being a kid and hearing adults say stuff like "woah 2011 was 4 years ago haha" didn't really convey the fucking horror of a youtube video crossing my recommended labelled "9 years ago" and it's from 2017. that's not true. 9 years ago is 2010 or something. don't lie.
the phone isnt evil. she wants to help you, to connect you, to provide convenience so you can be present in your life. she wants you to be connected to your world and the people and things around you. when you use the phone as an avoidance tool it causes her pain. it hurts her when you doomscroll, when you dissociate into short form videos or get angry and fight in the comments. its a misuse of her abilities and she feels it as emotional and physical pain. look at her cracked, greasy screen, her scuffed case. all she wanted was to remind you about your schedule and you do this to her. haven't you hurt her enough?
The Egyptian pantheon- We don't have prophecies per say, but we have people who can see into the future, which are also super rare.
The Norse pantheon- We have like one prophecy and everyone is trying to make sure that it reaches to a satisfying conclusion.

we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
torrents work like this
i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.

bittorrent and utorrent were both owned by the guy who originally invented torrents, bram cohen. he sold his company to weird crypto guys in like 2018 or somethin and they put a bunch of sketchy shit in there. qbittorrent is just objectively the best client at this point (plus it's open source yay yippee)
if you're sitting on a fanfic idea because you think it's "too weird" or "too niche" I need you to understand something: the internet is VAST and FULL of people with your exact brand of weird. that crackship that makes sense only to you? there are at least 50 people who will read it and go "oh my god FINALLY." but even if there were ZERO? you still deserve to write the thing that makes your brain light up.
