My thoughts on gender and its representation through people are that people are ridiculous on how they describe each other. I do understand the perspectives on both genders. I respect females opinions on males, but yet men take it as they are speaking on all of us. Both genders are use to jumping to conclusions. We shouldn’t be that way, we should always be equal i feel. There are differences of course, but neither gender should feel more dominant than the other. That’s where we all have it confused thinking one is better than another. I am curious to who made that theory for the world. Do you feel in this world we live in today, we could accept the fact of our society of genders being equal? My thoughts on it is no, because of certain people and their positions in life. You have to realize that our people today are selfish in their own way. If one male and female had to change places for a day, they wouldn’t be able to cooperate with their lifestyle. Their lifestyles would be difficult to work with just because of what gender they’d be. Each man and woman can do anything they put their minds to regardless of body requirements. At the end of the day we are still humans living together, striving for similar goals to live their lives. God made us different so people can experience a lot in this life but yet know we are the same. It hurts when people mistake certain type of work or activities to be completed by opposite genders. I like the simple facts that we have sports that can be played by both man and woman, and even have jobs such as acting, cooking, or government work that can play a role in either gender. Yet, there are illegal doings that shouldn’t be done by one gender to another that hurts them. Maybe thats a big reason why we are splitted up into separate sex’s so much for many situations. Violence plays a big role in genders through society today and has been for a long time. We live with it because apparently we’re supposed to. Soon when the time is right we will finally live the correct way as equal partners in our world. We will all notice that we were excited and thinking too hard on many things rather than being calm and not overthinking a lot.

Realistically, both genders having equality couldn't possibly happen in today's society. That is true. However, it isn't because people of today are selfish. People just have different opinions about this topic. For some it's because of the way they grew up. For some it's because of the double standards in society. For other, it can simply be the fact that they don't care to fix anything. The world society itself, has too much power. For some reason, society can start a trend that has such little of importance like having red hair during summers. But when it comes to bigger situations like gender equality, society just can't seem to make up their mind. That's because society is us...and we all have very loud and different perspectives.

Gender and identity are important topics in today's society. Every once in a while, or as often as everyday, some faces gender inequality. This goes back to what we discussed in class about double standards. In other words the roles that are expected in women, and the roles expected in men. For example women are thought of as having the job of a housewife. The typical cleaning and cooking. While on the other hand, men are though to work the hardest, and be the protector. Though times have changed, and you'll find a couple of both hardworking jobs. There still a lot of other stereotypes that are very much alive. For instance, if two girls hold hands it wouldn't be seen as gay because there's a good chance that they are bestfriend. However, if two men were to hold hands they would be through of as gay because society says that it looks gay. These double standards has a lot of effect on our lives. For some it may not be drastic but for others it may be. Because of a person's gender, one could be overlooked for getting the chance to have their dream job just because they aren't the dream gender. Why do you think nurses and teachers are mostly women, and presidents and doctors are mostly men. In terms of being able to get a job, genders matter. Identity is also important because they are a lot of people who suffer from depression because they don't know who they are. They aren't sure of what makes them happy or what they're passionate about. Identity is something that one must find. We don't grow up knowing who we are. Throughout the life we live, we find things that truely means the most to us. That's what identity is all about. Finding yourself. Sometimes it hard finding ourself, or for those who have already found ourself, it may be hard to share it with the world. Society can make it hard for someone to actually be themselves because of the standards that society holds. For example, although, in my perspective, our society has gotten a lot better with the LGBTQ community, there are other countries and culture where there society might still be closed minding with that subject. For one to be apart of that community and in a society that doesn't accept those sexual preferences, it may be harder for them to "come out the closet." Thus, not only are gender and identity important to society but society is important to gender and identity as well.

When I developed my work Before I started blogging I had to write out my on pieces of paper before typing them because I had a hard time typing out my responses straight from the head. Blogging every week has helped me be able to to read a prompt and type the ideas into the blog as I developed them on the spot. Even though we just did weekly blogs the writing still deserved proper structure and grammar. Blogging has helped me present my ideas and opinions about things to my audience without offending anyone. I usually am not one to want anything I write to be available for anyone to read unless it is for a class, so I feel blogging has made me comfortable with the idea of someone else reading something I wrote. It has also made me more open to criticism from others. If someone has come across my writing I like to know their opinion whether it is positive or negative. Following other people from our room is nice too because you get to see what they’re interested in and the topics they like to discuss and the different viewpoints everyone has.

The topics given every week to blog about made a good use for social media. It wasn’t nonsense that we could discuss. It either had to do with something we were discussing about in class that week, or we had free will to choose a few topics we wanted to discuss. Blogging every week gets you into a habit of writing, which makes better writers. One thing I could work on is my commitment to blogging every week. Making my blogs more “real” and personal is another thing I could work on. The audience likes realism. Having an audience to speak to is motivation itself because it’s almost like you always have someone there(a follower) to read/ listen(that’s the idea anyways, it doesn’t always work that way). Blogging has helped me practice formatting and citing whatever source that is needed. It has helped me develop my writing in a way where I have to be conscious that other people have the opportunity to read what I have to say, so I choose my words in a way that I do not compose to the audience; I am simplifying providing insight on a topic and my overall opinion. Overall I did not totally dislike blogging.

It’s good to see that someone else feels as I do. I, too, don’t like for people to see what I write that’s why I stopped posting on social media. I do see now that blogging was only a way of helping us improve with our structure when writing, and how to express our creative thoughts in words. Having to write weekly blogs became difficult because of balancing out the work off all my classes. I tend to focus on the big assignments, forgetting that all assignments hold importance. Looking back now, getting involved with Tumblr, writing blogs…it was a learning experience.

In class I feel like we should have a general conversation about society’s changes. Because I feel after reading the 3 blogs I reposed they all talk about the various aspects of the views in society. The gender roles between men and woman, the finical instability, and how happiness can turn society against you. I feel like they all can tie into one category. When you think about it society can up stand the best of what people feel they have contributed to the growth of society. This all revolves around the critical changes in society. I feel like Society has shaped the way we look at things. People have become unaware that society has become your life, it consumes you and who you are. I feel this be beneficial because we all question and ideas on what society can be and how we can change it. This will give us a better view on what we are missing so far. Looking out from the general roles in society, you can spot out the difference between each role and it’s like a wear on your sleeve kind of thing. Watching TV and the producers take point society is interesting. Most shows seems to fall into the race aspect at times but it’s really more of the general problems we face every day. One of the biggest things we have to grow up in it. How can you grow up in something you don’t understand very well? You want to be able to know exactly what’s going on instead of finding out after it happens. Its common no to realize what’s going on in society because sometimes it won’t affect you personality but it does effect the behavior and actions of other people. Society sculpts itself around what we decided to make viral. It feeds off of what we change whether it’s our or the new dance craze. Society uses it to hold standards in which we must follow to fit in. I believe this would really help to start our next project. I feel like this would tie in making it easier for us to establish a great point. I also feel like most of the blogs have been about changes in society so it would be very fun and interesting to see the views and ideas other people have. This is also a great learning experience because we might find out something we never knew at all.

The basic mentality that society hold does consume our lives. We may not realize it but we follows society rules most of the times. If society says have gay guy bestfriend is cool, then we tend to find that gay guy bestfriend. But it isn't exactly because we want to fit in. It's because that's the way our lives work. This is really interesting because who is Society? In other words, who starts these trends that everyone tend to follow? The answer is everybody. Everyone plays a part in setting trends off. One person can give an idea and if majority of society agrees with it...then that's the thing...the trend is set. It's kinda cool how it works though isn't it? Only because there isn't just one person who's in charge...it's everyone.

finding yourself

Be original, be yourself, be the leader that I know you are. These are all quotes or sayings that I’ve heard in the past pertaining to how I should act, but how can I be myself if I haven’t completely figured out myself yet? How can I be a leader if no one’s taken the time to show me how to lead? Am I supposed to go through life making mistakes and wondering if things should’ve been done or should’ve been said a different way?. How am I, a young black man, that is walking through life hitting walls and being forced to climb them alone supposed to represent himself in a way that’s not hostile but also in a way that’s doesn’t come across as weak?

I think finding my true identity has been a hard task for me, but in a way what I’ve been through in my life so far, has definitely shaped who I will become in the future as a black male trying to beat the odds that were set against me. Being a young man in this world today I feel like the opportunities are endless. In since that I’ve been put in a situation to get a higher education and put in a different atmosphere to branch out and make new connections. My representation of myself should be one that comes across as a passionate dower who creates opportunities for himself. My representation should be different than the others around me not because I feel that I’m better than them, just simply because my dream are different than theirs. The places I want to go may not be the places they want to go.  I understand that I’m not just representing myself but I’m also representing my family and my race all in one, which makes it hard at times to not act on how I’m being looked at or treated.

I feel like it’s harder on females then it is males, simply because they aren’t viewed as equals. In the world we live in “the man” is technically speaking the one who works hard, and in my opinion that’s completely wrong and fucked up.

All in all this world is messed, but being yourself is something that doesn’t come with ease. Mistakes will be mad and learning how to address certain situations probably will be easier the second time around. Your representation and how you carry yourself does tell people a lot about how you are and in my opinion can get you further in life so be mindful of it.

After read this post, all I could think of is the paragraph where women and men equality is being discussed. Though that's not what the whole post was meant to be about, that topic will always be essential for me to talk about because I've experienced that gender inequality several times before. But it's not just the women getting treated unfairly. Men does as well. With certain things, we have more of an advantage of. For example, in the nursing field there more women than men. Why is that? Because women are more thought of to have the quality and fit the role of being a nurse. There's a lot of men who want to be a nurse but have a hard time getting it. Some may have to fight for situation such as that. And I guess it goes back to the main point of this post because it's up to those men to find themselves and see if things like that are worth fighting for.

Meals on Wheels

 Meals on Wheels America is the oldest and largest national organization supporting more than 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Established in 1974, it has provided funding, leadership, education and advocacy support, Meals on Wheels America empowers its local members to provide services to their communities.More than two million volunteers deliver the nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks. And those who are more ambulatory are fed at local community and senior centers

 President Donald Trump 2018 budget could slash some funding for a program that provides meals for the older. Programs across the country are serving fewer meals and are waiting to join Meals on Wheels because of how much it’s growing. Jenny Bertolette, that’s in the communicating and marketing team at Meals Wheels says “The Older Americans Act, as a function of the US Department of Health and Human Services, which is facing the specter of cuts itself, covers 35% of the costs for the visits, safety checks and meals that the local agencies dole out to 2.4 million senior citizens,” This is an issue if President Donald Trump cuts the budget for this organization. Even though 3% of the budget for Meals on Wheels’ national office comes from government grants. Each state allocates this funding differently, so it’s difficult to summarize the total impact on the nationwide network. For Example City meal on Wheels has 15,412 New Yorkers whose dedicated volunteers that delivers food and connect with the elderly people in the neighborhood.

 If President Donald Trump has a tight budget why cant he cut an Organization that doesn’t have involves elderly?

 How many Americans have a disability that counts on Meals on Wheels?

 If President Donald Trump cuts the budget, will Meals on Wheels ever overcome there lost?

 Has someone tried to put a stop to Donald trumps decision?

 How many veterans are meals on wheels feeding?

 Are Elderly citizens important to America Society?

 This is something that we should educate ourselves with because this is a current event issue. And that will impact many elderly Americans. Also the community service that the dedicated volunteers receive will get cut. Some of these elderly people are veterans that has served this country and fought for our safety and freedom.  What will happen to those that can’t walk and make their food, they just going to order food for rest of their life.

Before this post, I have never heard of an organization named “Meals on Wheels.” (I guess that says a lot about me and the lack of my knowledge with politics). Hearing about this organization for the first time, it seems very beneficial. I am completely aware that there are a lot of elderly people that struggle with taking care of themselves. Some may respond after reading this post to say that elderly people have families and friends who can take care of them. However, that isn’t always the case. The amount of stories I have heard about people and their families, and people that I know of, I know that sometimes…elderly people doesn’t always have someone to take care of them. This can be do to death of the children and partner, not having any family or friends, family and friends not wanting to help, and many more. For the elderly people that do have love ones to take care of them, they’re truly blessed. But for those that doesn’t, this organization is helping them tremendously. And as the blogger wrote…what about those elderly veterans who became disabled because they were in war…fighting for our freedom etc? These veterans put their life on the line for thousands of Americans that are strangers to them. The least we can do for them is give back. This organization is helping them, providing them with home cooked meals. It is important to keep this organization. If Donald Trump goes through with cutting this organization’s funds, and the organization isn’t able to maintain the good deed that their doing, isn’t that a problem? It is thought that as a republican the money is more important. However, as a president, the people and their needs is still what’s most important. I agree that Donald Trump needs to find another organization to cut funds from. One that doesn’t serve much importance. It is only right to because if this organization, Meals on Wheels, doesn’t have the ability to maintain their work, then thousands of these elderly people will have to struggle on their own. Think about it…what if you were all your grandma had. You cleaned, keep her company, and most of all provided home cooked meals for her to eat. Then you went off on a mandatory work trip for a month, and you left your grandma in the hands of this organization because you know their work is phenomenal. Then suddenly, they weren’t able to visit and feed your grandma anymore and she was left abandoned? Most wouldn’t like that. So maybe we should all come together & try to stop Trump from doing this because, as this blogger explains, it is important & it’s a current issue that most people hear about and just brush off.

Blogging was definitely a new activity that was introduced to me in this class. My very first post was lyrics to an old song, All Star by Smash mouth. After, I believe I posted a poem that I found online. In class, what was being discussed was the word count and how it work. To my understanding, if we posted anything, then did our blog, the amount of words we had to write for the blog of that week depended on how many words was in the previous post. My first blog resulted in a zero because the post were my words. I guess I've should've known what was meant by the discussion. However from since my first blog, I've learned that I need to just write 400 or more words because I don't regularly use Tumblr and I probably wasn't going to start. Over the semester I failed with keeping up with the blogs because my focus was on completing and doing a better jobs with the projects in this class. In terms of how my writing developed throughout my blogs. In my perspective, I didn't keep up with the blogs enough to really analyze that. Looking at the few that I did keep up with, I don't feel like the way I type or the way I address the audience is very different. The way I communicated with the audience has to be one of my main strengths. Blogs are assignments for the class, but that doesn't necessarily mean I have to talk as if I'm writing an eight to ten page informative essay. We're still using social media and in my perspective the point was to write in a way the audience can see how we're thinking and what we're thinking. It's to be more open to the idea being discussed with our classmates and in our class, while also developing different ways to write. I might continue working on other ways I might be able to connect with the audience in my writings. Things I've noticed in my blogs that I need to continue working though, is organizing my thoughts. Even though, this is social media and what is being post doesn't have to be written to it's perfection, I believe that organizing thoughts makes a writing more easier to write. The ideas being presented isn't just all of over the place, and being more organized with writing makes the main point easier to read and/or understand.

problem

I feel like one problem they we have today and that is continually getting worse and we have yet to really talk about it is fake social media information. Social media is used by all of us throughout the day. Most the information on social media is just from our friends and family. But there are other companies, fake pages etc. on social media. This causes a lot of spam and spread of false information. These pages are making memes that people share because they find it funny or relatable etc. But now days some peoples entire view on politics has nothing to do with the politician’s actual policies but the memes meaning. People hate trump because of these memes which are full of false information. People love Trump based off of false memes and information. The artist of these memes is creating a big problem by spreading all of this false information because we as a generation are buying into it. When you see a picture that says something have you ever fact checked it? Maybe we do this sometimes but do we fact check the things we see on social media enough? In my opinion, no. I am also guilty of this myself. I’m a fan of the show Shameless that just recently got popular. I recently shared a link that had a picture of the character “lip” and said he got into an argument with the producer and quit. I didn’t even bother to click onto the link itself to read more or see where this information is coming from. I didn’t fact check or make sure what I was reading was from a reputable, valuable, source. This isn’t really a huge problem when it’s about an actor. But I feel like there are many times where this could potentially be a he problem in the future for social media. Where eventually it’ll just be filled with so much nonsense and people will be lazy and buy into it. This could be pretty bad depending on what kind of information these memes and fake pages are putting out there. I think this is definitely a big problem that is getting worse and worse that nobody is really realizing that could potentially be even more harmful then it is now in the future. What do you think? I completely agree with this post. These fake pages that spreads false information on social media is a huge problem. I am one who feeds into the false information that I see online as well. For example, I didn't know much about the presidential debate, and because social media was convincing me to hate Trump, I did. Not all of the information on social media is false, but there's a lot of the information on social media that isn't completely accurate either. I hated Trump because they made it seem like he was about to kill those of color. They made him seem like another Hitler. When Trump was announced the next president, I had to watch all the presidential elections because I didn't understand what he possibly done to win the election. After watching all of the presidential debates, I realized that he isn't that bad. If you think about, Trump is being very beneficial to those who have money, as for he is a republican, and they care about the money. Thus they more care about helping the wealthy. We can't hate him because he's being beneficial to others. I'm not saying that I agree with all of his proposals, but everyone has a different perspective. If Hillary won, those that she isn't benefiting as much would hate her too, but in our eyes, we wouldn't understand why because her ideas are helping "everyone" even though it might just be those who struggle more. In my perspective, they were't the best candidates to pick from, but we can't go based on false information we see on social media. Those who gives in to social media tend to be those who are full of more ignorance for the simple fact that they are feeding into information they have no knowledge on. These fake pages or whoever spreads false information must be stopped because social media is a very powerful thing in today's society. It isn't doing any good for any of us if majority society strongly believes in something that isn't even accurate. I wouldn't know how to stop these pages from spreading false information because it seems like everyone has access to using the internet and having the ability to do what they feel too. But as this blogger said, a solution has to be found to this problem. Many people don't realize that it's an issue, but it is and it's getting worse everyday.

This week, there were a lot of topics presented that made me think about the perspective I have on it. The strongest advocacy project was the right of clean water. The presenter gave ample examples of how filthy water isn't good. For example, before we were able to have chlorine clean our pipes and water, the pipes that water would go through used to carry multiple diseases and led, which isn't good for our bodies. Especially those whom are pregnant or kids. It can kill us. It's common sense to know that everybody should be able to have access to fresh and clean water but not everybody has the opportunity. The presenter mentioned that we can test the water ourselves with pH paper to see if or water is clean and if it isn't writing a letter to the government would impact their lives greatly. She gave an example of a city that went through this which was Flint and how the letter of complaints changed a lot. This project was very strong because it informed us that we need to be aware of what may be going into our bodies. Just because we think it's common sense to m have the right of something that seems so simple doesn't mean that we actually do. Her project was strong because it informed us of an issue, a solution, and examples, while also keeping us aware of a serious situation that we seem to take for granted everyday. One of the advocacy projects that changed my perspective was how weed should be legalized. I didn't think so much upon the topic until it was presented. What caught my attention is when the presenter discussed how liquor and cigerettes are sold, and how those products puts us on our "death beds" but a harmless herb, weed, is illegal. The reason for that goes back to racism. To my understanding, it was research that made made the presenter discover that weed became illegal because there was a claim that those who used the drug(predominately African Americans), were going after white women. Now, there isn't factual evidence for me to assume that this was false information, but even if this were 100% true, what's really the point of making weed illegal? There is many people who are not of color that commits crime to those of color and they also consume a drug. They might be a cigerette smoker or an alcoholic...but those substances are still very legal. That is what made the topic strong. It's very interesting that something that I saw as so little, actually holds a more powerful significance.

Ever had a hobby that you thought you would pursue later on life? I did. I thought I would've worked on becoming a professional dancer like Misty Copeland. I used to love to dance...well, I still do. Unfortunately, I just don't dance as much as I used to. (It's funny because when I first started dancing, I hated it. I only danced because my mom forced me to...good thing she did. It brought out another side of me that I never really embraced). I started dancing when I was 10 years old. I did all types of dance. From Modern to Salsa...African to Tap...Ballet to Jazz. I practiced, rehearsed, and performed at least 11 types of dance within just the first 3 years as a dancer. Within those years, I've grown to love dance. It felt amazing to be able to do half of the things I was able to dance. Like when I was about 11 years old, I was able to do a split with my right AND left legs. (In other words, I had a split on both sides). Saying that now, is no big deal because splits aren't anything special compared to the other tricks in the dance world. However, back then it was a big deal because it made me feel capable of doing absolutely anything that came with dancing. I had both splits in just one year of dancing. Others usually practice basic things like that from the time they're 3 years old. That's why I kept doing it. I wanted to see all the obstacles dance might throw at me that I was capable to doing. I was 13 years old when I took dance into high school. The same way college has majors is the same way my high school has majors. Only difference was that my high school offered five performing art majors...which included dance, drama, art, vocal and instrumental. So I was a dance major at my high school. Which meant that I was dancing everyday. Freshman year, I thought that this is what I want to do. Dance was fun and...hard but fun because you had a family to get through the hard parts with. A family who understood how much work and technique and time dance took. However going further into high school, it made me realize like dance isn't what I want to pursue. Why? Well because, dance is very competitive. In all reality, everything in life is a competition. But I guess I didn't love dance as much as I thought I did to deal with the competition. It wasn't only about the competition, favoritism played a big part. To the point where even if you work your butt off and was clearly better than the usual people who go solos or the leads, you still wasn't going to get a solo or a leading part. And because of that...it didn't make dance fun for me anymore. It become like an unfair sport in my perspective. Thus, I didn't want to pursue dance as a career anymore.

As we all know February is coming to an end. I would like to show appreciation to those that aren't as appreciated as others for Black History Month. A person such as Marcus Garvey. A few or a good amount might know a lot about Marcus Garvey, but I'm just learning about him, so I would like to share for people who don't know much about him.z Marcus Garvey was born on August of 1887, in the famous island known as, Jamaica. He was a public speaker for the Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism movements. The Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism movements is an intellect movement that focuses on the bonds of African people. The movement encourages and wants to strengthen the bond because in their perspective, it is essential for the African people to be one...to be unified. This movement plays a part when it comes to Black History because it did not only fight for the rights of African American, it went more in depth with the belief that unity is important. Marcus Garvey participating in the Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism movements is very significant because it allowed him to find the Universal Negro Improvement Association. This association was "dedicated to racial pride, economic self-sufficiency, and the formation of an independent black nation in Africa."(https://www.britannica.com/topic/Universal-Negro-Improvement-Association). In other words, the association's purpose was kind of like what the Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism movement was for. It was to strength the African American race while also helping the black communities. He found the Universal Negro Improvement Association in Jamaica, the year of 1914. Later that year he visited a few black neighborhood, that was suffering from poverty, in Harlem in New York City. He had a thing for poor urban black neighborhoods. All he wanted to do was help black lives. The association was re-evaluated after he got deported back to Jamaica in 1917. (Those who would like to know why he got deported...it was because he was convicted of mail fraud). However, that did not stop him from working within the black communities. He just started working in another country, which was Africa. Marcus Garvey may not be known like Martin Luther King Junior or Rosa Parks but, he did do just as much as they did; he just did it in a different way. Marcus Garvey played a role just as them. He helped make the African American community stronger, more unified, and proudful of their race. And for that, he's well appreciated.

The article "Ain't I A Woman?" By Sojourner Truth, the main focus is on women and men's equality. She believes that women's ability and/or rights should be no different from the men's, and it isn't quite reasonable that men think their more superior or think that they are needed when it comes to women. Sojourner Truth explains that she's capable of doing what men do and gives a few examples. The examples that she gives helps her convince the audience that her perspective on women vs men are accurate. One example that she gives is "Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mudpuddles, or gives me any best place! And Ain't I a woman?" This is essential because as previously before these sentences, she states how men says that women need help with these exact things and she has proven them wrong because she's done it all by herself. Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman! Man had nothing to do with Him. If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone..." Now of course, for those who aren't religious, this wouldn't be considered evidence. It would be considered just a thought or something more into that area. But for those of us who are very religious and believes in this story, it's considered evidence. This is evidence that's women might just be on a higher level then men. [Logos]. The emotions that this article evokes from the audience are (possibly) anger and encouragement. I say anger because those who don't believe in God might feel a way because it was used to prove a point in the article. Also, small minded and ignorant men might feel a way because they aren't open minded to the idea of women being on the same or high level than them. The article evokes encouragement in women. It lets us know that we're capable of doing ANYTHING men do. We don't need men. For those that didn't feel this way, the words written in this article could impact their life greatly. Maybe they belittled themselves because they felt as though men were superior and in order to do certain things they need a male figure. Reading this article might just give them a little encouragement and I think a little more strength within themselves prove to society, back then and even a little now, that women are indeed just as powerful as men. To summarize the news article, "Doctors' Should Have the Right to Kill Unwanted or Disabled Babies at Birth as They Are Not A Real Persons' Claims Former Oxford Academic," by Fiona Macrae, she discusses a journal. Two authors, Dr Minerva and Alberta Giubilini wrote in the Journal of Medical Ethics. They voice their opinions saying that "after-birth abortion" should be allowed. In other words, If a mother finds out that her new born is disable, or whatever the case must be, they should have the right to kill the new born. They say how it's different from abortion because they didn't know the child was going to have a disability and if the mother feels as if they aren't able to care for the child and have enough money to support the child with their special needs, then the mother has a right to kill it. In the article, the author's tone might seem to come off as calm. All she's doing, really, is stating the facts of what was said in this journal. The audience responses to the journal are very negative. They don't seem to agree with the idea of "after-birth abortion," as Fiona Macrae explains. She quotes a lot of people's reactions to this journal. For example, after she stated the idea that was discussed in the journal, in the followed up paragraphs she says, "The doctor, a research associate at Oxford, has received death threats and hate calls telling her that she will 'burn in hell', and she said the last few days since publication have been 'the worst of my life'. This proves their opinions towards this topic came with very negative responses and it probably shouldn't have been said.

I never realized how stupid my friend and I were until this assignment. I was thinking about what to write because I have so many stories. Then I thought of this one, and thinking about what was said...we were being pretty stupid. Well, we weren’t being necessarily stupid but we used to say some pretty dumb things. So in high school, my friend and I never really liked to go to our gym class. (My friend’s name is Nia by the way). We never liked going to our gym class because we were dance majors at our school-we went to a performing arts high school. So being that we’re dance majors, we used to dance every single day. We danced on the weekends too because we danced outside of our high school. Point is, we just felt like participating in the gym class wasn’t that important for us dance majors since we did more than what the teachers had us doing in class. That resulted with us skipping the gym class a lot, sad to say…but i’m pretty sure everybody has skipped at least one class before. If you haven’t, good for you. Moving forward, one of the days we skipped the gym class, Nia and I were sitting in the hallway just talking, eating chips, having some good laughs. We start to talk about the upcoming Halloween; the costumes we wanted to wear, what party we were going to go to, if we would go to fright fest at six flags, and things like that. Then Nia goes, “Halloween was on Friday the 13th last year right?” and I respond with, “Yea I think so.”. For those who didn’t catch the joke….Halloween is never on the 13th! Halloween has only ever had one date, which is October 31st. It might not be funny to some, but picture you and one of your closest friends just talking and the both of you say that New Years is on January 2, and then y'all both realize what was said...Im sure it would end in pure laughter. It took us at least three to five minutes to realize what we said. There was no weed involved, no drinking, none of that. We were totally above the influence. As a matter of fact, we weren’t the type to do things like that so there isn’t really a reason as to why we thought for three to five minutes that Halloween was on October 13th. And that part, would always be the funniest part of this story…the fact that we were so serious about the mistake that was said.
