Having screaming fits of rage on occasion where you wave your arms around all higgilty piggilty
my chemical romance is the funniest and weirdest band ever. They’re all fucking losers who would genuinely rather play dnd than hook up with groupies. The singer used to work at Cartoon Network. The bassist is on the fbi watchlist for crimes against disney. One guitarist is a guitar god but he also used to keep a little action figure of spiderman in his pocket all the time, the other is like a little lap dog of a man, but he’s also on the fbi watchlist for death threats against a us president. They refused to be on the twilight soundtrack, one of the most popular franchises at the time but then they preformed on yo gabba gabba and re-recorded one of their songs in simlish.
Oh I didn’t forget. Make no mistake I did not forget the fact that Stephanie Meyer, nyt’s bestselling author of thee Twilight series who, upon looking at the weirdest greasiest human alive said oh my god I need to make this man* a creepy ass abusive predator. And I did not forget Gerard was so offended and upset that they wrote a whole ass diss track about it and went on a rant on Twitter that ended with them talking about getting that philharmonic cheddar. I can never forget.
The philharmonic cheddar. For proof and prosperity!
Cats understand "naughty". In fact I think they're the only animal who understands it. Dogs know "good" and "bad" but not Naughty. Same with theft. Cats know what theft is. They know when they are thieving and you can see it on their faces. Squirrels are thieves but they don't know that. They know "take" and "have" but they don't comprehend what it is to steal. Nor do raccoons or coyotes or any species of rodent. They may participate in theft but they are ignorant of the weight of what they do, the full meaning of it. Cats know what crime is and they do it on purpose.
#some dogs know Mischief #which is the same as 'Naughty' but lacking in Malice #cats have an abundance of Malice #which they must have a healthy outlet for #don't get me wrong cats love you! #but the Malice builds up in their systems and they have to get it out #the only way to do this is Crimes

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (2019-) 2.03 “Brain Scramblies”
If you’re not keeping up, Cartoon Network sold off most of its original programming over the last few years to run exclusively on HBO Max, but after a merger with Discovery, HBO has taken them all down, including those that were still in production, for what is long story short a big tax write-off. And it’s not a simple matter of them just airing or streaming somewhere else now. It’s a very complicated issue of rights and contracts and money but essentially it’s very possible that these shows will never be available again in official capacity and their creators will never see another penny from them again, either. Some completed episodes may also be lost media, indefinitely. For a couple of series, such as Mao Mao and Infinity Train, Cartoon Network has gone back and scrubbed all tweets, youtube clips or other mention of the series existence, confirming they likely no longer have the rights to take them anywhere else. The tweet today by the creator of Tig N’ Seek made me saddest.
A lot of people this week have simply given up on their industry careers, seeing years of their life’s work just vanish into a corporate vault overnight. Being able to point to your work on a streaming service had apparently even become a pretty critical part of the portfolios they now rely on to get new jobs.
Streaming media went from an optimistic new frontier to even worse than cable TV so suddenly.
This is why you always invest in physical media.
All it takes for digital art to be lost is a click of a button or a bad trade deal between corporations.
Stock up on your favorite media while you have the chance. It might not be there tomorrow.
Our flag means death, Season 2, opening scene
It’s that scene where Chauncey Badminton kidnaps Stede. The exact same words, same cuts, Badminton shoots himself in the eye and falls to the ground, dead.
And Stede breaks down.
It’s all the same, except that this time, the camera doesn’t cut away. Stede stays in the jungle for hours, crying, shaking, overcome with guilt and nerves, frozen in place next to the body.
When he can finally get up again, it’s morning. He leaves the jungle, reaches the pier.
There’s no one waiting.
It especially makes sense given how much Stede absolutely froze up after Badminton Mark 1, sitting there, clinging to his arm chair.
“Do you want to live?” “that’s a tough question” versus the lowering of hands and “I think you’re right. I absolutely agree” readiness to die.

Don't just tell everyone.
Okay can I talk about episode 3 for a minute? Because I was watching episode 3 again and the way Stede interacts with Lucius once they're at the Republic of Pirates jumped out to me this time.
Because, like, Stede is on some level seeing some of himself in Lucius, right? I'm reminded of @nicnacsnonsense's post pointing out Stede saying "I'm glad you're making friends, but tighten up" like he was a little worried about the effeminate, slightly bitchy guy who reads more than the people around him having trouble fitting in, for utterly unfathomable and entirely non-personal reasons.
And then we get to the Republic of Pirates, and Lucius is clearly just as new to this environment as Stede is, and he's dragging his feet and just generally not enthused about the situation and maybe a little overwhelmed, but he's not, like, actually distraught.
(He does a little cry after getting smeared with blood, but it's clearly a venting-through-being-dramatic, "I kind of hate this and I just want everyone to be aware of that" thing, rather than an involuntary "I am in real distress and it's not something I can deal with" cry -- it's the kind of thing you do to make yourself feel better when you're unclogging the shower drain and it's REALLY gross and maybe a bit of gross shower water got inside your glove but you've just gotta keep going and get through it.)
So Lucius is not at ease with the situation, but he's not not okay, and it's his job to follow Stede around and be his biographer/companion, after all. And Stede, beautiful imperfect autistic wonderful hero that he is (I want to autistically kiss him on the mouth always), who has been in scary new situations before, doesn't tell him off for whining, just goes "come on, we're going! follow me!" and then
AND THEN
(this is the part that jumped out at me this time)
They get to Spanish Jackie's, and Stede turns to him and says, "Now it does look a bit scary in there, so I'm going to need you to hold it together and come in." (And I could go on for days about how this may not be Lucius's communication style or what he was hoping to hear in this situation, but from an autistic point of view, Stede has just given 1) forewarning and an idea of what to expect, 2) clear, manageable, and concrete explanation of what he expects of Lucius, 3) non-judgmental acknowledgment that Lucius is experiencing difficulty, and 4) an impression of confidence that suggests Stede has it covered and will get them through it fine -- but the REAL thing I'm getting at here is --)
Lucius then tries to wriggle out of it again -- "Oh, well if it's scary, I'll probably just head back to the ship --"
-- and Stede immediately seizes on a nearby thing that 1) is interesting, 2) gives Lucius an immediate (and easy, and familiar) job to do to distract him, 3) reinforces the framing of "this is fun and exciting! we're making memories!", and 4) gets Lucius a little physically closer to the bar.
Anyway, I have definitely not paused right in the middle of the episode to cry about how Stede consistently deliberately responds to situations for his crew the way he would have wanted someone to do for him in a similar situation. (Especially not when I should have been in bed several hours ago.)
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a nose jar to see.
Yes, this is some excellent autistic Stede content right here.

TAIKA TUESDAY BIRTHDAY EDITION 🥳
when you accidentally say "thats crazy" and notice a shift in their body language because they probably saw an infographic about the word crazy being ableist.
stepped on a plum (overripe plum) (barefoot) it was on the driveway got out of the car and accidentally (didn't know it was there) stepped on the plum (warm) (on the ground) (it had fallen from the tree) barefoot (no shoes) wearing long pants (too long) (need to hem them) plum viscera got on them (the pants) unexpected plum on the driveway (hot plum) (97 degrees out) already super hungover (throwing up all morning) (should not have been driving at all) and I stepped out of the car (black car) (97 degrees out) and onto the plum (unexpected) (didn't know the plum was there) and it burst (plum nightmare on my only good pair of sweatpants) still we find ways to keep ourselves going from day to day
happy one year anniversary to possibly the best plum poem since william carlos williams' "this is just to say"
I'm thinking about Stede asking Mary to go live on the ocean and not remembering that she said she hated the fucking ocean when they were standing by the fucking ocean.
I'm also thinking about Ed screaming "I hate nature!" as he stands in nature brutalizing a snake in one episode and then in the very next episode Stede cheerily suggesting a nature walk.
