     his cheery voice and the slightest of gestures bring a grin to lorna’s face.  she’s never seen someone so pleased with her,  and enthusiasm is seldom found in her peers to this extent.   it feels so completely refreshing to converse with jason, of all their friends,  ❝  i could walk home with you if you like, ❞    the stroll home past the empty vastness of the football field and the overgrown sidewalks are always made far less boring with a companion.   ❝ auntie tends not to mind,  as long as i’m home before dark. ❞

    jason could never articulate how happy it made him to see his friends happy.  he knew it wasn’t their usual forte to show their joy, but he liked to try anyway.  &&. seeing lorna smile from their conversation was sure to brighten to rest of his day.  at this rate he would be excited all day !   “ that would be perfect !!!  my nanna won’t mind having a guest !! ”   he always tried to find someone to walk home with,  &&. walking home with lorna was an offer he couldn’t refuse.  “ no problem-o !!  i can walk you home before it gets dark !! ”

|| ❀  ~*MY NEW COUNTY FAIR BUDDY*~ !!!!!  ❀

                                         HE DIDN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS HAPPENING, but he really needed to recollect himself as soon as possible. who was possibly this bold? it was certainly high above human capabilities, and it seemed that morty had been unlucky enough to be singled out by the most SURREAL alien he had ever met. the boy regained himself, forcing his mind to return back to its top capabilities. he needed to leave.

          unfortunately, the unknown alien decided to say something else that shook him to his core.     ❛  C- COUNTRY FAIR? ❜  that was an impossibly quaint and pleasant invitation so out of the blue that the boy was,ge ONCE AGAIN, stunned into a stupor.        ❛ i- gahguk aaaahhhh ━    ah guess? i- i guess? ❜

                              the  county fair  was only around for a  SHORT  time  &&.  he was more than THRILLED to be going to it with his new friend !!!   truthfully, he had already visited the fair twice since it had begun,  but it was going to be even more FUN with a great friend by his side to keep him company.  &&. he could just tell that his friend was excited too considering how  SURPRISED  &&.  SPEECHLESS  he seemed to jason !!!  why else would he take such a long pause  &&.  make such odd noises afterwards ?  HAPPINESS !! 

                 at the answer to his invitation,  jason perked up even more !!  his grin was wider than ever  &&. he was already bouncing on his heels from pure joy.   “ yep !!!  the county fair is the best thing ever around here !!!  i’m so happy you’re gonna come with me !!!  i know you’ll just  LOVE  it !!!  ”

|| ❀  ~*MY WITCHES GATHERING BUDDY*~ !!!!!  ❀

        “ you probably do, he seems to have made more friends here in town for once instead of sticking to his video games. name’s mike– probably close to my height– he’s around here somewhere—”

         a quick glance around was soon to reveal her brother talking to a few others about video games, though they all seemed to be moving towards herself and jason as the seconds passed. only a few seconds of eye contact with her brother gave her the answer she needed before responding again. jan didn’t really have any friends in town her own age, but she’d had freshmen as friends at her old school, what harm did it really do to have it happen again here, too? especially at halloween when she didn’t want to be stuck alone anywhere?

                  “yeah, sure, why not.”

          “  wow !!!  you’re mike’s sister ?!  i should’ve figured,  i can see the resemblance !  of course i know mike,  i always try to make friends with the new kids in the neighborhood !!  he’s really cool !!  though i’m not much into video games so i trust my other friends to entertain him more.  i doubt he’d really want another conversation on pacman, haha. ” 

             jason followed her gaze to look toward mike.  he didn’t know some of the kids mike was friends with very well,  but he was very familiar with the bluebird costume clad julie !  she was part of his normal circle of friends and an avid video game fan, giving him the perfect excuse to talk to mike whenever those two groups met.  &&. it was always exciting to meet the family of his friends !!  noticing that mike  &&. co. were making their way nearer to them, jason raised his hand  &&. tried calling them over to see if they wanted to walk with jason, too !! 

       “  ahh yay !!!  i’m sure you’ll have loads of fun !!  we’re gonna be telling ghost stories  &&. jokes  &&. we’ll have plenty of juice tonight !!!   ”

‘    Like  I  care    !    No  one  wants  to  know  anything  about  your  lame,    boring  story.    ’    Intrigue  seals  her  lips  and  scathing  remark  goes  unheard.    She  shouldn’t  care    !    Should  she    ?    Arms  cross  defensively  over  her  chest  yet  eyes  are  alight  with  unbridled  curiousity.    The  guy  with  the  axe    ?   Horror  is  not  her  forte  but  she  can’t  help  herself.    Who  was  he    ?    What  had  he  done    ?    What  if  everyone  other  than  her  knew  this  story    ?    Silence  fills  their  conversation  before  Chloé  shifts.    Gaze  darts  to  carefully  inspect  manicured  nails  but  her  body  is  turned,    angled,    slightly,    in  order  to  pay  more  attention.    “    I’m  leaving  if  you  bore  me.    Don’t  think  Daddy  can’t  have  the  limo  here  straight  away  if  I  ask  for  it.    ”   It’s  as  much  of  an  approval  as  he  could  possibly  receive  from  her.

             “  Oh,  gosh I didn’t know people were that bored by my stories !  You don’t have to listen if you don’t want to !!   ”   This was a first for him.  People had treated him rudely before, but never over his stories.  All of his friends always seemed so excited to gather around on Halloween  &&. listen to his new horror stories.  They always laughed  &&. showed their surprise  &&. let him know about every other reaction of theirs.  &&. he had always thought that they were pretty good himself !!  But he hadn’t thought that not everyone liked horror stories,  &&. maybe that was why his was rejected so outright now !  In hindsight, he really should be more interested in other people’s tastes.  He pulled his shoulders in slightly  &&. glanced down,  concerned over this matter ---  only to shift up again  &&. offer her a new smile at her final say on the matter.  “  I won’t !!!  I promise !  I’ll make this the best Halloween story you’ve ever heard !!  I’d hate for you to go home early just because my story bored you !!  ”

Jason did Wirt and Greg told you about their adventure into a super scary forest called The Unknown?

              “  well, i overheard a bit from greg when he was telling us about it in the hospital back on halloween.  but, it was just that one time  &&. wirt doesn’t really talk about that sorta stuff to me so,  i don’t know that much about it.  just the name  &&. some odd stories !!  but that’s a-okay with me !!!  wirt  &&. greg are really cool regardless !!!   ”

Enter Preston running up to his cousin, a smile on his face and a spring in his step. ❝ Happy Fourth of July, Jason!!!!! ❞ He was pretty excited! This meant he could finally brush off that red, white and blue ruff; it was now gracing his neck instead of the normal yellow one! ❝ I got SPARKLERS for us to use tonight!!!! ❞

                                    “  HAPPY FOURTH,  PRES  !!!!   you’re  THE BEST !!!   i’m so excited for tonight,  my gosh !!!  &&. you look so  C O O L  today !!!  ” 

                           with wide eyes he admires preston’s themed ruffle before noticing the word of  SPARKLERS.  now that news has him laughing in excitement,  hands raised to hide a rather too excited grin.  it was no secret that jason was an avid fan of any type of firework !!!

people who put video tutorials online for literally everything are the backbone of this society i would be nowhere without the comfort that whenever i don’t know how to do something painfully simple i can look it up like i bet i could look up ‘how to preheat the oven’ and there’d be endless videos and i never have to look like a complete idiot again. thank you all for saving my life

|| ❀  ~*MY STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE BUDDY*~ !!!!!  ❀

          he was super uncomfortable.  super uncomfortable.  he didn’t have friends and he certainly didn’t want his only friend to be this character. the offer was only spawned from SHOCK and the lack of understanding of the situation. but perhaps if he did give this stranger a strawberry, he would be sooner left alone to his own devices.   reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small plastic bag containing a couple red strawberries, sitting in drops of leftover juice. 

          ❛  here. you-  you can take one?  ❜

                             with great  ENTHUSIASM  jason reached into the bag  &&. selected one of the strawberries.  this was easily one of the best moments of his life !!!  how many people would be so generous  &&. halt their day to talk to a STRANGER ?  jason hoped it was a lot,  but he appreciated the gesture all the same.  he appreciated it enough for a  BRILLIANT  idea to come to mind  &&. excite jason even further.  he bit into his strawberry  &&. hummed merrily before posing his amazing idea.

              “  thank you !!!   you should take one for yourself, stranger !!!  oh, by the way,  my name is JASON FUNDERBERKER.  &&. you can call me that or jason or funderberker !!!  now that we got that out of the way, i have a very important question to ask you.  see, the  COUNTY FAIR   is in town right now  &&. i was wondering if you would like to come with me !!!  it would be so much fun,  i promise !!!  ”

|| ❀  ~*MY SUPER NEW FRIEND*~ !!!!!  ❀

                 saitama is a little bit taken aback by the flattery.  it isn’t often that anybody comments on his outfit at all,  much less with such enthusiasm.   saitama  is  legitimately proud of the suit,   though,  so he’s happy to talk about it   ( although it doesn’t occur to him that the kid thinks that it’s a  halloween costume,  rather than his actual hero suit. )

                  “thanks  —  but,  uh,  actually,  an  old friend  designed the suit for me.”  since then,  the suit has been torn and ruined on so many occasions that saitama had to basically remake the entire thing,  but the design is still utterly true to the draper’s original masterpiece.  

                 jason takes a few tentative steps forward to look at the costume closer.  it surely won over his suit in terms of aesthetic  &&. poise.  and gosh,  nothing was cooler than a cape. the whole ensemble was effortlessly praiseworthy.  how could it not be ? 

                    “ oh ?  well don’t worry.  if anyone asks i’ll tell them you were the designer. ”  his intentions were in the best of places, really.  accompanying his words was a wink to make that point even clearer.  “ i know for a fact that you would win any costume contest if you ever wanted to enter !  i might even be able to put in a good word for you.  i wish i had such an amazing costume to wear,  but i’m not that great at those sort of costumes  &&. the only person i know that is doesn’t like to be bothered much. ”

             ❝ that’s wonderful, jason, ❞  and she’s glad it worked; chuckling from amusement and relief that her advice yielded results.  amateur pseudo-witchcraft and botany, while her strong suits, were not always so perfect when it came to the methods she used, herself, to cultivate her own springlings and sprouts.   ❝ i’m sure a morning glory’s trumpet isn’t the only thing to thank, you must be so proud to have a thriving garden, ❞  lorna extends her praises.  ❝ perhaps i really should see it ! ❞

                                                                       “ yep !!!  &&. it’s all thanks to you !! ”   while he had been helping tend to his nanna’s garden for years,  it was only after meeting lorna that he was able to branch out  &&. further liven it up.  purple pansies had finally been stepped up to his reaching morning glory,  a flower that made his garden more vibrant than ever.  how could he not be eternally grateful to the person who had helped him accomplish so much ?   “ i’ve never been prouder of my quiet little garden!  it’s all bright with purples  &&. golds now !!  of course you should come  &&. see it !!  i have a garden bench out  &&. everything.  you can swing by  &&. see it after school sometime, if you want.  &&. if your auntie whispers would be okay with that, obviously !! ”

             he was SHOOK. simply shocked. stunned to a complete silence.  never in his life had someone ever possessed the gall to invade his personal space in such a brash manner. even less common was the offer of such an … irrelevant compliment? if it even was one.    unsure of how to respond, the boy simply sat there in an unseemly surprise, staring back at the stranger with a great uncertainty. 

                 ❛  d-                  did you want one? ❜

                   perceiving a  POSITIVE  vibe from the stranger,  jason left his hand on the boy’s shoulder.  some of his friends had been quick to push jason away,  but this boy was  so nice !!!  he even offered jason a strawberry for gosh sake !!!  usually he was the one giving away his food to friends, but now his compliment had gotten him an offer of a strawberry !!  he hadn’t expected to be the one cheered up when he went over.

             “  do i ?  of course !!!  that’s so nice of you to offer !  i bet all your friends love you !!!  ”

Jason any plans this Summer?

     “  well,  it depends on what day it is,  but yeah !!!  i have oodles  &&. oodles of plans !!!  like today,  all my family is coming over to my  &&. my nanna’s house for the fourth of july celebrations !  &&. in a couple of weeks we’re gonna do it again for christmas in july !!! i’m doing the cooking right now so everything is set up for when my family gets here !!  and a few weeks ago my nanna took me to the beach.  it’s pretty close to where we live so we got to spend all day there.  &&. i think sara mentioned going hiking a couple of times so i’m gonna go with her once her folks settle on the dates.  then near the end of the summer there’s gonna be  A BUNCH  of parties thrown by some of my friends at school, so i’m gonna go to all of those.  that way i can see wirt and sara and kathleen and everyone else again since most of them are busy before then.  you’re welcome to come along to the parties if you want !!!  i have all the dates written down on my calendar so i don’t forget !!!  

                                                                            but the  MOST IMPORTANT  thing i’m gonna be doing this summer is working on my garden  &&. writing new horror stories !!!  ”
