Ninjago Duskfall Trailer Spoilers Ahead !

I was a little stumped by this earth master in the new Ninjago Duskfall trailer ?

At first I thought it was Nate!

But now I think it might be Cole?…Which I mean both Nya and Kai are in this latest trailer and Jin and Mira are not, so it’s not far off to think that first snippet we saw was introducing the new elemental masters and then this latest has our original ninja to show off a little more off the story their unwinding for us!

But n e ways, just some thoughts and theories based on what we have atm :)

He has this scar that Nate’s build does not have ( but that honestly this has very little value since Kai is missing his scar in build and in show depending on sets and seasons pfft )

I.e. Coles Ghost scar when he was brought back to the physical realm & The new Ninjago Legends (Duskfall) Nate’s face mould

Granted—The scar is facing a different direction and is not the iconic green we’ve seen, but for these new designs, the creative team may have taken liberties or made choices to better serve the animation team’s workflow (similar to the differences we saw between the builds for The Ninjago Movie designs and the show designs)

Different creative teams, DIFFERENT interpretations for characters !

Another thing is Cole’s hair piece and the Duskfall trailer earth elemental have similar shaggy dark hair, while Nate still doesn’t have an official hairpiece, just his hat so far :)

Also the weapon…Cole’s hammer👀

Nate’s official weapon is listed as a Kanabō

None of this is me being like THIS IS FOR SURE or anything…

Kai calling himself "old buddy" had me in stitches. I can hear Vincent Tong saying it too, and that makes it even better.

This how Kai's inner voice refers to himself? Old buddy? Really??

Somehow it was a total surprise and yet at the same time made complete sense.

Kai had no one to talk to for so long, referring to his inner voice as ‘old buddy’ when he spoke to himself to feel less alone :(

Nya is my most favourite character ever but boy do I wish they never brought her back. I think the finality of her sacrifice is what makes it so impactful and how they kept reinforcing that merging with her element this way was this irreversible thing was what made it so tragic. She never wanted to be the water ninja. She wanted to be seen as her own being. She gave up her very own self.
