Cole's forehead ghost scar is interesting to me.
His hands make sense, since they are connected to his Elemental Power. But why his forehead? What does that have to do with once being a ghost?
I guess we could merge it with the theory that Cole left his physical body behind in Yang's Temple.
When he was running with the scroll, and the sun rose before he could escape, Cole's spirit left his body and transformed into a ghost. His physical body collapsed inside the temple, and his head was injured in the fall.
When he gained a new physical body in Day of the Departed, that scar, the scar the "killed" his first body, carried over.
I’ve thought abt this too !
I love your headcanon and I have an idea I wanna tag on to this bc it really is interesting and i love discussing with peeps ^-^
In one of my history classes we talked abt the symbology of the head/skull in art. Throughout time and across many cultures the head has been represented as a gateway to the soul, to simply put it, bc our minds (brains) ARE our souls.
Our head is a vessel for the person that is you. Personhood resides within the mind. That kinda thing~
So…I had this thought that perhaps the scar Cole gets after his physical body is restored in the Day of the Departed special was created by his soul re-entering his mind again
The head/the skull/the crown of our bodies being the door. The fact that Cole became a ghost means his soul already escaped once, so his soul had to create an entrance that never existed, perhaps by force which left the scar
