Part of the appeal of the OgCale Henituse is that we hear about this supposedly meaningless character at the start and we think that's it, but then we get little fun facts that don't really match the initial description. And then there's more of that and a little more until we are scratching our heads, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure what's going on with that, waiting for the next little hint. And then instead he actually appears and he is nothing like the initial description would suggest and drops his story in your lap without handling all the details so you're now obsessed with what you know about him but also obsessed with everything you don't.

The other part is that, in a world where fighting your siblings about the inheritance is seemingly common, he just went and said "nah". Then spent more or less a decade trying (and succeeding) to look bad in comparison to his step family and trying (and failing) to lose his position. He went out of his way to loose a race he was already winning. Because he cares.

#i personally think at his core he's a very caring/affectionate person its just his methods are sometimes questionable #also he wasnt allowed to show this caring side because of his environment so he went about it through some extreme means #“if i act trashy enough father will be pressured into kicking me out that way my step family will be accepted right??”#flawless 8 y.o logic. clearly he did not account for the fact that his family loved him too much to give into the pressure.#but then his subjects of affection all died in the war so it got twisted into this desire for revenge #so i was really glad when he was shown to be living well as kim roksoo #and regardless of ogkrs' reputation i think it gives him a semi-clean slate that he could afford to show more of his caring side #he didn't even bother to keep up w ogkrs' old reputation as this cold blooded and stoic person and instead acted however he wanted #and!! now he can be as affectionate as he wants with his niece!! no need for restraints!! no more pesky vassal families!! nobility who??#he can finally show that he cares and loves AND is loved back and that means so much to me

So, now Ron and Beacrox "officially" know that Cale is Kim Rok Soo. The narration reveales they picked up clues over time, so it's not a big revelation or anything. But Cale told them his original name! And about OG Cale being well~! It was super sweet. Loved it!
