.
The scales shed at times, so every so often there will be a astartes with a bare patch of skin and he will look like he's melting from the inside out.
Third heart. Extreme mutation. Give to just those who become Fire guards, the third heart is, as its name suggests, a third heart that is implanted with the other two during the Neophyte phase.
Unlike a normal heart, the third heart does not start beating until the Astartes wills it to. Once it starts beating, it will not stop beating until the Astartes either dies, or gets the organ removed. It is not needed, and the removal will not harm the Astartes much.
Once activated, the Astartes will be boosted with unfathomable energy that transmits directly into heat. This heat will then set the promethium on fire, and turns the Astartes to a flaming ball of energized rage.
Notable Astartes
"Your mind may be sane and your body fit, but your scales are never as impenetrable as you would hope. While fire and the molten blood of planets may wash over you like water, the weapon of the enemy cuts deeper than you would ever realize until it is too late. Do not underestimate them because you think them inferior, all enemies are as dangerous as we are until proven otherwise."
- Veteran Brother Larik Alus talking to an injured battle brother before his (Thd injured's) eventual death at the hands of a Tyranid swarm, 0.160.994.M38.
(Chapter Master) The Drake : Ignis Veru
Chief Apothecary : Draculi Ultionem
Chief Librarian : Cineres Mons Multorum
6th company, 2nd squad; Fire guard veteran : Larik Alus
10th Company Captain; Battleline : Shale Vulnus
"Not enough you say? There is not a ruling to say where someone has suffered and another person has not. And damned be anyone who says that! One who has been burnt cannot point to the refugee and say they have not suffered enough because they are not warped by fire. One who has been wounded cannot scream at the uninjured because they came out 'fine' because their body is not cut even if the wounds they carry lay deep within them. One who has been a soldier cannot point into a crowd and say they have not suffered because they have not seen the suffering with their own eyes. So you cannot say they have not suffered enough! You cannot know if they have, and you are unable to! But you must believe them, lest you forgot what you stand for!"

(Various snippets)
The term "to earn you teeth and horns" originates from a practice started on the world Drake, where when an Astartes did something deserving of honor (saving countless lives, or winning a battle) the would receive the teeth and/or horns of one of the draconic creatures that lived on Drake. This practice has continued into the present day.
Those with larger horns and teeth (in both quantity and size) are held in very high respect, because it means they have done something exemplary.
Teeth are typically worn along the line where the bevor connects to the chest plate. Horns are typically worn on the power pack, or shoulders.
The Drakes (the chapter masters) of the Fire-Tongues wear a traditional head adornment consisting of the lower jaw and horns of an old dragon from Drake. This has been manipulated to fit under their helm if need be.
When sleeping, Fire-Tongue Astartes tend to sleep in piles amongst one another. They do not overheat while doing this, and find it enjoyable.
Those who sleep alone (Fire-Tongue or not) are always invited to join to piles, and in common situations, will be piled upon either way.
"The fires of hell are upon us. They come in purple-black armor, and eyes as red as the ighnited char. No one shall survive."
- Intercepted Aeldari communication. 9.M40
Special Units
Fire guard. A squad of Fire guard is found within each company, and all members have been trained for their role since they became Neophytes. Unlike their brothers, they have the special geneseed organ known as the "Third Heart" or less formally known as: the "Core of Drake".
Squads of Fire guards contain 5 Astartes, not including the Sergeant and lieutenant.
As Aspirants, the one who exhibit the most calm and down-to-earth attitude are chosen to be Fire guard to combat the rageful hell that the future Astartes will go through when they activate the third heart.
Astartes who activate the third heart and do not get it remove are communally reffered to as "Cinder marines". 9 out of 10 Astartes will not survive keeping their third heart after activation.
Those who get their third heart removed will be moved to being a battleline, unless the Astartes is a sergeant or lieutenant. Sergeants and lieutenants are always kept with their squads because Fire guards tend to not listen to anyone but other Fire guards.
