I just found your blog and I love your Oliver content! If you’re still doing fics could you do #18 “It’s late. Shouldn’t you be asleep?” Where Oliver is stressing over work related issues and MC has to coax him into bed? 💙💙💙
Thank you so much!!! And I looooove the way you think!💞
18. "It's late. Shouldn't you be asleep?"
It was nearing 11 at night when Eden woke up to a cold spot next to her, the room dark and lightly swaying with the movement of the boat. He had said that he would be coming to bed soon, but soon for him meant later for Eden, especially with his father pressuring him for results on the pirate issue that had plagued him. Her feet creaked the wood beneath her as she opened the door and made her way to the empty cabin across the deck, candlelight leaking out of the cracks of the closed door. Despite the ship being relatively old, the hinges stayed silent.
She elected to keep quiet when she walked over to him, his back turned to her and hunched over a map he was studying intently, marking possible routes and caves and islands just as he had been doing for days now.
"...possibly make a stop here for supplies..." he muttered, feet shifting to allow him to reveal another map that he began marking. She knew if she didn't stop this now, the sun would come up before he finally put his pencil down. As quietly as she could, she stepped over to where he stood and wrapped her arms around him, feeling the heat radiate from his torso through the thin linen of his shirt. She pressed her face into his back, counting out his slow heartbeat.
"It's late. Shouldn't you be asleep?" The words were muffled, but still understood.
"I have much work to do," he explained, but he wasn't as quick to make marks on his maps as he was when she first started watching him.
"But it's cold without you, my love." She pressed a small kiss to his spine and began to sway, humming a basic rhythm and gently forcing him to move with her. He gave a wry smile that she couldn't see and obliged her, turning around in her arms. "Will you come to bed?"
"But I--" She silenced him with a kiss and ran her fingers through his hair, softly detangling the locks.
"You're going to be too tired to work in the morning if you don't sleep now. This is important to you, but you can't let yourself get overworked." She tugged on his hand. "Come on."
