On August 9, a representative from Hi-Up Music confirmed the news about the upcoming reality show “Producing Jinny” that will be airing this mid-August. The agency also revealed that the show will be aired on Mnet and the filming has been starting since late March.
“The show will be focusing on showing the life of Yoojin as a music producer and the hardwork she puts through preparing for upcoming album,“ the agency stated briefly.
It is also revealed that the show will be highlighting the serious and the strict antiques of Yoojin that the public rarely seen due to her bright and funny image on variety shows throughout her career. Yoojin’s fans can also look forward to see Yoojin doing a few challenges that will thoroughly challenge herself out of her comfort zone.

Singer soloist Yoojin is set to make her comeback!
On August 6, Yoojin’s agency Hi-Up Music annouced, “Yoojin will be releasing her first studio album on August 23. Before she releases her first studio album, she will also be dropping two pre-release tracks on August 11 and 16.”
This will be Yoojin’s first comeback since her debut EP that was released earlier this month. Many are anticipating the singer’s upcoming album as her debut had set a high bar for herself as an artist due to the amazing feedback from the public due to the high charting of her tracks.
Yoojin’s agency also stated, “Yoojin is currently in the last stages of work. She hopes to show a variety of tracks that include collaborations with talented musicians. This album is aiming to show a different side of Yoojin as an artist so please expect to see unique lyrics and experimental styles in her upcoming album.”
[NEWS] Yoojin shares what it’s like debuting at an early age in latest ‘CéCi’ pictorial for August Issue.
Korean fashion magazine CéCi recently unveiled their August pictorial and interview with the singer, who just come back from her trip in London last week.
Stating that she has been resting well after her promotions ended in May, the model also shares what it’s like being in the fast-pace entertainment industry since she was in middle school.
“I think in some ways I do regret being a trainee when I was too young since at that time people around my age gets to experience exciting things but I was stuck with the pressure and had to grow up by force,“ she began. “But I also am grateful that I made a stepping stone in the industry at a young age since I can do what I love now in ease without caring about what the public preserves me as.“
During the interview, the singer also gushed about her love in music and how it influenced her life.
“I have a lot to learn still. I am learning day by day with the help of people around me to see if what I’m doing is right and what not. I want to create music that people can relate and be remembered instead of just trending in the charts and then forgotten by people afterwards,“ she revealed, talking about her continuous progression as an artist. “Since I graduated earlier this summer, I can finally focus on evolving as a musician and a dedicated art expresser through any form of medium.“
The singer added that she’s been working hard for her new singles and upcoming mini album so fans can look forward to the new contents that the artist will be releasing in the future.
As for new acting opportunities, the model-turned-singer said that she did received offers and has been looking over them thoroughly for now.
[SHOW RECAP] Yoojin on Entertainment Weekly’s ‘Geurilla Date’!
The star went on a date with her fans on Hongik University Road for ‘Guerilla Date’ on April 2′s episode of Entertainment Weekly. Not only she played some games with her fans and provide good fanservice, but she answers a few questions on the short interview for the show.
The video started by the crowd waiting for Yoojin’s arrival as the MC hypes them for the singer’s awaited attendance. After a few minutes, the beautiful model-turned-singer came out from her black van all smiley as she greets the crowd happily and bubbly. “Hello to the viewer of Entertainment Weekly. Returned as a singer, I’m Yoojin and it’s nice to be able to meet you guys again!,” she said to the camera as she waves to the crowd that was cheering for her.
The MC then asked how she feels about today’s filming and Yoojin said that she was pretty nervous as it had been awhile since she’s been on the show. One of the fans interrupted the interview by yelling loudly at her as he said that he had missed seeing her which made Yoojin laughed out loud. When later asked what she has been up to, the brunette said, “I have been working hard on preparing for my album, did a lot of studying so that I could show the now ‘image’ me that I’ve been stored for!”
The segment then moved to her playing games with her fans as the MC selects a few fans from the crowd to battle out in order to get a fanservice for her. Couple games like making poems from her name, compability test and appealing to her with their talents were done as the winners then get to take pictures, get hugs or have Yoojin fulfill their wishes.
Once the MC and Yoojin is out from the hectic crowd, they sit down inside a cafe to have a better Q&A for the viewers and her fans at home.
MC: How does it feel being outside and meeting your fans again? I saw that they really love you and that makes me feel a bit jealous that I didn’t get to participate with the games hahaha!
Y: (`laughs.) But you get to be with me here alone so hey! You’re more lucky than them. (`she lets out a soft laugh as she waves her hands almost immediately to indicates that she was joking. ) I’m kidding I’m kidding, I was pretty overwhelmed that the road was too packed and got worry over the safety of the people who came to watch but I’m both thankful and touched to see that I’m still receiving good lights from the public.
MC: So tell us a bit about your new company, Hi-Up Music. How long did you prepared for your debut too?
Y: Well, there’s nothing much to talk about them since it’s been a longtime project that I planned for quite some time with a couple of people that I trusted. Truthfully doing something like this is very risky especially when I’m known as an entertainer and supermodel so I knew that people would look at me with a negative light. But after gaining some trust from people who are close to me, I decided to just give it a try so it happened.
MC: Alright, let’s play a game where you can only say yes or no and you’ll be wearing the lie detector, are you nervous now?
Y: Me? Nervous? Of course not! I’m always telling the truth.
MC: Right now, you think you are the most beautiful person among the people that you know.
Y: No! I know more people that are beautiful. (`presses the lie detector button and then gets shocked upon the electric shocks before she lets out a very loud laugh. ) Are you sure this thing is not broken?
MC: Seems like you sure do, ‘tell the truth’! (laughs) Alright, moving on. You wish you can turn things back and deletes the funny faces that you did on broadcast.
Y: ...Yes. (`presses the button nervously as the lie detector blinks when truth is told. ) Why is the machine like this, now they’ll make me seem like a weird person!
MC: Last but not least, I wish to start dating so that I can go out and see the cherry blossoms with my boyfriend.
Y: No. I’m tired of love for now. (`presses the button and relieves when the answer is truth. ) Wow the machine is really tricking me huh? (`laughs.)
MC: We’re coming to an end so would you like to convey anything to your fans?
Y: Thank you for supporting me and ‘Ongoing Voicemail’ EP as you guys made it go to the top 10 in charts! I would like to say that I will comeback with a better image and music so lookout for those!
[NEWS] Yoojin and model, Lee Minwoo to be the first to guest on the new season of ‘My Celebrity Roomies’!
On March 30, MBC has released a snippet of the couple living together on their social media in order to promote the new beginning of the second season of ‘My Celebrity Roomies’ that will be airing their first episode on April 6.
The video shows the guest, Minwoo shocking Yoojin on his arrival in her apartment once the rookie singer gets back from her schedules. Although they appeared to be awkward on their first meeting, they can later be seen enjoying each other’s company by visiting themselves on each other’s schedules as well as sharing hardships and worries of being in the modelling industry. Not only that, the preview also shows the couple having fun doing outdoor activities with their goofy and carefree personalities.

[INTERVIEW] Yoojin sits down with ‘Bazaar’ for a sophisticated and classy look!
Yoojin looks beautiful with the professional black trendy outfits for the cover of April’s Bazaar. Downing a rather natural and glowing makeup with the look, the model-turned-singer shared the up and downs in her life throughout her career.
Q: How do you feel debuting as a singer despite knowing as ‘Yoojin the Model’ or ‘Yoojin the Entertainer’?
A: I honestly was super nervous about re-debuting again but the outcome was better than what I expected. I was really shocked when I gained top 10 on the charts with the debut since there’s a lot of other talented singers that made a comeback alongside with me. I’m thankful nonetheless to the public and especially my fans for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to revive a long dream of mine.
Q: Since we know you had worked with a few celebrities before, how does it feel to finally produce your own music? Is it different when you create them for other artists?
A: It’s not that much difference but since I had to match a specific genre and colour of my clients, it is more difficult to deal with since I thought for a long time on what will suit them and all while when it’s for me, I have more freedom in order to create music that I like as I already know where I want to take myself in the music industry. Nonetheless, I think doing both of is fun to me!
Q: Talking about your music, where do you think your career will be going from now on? Will you still be modelling on the runaway?
A: My career will be more focused on my music obviously as I have to take care of my agency as well plus I’m doing what I’ve honestly wanted to do but I still love being in the entertainment industry! Although I don’t think I will appear much on variety show anymore, I still do modelling once in awhile. For now I want to focused on showing the singer side of Yoojin and shows everyone my capabilities in the music industry.
Q: What inspires you to write the songs in the ‘Ongoing Voicemail’ EP? Is it personal experiences or based on other stories?
A: Ah! I think there are a mixed of everything. Not every songs that I wrote deprived from my own experience but sometimes I take ideas from the stuff I read or heard and wrote it down as if I’m experiencing them! (laughs) Sometimes I take ideas from films too. It depends on the situation honestly.
Q: Based on your last interview, you said that you like gentleman and soft spoken men, is your ideal type the same or has it change?
A: (laughs) Why the sudden topic! But honestly, I think my ideal type has always been the same. I like warm and soft spoken men. Passionate men as well but as for physical type, I don’t think they matters to me that much as long as they have that aura that I like surrounding them.
Q: It seems that your ideal type has not yet change! Then how much has your life changed after you became a celebrity? Does the treatment becomes different after you become popular?
A: Of course there’s a lot of change since I debuted but since I don’t go out that much and have been around the same people, there’s not much change except when I go anywhere, I have people recognizing me. Although it can be a burden sometimes, I take it positively as the public seems to be keen of my updates and keeping their attention to me still. I would like to use the influence to become a better example and a good rolemodel for the youngsters out there.
Q: Thank you for having us today! Last but not least, please convey a message to your fans and supporters out there.
A: As always, I’m thankful for everyone that has been giving me a lot of love for the past few years. I will work hard to become a better artist and give a great content and music for the public in the future so I can become the cool producer and singer, Nam Yoojin. Thank you!
[EXCLUSIVE] Yoojin debuts with a confident, laid back image at “Ongoing Voicemail” Showcase!
On March 14, the new singer Yoojin finally holds her first debut performance at her own “Ongoing Voicemail” showcase in Ilchi Art Hall!
The event started at 7PM KST with a performance of “Ride” as soloist U-Sik joins her along for the stage. “Ride” is a soulful, chill and calm track with lyrics that describes the frustrating and tiring everyday life as the singer then asks people to go out for a ride to let them out. After the performance ended, Yoojin can be seen smiling widely at the audience as they then sits down to answer some of the questions that was send by her fans through post-notes. Both of them radiates a bright and playful image as they share how it was working together.
“Honestly I never thought I would be working him since I’ve been a fan of him for awhile now. My fangirl heart was very shocked when he said yes to us working together. Manager oppa you did a good job!!“ She playfully cheered for her manager as he was the one in charged for making them working together a reality. “I already praised him a lot, is there anything else that can be said?“ The audience goes wild as her compliments for him was never-ending, showing how Yoojin truly had been a fan of the male singer.
After the small talk was done, the stage went dark as a video about her journey making the EP began to play on the screen, showing a rather serious image of the singer as she works hard with other producers to achieve the final outlook. Once the video ends, Yoojin then serves the fan with a stage for her second title song, “For The Record” with a new outfit.
Different from “Ride”, the song produces more emotion as she sings out the pain of heartbreak throughout the performance. Fans are mesmerized by the dance for the song as she portrays the feelings with her movement along with her dance team. Once the performance ends, she continues with “X” and gives a different vibe as she cooly sings about getting sicked of being deceived by a lover.
Once the music stopped, she immediately flashed a big smile at the crowd -- revealing how she was still the bright girl underneath the confident and sassy woman she covered as on stage. showing her professionalism and duality at the same time. The second talk started later with the appearance of labelmate Kiwoong who features on her track, “Official.” The duo then shared a few funny episodes about their childhood lives when they were little and how Yoojin was shocked to see Kiwoong all grown up when they met again which lead her into casting him afterwards.“We actually made “Official” while just playing around in the studio and didn’t actually want to made it into a real song but somehow along the line I was like ‘..ooh? This sounds really good right?’ towards Kiwoong so we end up working on it more.”
Yoojin also shared her view on the debut EP and the expectation she had for it. “I worked really hard for this EP and wanted to make sure the outcome is really what I want so it took longer than I expected it to be. It was supposed to be set on January but we decided to push it back due to certain issues. I was quite sad in one point because at that time, the music that I made isn’t what I visual myself and I wanted to make music that will make me happy so I am very happy and proud with the outcome now although I’m not sure how the public views it..” She said it with a laugh as her fans shouted “no” and “you did well” in order to cheer her up. “I don’t think I have any expectation for this EP but if it works well, I would be very happy of course! Who wouldn’t when we stayed up a lot of nights working for it right?! I know some of you don’t expect this changes from me and I might hurt some people with leaving my past but I am very happy at this moment so I hope in the future, the public will be more understanding as I try to be a better person and also provides more good music in the future.”
When she was asked about her favourite track on the EP, she revealed that she likes all the songs as she said it was because they were her own hard work with the help from people around her. She also thank the staffs that works for her debut EP as well as thanking U-Sik, Kiwoong and her fans for being supportive of her dreams. The showcase ends after 1 hour and 35 minutes with a final performance of “Official” by Yoojin and Kiwoong.

On March 14, singer Yoojin finally drops her debut EP, “Ongoing Voicemail” alongside the music video for her first title track, “Ride.”
Showcasing her soft and sweet vocals in the track, she can be seen roaming in the city of Seoul before she ends up going out with her friends after a tiring day as the music begins to play. The video starts with Yoojin humming a melodious tune as she goes up to a rooftop while looking carefree with the sound of cars honking and the noises of the city fills the background. With 3 days left until her debut, Yoojin has come forward to express her feelings towards her supporters as well as bringing them to the set of ‘Get It Beauty 2018′ which is the program she’s currently MC-ing for.
HI-UP MUSIC has been giving hints of Yoojin's debut since February 28 and her fans have been looking forward to the upcoming debut of the star. Yoojin also revealed on her previous V-LIVE that she had been attending vocal and dance classes regularly for the past few months thus stirring excitement but also mixed reaction among the netizen regarding the matter.
“I’m actually very excited but nervous. I’ve been reading the comments diligently lately though I used to not before hahaha. I think it’s very unhealthy but I can’t help it since I’m excited and wanted to know the reaction of the public since I’ve been preparing this for a long time,“ the singer said earlier on the live broadcast. For the fans, Yoojin even danced to U-Sik’s Erase whom she worked along for her title track, “Ride.”
Regarding working with U-Sik, Yoojin bashfully said he is a very dedicated and genuine person when it comes to working. “I had really fun working with U-Sik-ssi. Eventhough we only worked for one song, I enjoyed the time we spent since working with him isn’t even stressful. Since I am a big fan of U-Sik-ssi and his works, I got very shy and embarrassed at first but we became closer as time goes by,” she said with a big smile as she explained his work ethics. “If I can work with him in the future, I would gladly do it again. And ah, his comeback is soon so I hope you guys can cheer for him too!”
Yoojin then talked about her filming with the Get Beauty Staff and how she was nervous at first since it had been awhile for her to be standing as an MC thus she had made a few mistakes on the first shooting that made the audience laughed usually. “I’m really glad I had the opportunity to be on the show as an MC again. Are you guys even watching the broadcast?! You better alright!” She playfully remarked at the viewers before retorting it as a joke.
The singer also explained her relationship with Kiwoong and how they met which made them ended up working together for the track, “Official.” It was revealed that Yoojin and the supermodel was childhood friends and that he is “a dearly close dongsaeng” to her. “Kiwoong is a very playful person and though it doesn’t look like we would get along, we do get along very well. We do banter with each other all the time though hahaha. Playful ones I mean! I think what makes him special is that he listens to me when I’m down and doesn’t get weird about my honesty and weird antics.”
After a few minutes more talking with the fans, Yoojin then bid goodbye while asking for her fans to stay warm with a few sets of aegyo that was asked by a lot through the live comments.
[NEWS] Kiwoong confirmed to be featured in Yoojin’s Upcoming Debut EP with the released of tracklist!
Kiwoong or more known as Jeon Kiwoong is said to be featuring in one of Yoojin’s tracks in her upcoming debut EP, ‘Ongoing Voicemail.’
On March 9, HI-UP MUSIC released a picture containing tracklist for the singer’s upcoming debut EP that consists of 5 tracks in total. The EP contains two title tracks which features U-Sik and it was revealed that the singer will be promoting ‘Ride’ first on the first week of promotion before she promotes ‘For The Record’ on music programs as she is reported to promote for the total of 2 weeks only.
Kiwoong will be featuring in track number 2 entitled, “Official.” Aside from lending his voice for the song, he also take parts in writing and composing the song along with label mate Yoojin in the track. This will be the first official activity for Kiwoong under HI-UP MUSIC and the fans are excited to see him promoting under the new label.
Meanwhile, Yoojin’s first EP is set to released on March 14 and March 15 for the offline released.

[NEWS] Soloist U-Sik to join production for Yoojin’s upcoming Debut EP!
U-Sik will be partaking in the production of Yoojin’s upcoming debut EP!
Previous reports have confirmed that Yoojin will soon be debuting as a singer after the revelation of her new now opened company, HI-UP MUSIC. There were rumors that she had been working with known composers and producers alongside writing and making her own tracks over the break for debut but it is now confirmed that U-Sik will be one of the rumored artists.
U-Sik is a soloist that debuted in 2013 under Mount Records and is also known for his songs such as, “Lucy” and “Wet.” Besides from featuring for other artists, he also produces music for them and even composed most of his own songs thus regaining the popularity in the music scene.
With now him in the team, the anticipation for her album rises as her fans are curious for the image she will be showing in the future.

[NEWS] Yoojin started her own company + revealed to be debuting as a solo singer this March
Yoojin revealed to have open up her own company that she had worked on before she left ESteem Model last year. The company, HI-UP MUSIC was revealed to be set up from the end of August, 2017 and only finalized now.
It is known that Yoojin is actively participating in the music scene since she was young as she used to be a trainee in YG Entertainment and even produced some of tracks of known artist under the name, GENIE (지니). She even featured on several songs such as SooRa’s “Promise” and many other more.
The company also revealed a timetable set for Yoojin’s debut prior to the announcement. Various teasers including photos, tracklist, and videos will be coming until the full release on March 14.
