Final Post: MY GLORIOUS JOURNEY IS OVER!
Hey! I know you are sad, too. Iām writing the last page of my journey which youāve been reading since the beginning of the second term. ;) Letās begin!
Firstly, I want to reflect my opinions on one of my previous posts which is āTeaching with Technologyā. If you read it, you might remember my opinions on it. I am always a fan of integrating technology into teaching and will always be. Because I canāt think of a class without technology. I canāt even imagine it because we are in the 21st century and there are lots of technological materials that teachers can use. Almost all students are expert in technology today. They are frequently using tablets, laptops etc. and aware of whatās going on with the technological developments. As they are very familiar with the technology, it would be crazy not to use it in our classroom. I am pretty sure that students wonāt face any challenges if we integrate it into our lecture. It will even draw their attention more. So, itās very obvious that I feel the same about it. Nothing has changed.
I am really pleased to take this course. Because it broadened my vision of technology usage in the classroom. I got familiar with many new applications that I could use in my classroom. I am so grateful to Dr. Kurt. She inspired me a lot to use technology as often as possible.
I want to state my suggestions shortly. I think a group work which includes 8 people may be bothering. It is hard to decide on something with 8 people is challenging. What I mean is, I didnāt like the Padlet Project task. We were 8 in a group and it was the hardest task for me. We had communication problems and when we decided to gather to do the task, not all of us were able to come. Shortly, I didnāt enjoy that task. But I really enjoyed tasks which include maximum of 3 people. I had a lot of fun with my groupmates. I cried because of joy. We laughed a lot during the making process of Digital Story Telling. It is the funniest task we have had.It was a good journey. I am so happy about what I achieved and happy to complete this journey. Thank you Dr.Kurt for everything. We love you. :)

RSS Feed
Hi! I am about to finish my journey here. This post is second to last and it is about RSS Feed. In this post, I will basically talk about what it is, what RSS service I am using and I will add screenshots of my RSS reader showing the blogs I follow. Also, I will choose one specific blog and explain what it is about and why teachers should also follow that blog.
So, here we go! Letās begin!
What is RSS?
RSS actually stands for āreally simple syndication,ā in other words, ārich site summary.ā It influenced numerous internet tools which you know very well. Shortly, RSS includes numerous simple text files which have basic updated information ā news pieces, articles, etc. RSS provides facilitation to us to follow the news, posts and content which are published by blogs and podcasts.
What service am I using?
I am using the free version of dlvr.it service. I can follow only three blogs due to its limitations. Premium version requires money. As a student, it costs a lot if I buy it. So I am trying to manage with its free version.
So, for next I want to share the screenshots of the blogs that I follow. Here you can see them.
I want to introduce you to one of my favourite blogs. Its name is āLanguage Teaching Tipsā and the owner of that blog is Aysun GüneÅ who is also an English teacher. She also mentions about technology use in the classroom. She shares many useful experiences that we can get benefit from them. As she has been teaching English for over 12 years, she is a very qualified teacher and as a prospective English teacher, there are lots of things to learn from her. As prospective teachers, we should follow her blog, because it is very inspiring and interesting. CLICK for her blog!
Thatās all. Thank you.

For over a decade, the use of technology for education has been one of the main concerns of many teacher to keep themselves up-to-date for the needs of the new learning era. This is, of course, NOT a very easy thing for them to keep up with it, rather a challenge. It is no surpriseContinue reading "Teachers and Their Technology Use"

An Infographic About Web 2.0 Tools
Hey there! I am here with my new post which is about āAn Infographic About Web 2.0 Toolsā.
What to expect from this infographic?
It is mainly about four web 2.0 tools and when you click, you can see:
- What is it?
- The affordances of it
- The constraints of it
- Why should people use it?
I aimed to inform you about my four favourite web 2.0 tools. They are: āGrammarly, Teacher Planet, Edmodo and Skype.āĀ
To be honest, the most remarkable one for me is Grammarly. I always use it when I write an essay, a post etc.Ā
I want to talk about the preparation process of the infographic. It didnāt take a lot of time to complete the infographic but finding information to prepare the infographic was the hardest part.
I searched many sites to find something useful. In the end, I found some. I hope you will be satisfied with what I prepared.Ā
That is all I can say. Thank you for your attention. See you in the next post! Bye.

Digital Storytelling: āWhat goes around, comes around.ā
Hi, everyone. Todayās post is about Digital Storytelling. I worked with my 2 pairs and their names are Arzu and BüÅra. During the creating process of a digital story, firstly we brainstormed as a group and then we wrote a script for our story. Our story is giving a message about bullying. Its aim is to warn people about it and encourage them to stop bullying. The storyline is about a boy who is very naughty and who bullies the living creatures around him. But one day, he encounters a fairy and all of a sudden, everything changes. The fairy gives him a proper lesson and the boy gets the message:Ā āWhat goes around, comes around.ā While we were preparing the storyline, we changed lots of points. We were never satisfied. Because we are a very perfectionist group. We gathered at a class and rehearsed a little bit before recording our voices. My pair Arzu is the one who is responsible for the graphics. She is a genius. I liked what she managed so much. We used a mobile phone to record our voices and my other pair BüÅra read the whole story because she has a great tone of voice. My pair Arzu and I were responsible for the sound effects. Most of these effects were naturally produced by us. While we were recording our voices, we had some difficulties. For example, there was construction equipment outside and they were producing a lot of noise. It sometimes disrupted and distracted us. Also, since we had so much fun while producing the sound effects, we could not stop laughing and we had to do some points over and over. When we finished editing, we uploaded it on YouTube. SO YOU CAN FIND OUR PROJECT HERE! I would give a similar task to my students in the future because it is so fun and students can learn by having fun, they can get familiar with group works and it might strengthen their bonds. Lastly, I want to embed their blogās link here. So, you can check it if you want. For Arzuās blog please click here and for BüÅraās blog please click here.Ā
What Is Digital Storytelling?
Digital Storytelling is the method of telling a story by using digital sources and it is a pretty new term. It is spreading quickly in todayās world and it is an efficient way for many brands to convey their messages to the audience. But we are going to do something different and implement it in our classes under the term of 21st-century learning.
That was all, thank you. See you.

Magazine Cover Project
Hey there! I am here with another post. This weekās post is about a magazine cover project. This magazine is created for dog lovers and those who are willing to adopt dogs from shelters. Letās have a look at the cover together!
There are 4 main articles in the new issue of ADOGPT magazine: 5 Dog Shelters to Visit (the article gives information about the dog shelters which are in Istanbul), Dare to Save (the article is encouraging people to adopt dogs), Stories of Adopted Dogs (the article reviews the stories of the lucky dogs that are adopted) and Be Their Guardian AngelĀ (this is another article which promotes adopting dogs).
The making process of the cover lasted like an hour. The brainstorming process took 2 hours. Overall, it took 3 hours of mine. But it was very fun to do that. I want to get to the main point. Would I give such a task to my future students? Why, why not? To be quite honest, I would totally give such a task like that because of the whole brainstorming process. You push the limits of your brain and want to produce something interesting. I think that is a great way to activate your brain. So as sure as eggs is eggs, I can say that: My dear future students, please get ready for such a task like that.Ā

Internet-based Project: PADLET!
Source for the photo
Hi everyone. I know it has been a long time since my last post. But now I am back with a new post. I am sorry for being inactive. Anyway, letās get into details. This weekās post is about an internet-based project that is called Padlet Project. As a member of a group that includes 8 people, I want to say that I am completely happy about what we accomplished. We faced some challenges during the making process of the project but it didnāt stop us giving our best and producing something qualified.Ā
Source for the photo
First of all, our padlet project is based on a topic that is āMiscommunication.ā We chose this topic because, in todayās world, communication skills of people are lacking. People are not able to communicate in an appropriate way and they mostly do not care about each other. There are many factors that affect this situation. We prepared some questions and interviewed people that we came across in Kadıkƶy. The answers they gave were satisfying for me. There was one thing that I was not satisfied with. We had some connection problems during our project. I mean, some of us were not good at communication. We wanted to come together and discuss our steps. But some of us were not able to come. I experienced miscommunication in person. That is a minus point for sure. But task sharing was well-planned. We handled it quickly. Everyone contributed to the project and gave their best.
Source for the photo
Secondly,Ā padlet helped us to share the project details smoothly. We were able to see each otherās post and edit our posts. It is a practical platform to convey the information easily. None of us faced challenges about that. I would recommend padlet to my students.
Source for the photo
Finally, the padlet project contributes to 21st-century learning and I want to state my opinions about it. As I said, it is a practical platform and everyone can achieve it with zero effort. Conveying information is very easy. People can make use of this platform if they are clever enough. Having a wall that is common for every member makes sharing information and editing posts easy.

This weekās post is done. If you want to check two of my group mates Orhanās and Gizemās posts, do not hesitate to click. Thank you so much for reading it. We had a lot of fun while doing it. See you next week.

Because you will cry. :/ You can find my wiki project here!Ā Thank you for reading it in advance. Stay tuned for more. I will be back with new posts very soon. Take care until the next time. Bye!:)Ā
Hereās The Next Chapter: A Podcast From Me And My Pair!
Hi guys! Iām back with another post and Iām so proud of this podcast because I put a lot of effort into it. I had so much fun with my pair while we were doing it. The whole lyric writing process was both funny and challenging. At some points, it was really hard to create the right lyrics and it took a lot of time. Thank god, at the end of it, we came up with great work! Iām gonna use podcasts with my students in the future. Because they can learn easily when they have fun. Itās a plausible way of learning. So, I donāt want to make you wonder and thereās no more secret. Hereās my podcast! Click it! The transcribed version of my podcast:

I never trust my stepmom But she pretends to love me. So my name is Hansel And I have got a sister Gretel But I love my father and he loves usĀ He is a woodman Now my mom wants to leave us
I can carry stones in my bag Yellowish hair on my head If my mom leaves us in the dark forest I will fight with the wolves Here I am coming... Now, I will find our home Then my dad will be happy Now, I will find our home Then my dad will be happy And now we are together Because Iām so smart, smart, smart, smart And Iām a blondie, blondie I donāt want to leave home But my mom wants So now weāre in the forest And I have some bread crumbles My mom didnāt see the crumbles, Iām happy This is how we find our way We have to find before itās too late I could find the way with my sis She saysĀ āWhere are the crumbles you spilled?ā I say the birds ate the crumbles I spilled And if we are lost then we are in danger Weāre really in danger But Iām so brave Weāre really in danger But Iām so brave The witch wants to eat us Donāt worry Gretel, Gretel, Gretel, Gretel We will run away, away! We will run away! We have to beat the witch otherwise weāll die She has got an oven, a kitchen, and reasons We have to beat the witch or we will die Gretel hold my hand, hold my hand Hold my hand, hold my hand We pushed her into the oven And it felt so good We pushed her into the oven And it felt so good Now weāre back our home And weāre so happy, happy, happy We feel so happy, happy!

So, while writing these lyrics, Taylor SwiftāsĀ āI Did Something Badā inspired me a lot. I used the instrumental version of the song while I was working on my podcast. A huge thanks to Taylor Swift because I wouldnāt do something like that without her. :) Here are the lyrics of the song! Click it!
Hereās a picture of me and my pair Arzu. Iām so grateful for her hard work. Also, you should definitely check her podcast! Youāre gonna have so much fun! Go and visit her blog. Click it!
Thank you for your attention. See you in the next post! :) Bye!
