Can you feed your guinea pig only veggies and hay? if so, how much veg per day?

Hello! I’m not 100% sure but I think it wouldn’t be the best idea to go completely pellet free because it contains all of the ingredients and vitamins peegs need (in addition to lots of hay of course)However since pellets don’t occur in the wild Im sure only hay and veggies would be fine as long as the range of veggies contains all the vitamins pigs need. Maybe try googling pellet free guinea pig diet to see what combination of veggies would be needed to compensate? Again I am no expert so definitely consult more reputable sources before changing your piggies diet. Ps. I have had a few people asking similar questions because of Passover coming up so if that is why you are trying to go pellet free I do have info on that! two things, one: can you suggest a guinea pig how to book, and two: I have 5 soda boxes, got any suggestions on how to assemble them into a pig maze?

I’ve never actually seen a guinea pig how to book, but that would be so cool! I’m sure there are some great ones out there. I would check Amazon first. And oooooo a maze. I have always wanted to make some of those. I would make like one long line of 2 and then cut holes in the middle of two to make two hallways and then attach the two hallways together using the remaining one. And hide veggies along the way!Or i have seen where people will get a poster board and then hot glue just strips of the cardboard into a more complex maze.

Help!! My piggies are mad at me for cleaning their cage and now refuse to come near me as well as are refusing any veggies I give them... What do I do??

That is very strange behavior. Are you sure they are mad about the cage cleaning? It is more likely an illness if they are refusing food in my experience. Anyone have any advice? In any case you should always contact your vet ASAP if your pigs are acting unusual. Guinea pigs express their sickness and pain in strange ways and their illnesses progress soooo quickly. Better to visit the vet and nothing be wrong than to wait and see.

Merry Delayed Pigmas!!!

Hey again everyone!  Thought I’d share this awesome update of the piggies with a photo of their Pigmas presents - brand new cages and in a new apartment!!!  We’re upstairs now, so they piggies get to look out the windows and enjoy the occasional breeze (once it gets warmer).  Biscotti and Jellybean are already moved in, and while they’re a little spooped of their new surroundings they are also very happy~
