SHOULD THERE HAVE BEEN any tension among broad shoulders, it has dissipated nearly completely once the weapon is lowered. He hasn’t been concerned for his own mortality, no, but rather would much prefer not to utilize his Quirk ( as it most commonly results in a rather large mess that he always despises cleaning himself of ); the sole warning that he provided appears to have edged her away from whatever reckless possibilities previously went through her head. As far as the young boss is concerned, however, he is under the impression that she chose to provide a more relaxed expression not due to her target being dealt with, but rather the fact that she may hold some level of respect ( or feelings of intimidation - yet even then, perhaps those are two of the same ) for the young yakuza meters away from her.
The childish demeanor stirs a reaction from him - not particularly positive, however, golden hues ( the shade of honey - and yet honey is sweet and welcoming; these eyes are cold, distant - bitter, perhaps, despite the appealing overlay ) laced with scrutiny. This girl was young, true, but even then the act that she was putting up was hardly one of much appeal.
So juvenile.
“Mm.” Thoughtful - a brow quirking up just slightly, signaling further his observance. He chooses not to comment upon that - opting to push the conversation as he’d prefer. “I’m not here to harm you. Quite the opposite, in fact.” However, he’d stay put; there was no sense in advancing forward, considering he never has been one to indulge in games of chance. “Allow me to be frank: You’ve caught my attention. Words and rumors travel quickly, you see - and you’re not particularly difficult to uncover.”
“I’d like to offer you an opportunity - one of which isn’t presented quite frequently.”
The mask hides a good deal of his face, and his naturally stoic expression prevent Yuri from picking up on certain facial cues, but she can still tell from the shifting in his eyes that he is pleased she lowered her weapon. He’s still and impersonal, completely undisturbed by any potential for violence between the two of them, and carrying an aura of authority; does he perhaps expect her to be afraid of him?
A pleasant smile remains in place on Yuri’s face, never faltering for a second, not even when his eyes again shift into something more critical and his eyebrow quirks. He was measuring Yuri up, just as she was he, and neither of them seemed to particularly like what they saw. Yuri was, for the most part, indifferent if not somewhat amused, but she couldn’t say she particularly enjoyed being approached by someone she had not yet decided she was interested in pursuing an interaction with, and especially didn’t enjoy being interrupted by such a person. But well, she might as well make the best of things. Maybe he wouldn’t bore her.
“ Oh? ” Her smile grows and her amused eyes become curious. She already figured a simple fight wasn’t what he was after, or he would have moved to attack already. And if it was the target he was interested in, he would have addressed the matter of her employers by now. No, he was after something specific, wasn’t he?
She continues to listen and let him speak without further interruption and lets out a short chuckles when he finishes before responding with a charmed, casual tone that contrasts the seriousness his voice held. “ That was frank of you. I appreciate that. I’m glad to hear my reputation proceeds me; it makes one of us. ” It’s an intentional jab he’s bound to notice, that she’s known of and he is not. She knows all the rumors there are about her, landing her in the sweet spot of still getting business and avoiding authorities.
Still, Yuri has no intention of making him an enemy and continues. “ Are you going to introduce yourself to me or are you going to leave your name to my imagination? If you’re interested in my services, we should at least be able to address each other in some way. My name is Kajiwara. What’s this opportunity you’re talking about? ”
