I think this is my favourite Kaladin I've ever painted. 🩵🩵🩵 Look at my boy! And his fairy girl!
Also, I sort of accidentally made a gouache brush set in Procreate, lol. And one of my favourite ever paper overlays. Coming to an iPad near you soon!

Kaladin and his eras
kindness is punk rock! (redrawing hehe)
a friend sent me a picture today & said “I think I just saw your art on twitter?” which was cool but made me realize how old that art looked lol

one thing about kaladin is that he loves a dramatic entrance. absolutely fucking loves it. his Herald ass is about to touch down on Roshar sooooo dramatically with Syl in circa 10 years after being presumed dead. levels of drama never before seen. The Duel put to shame. he's gonna be wearing his cape
ishar: behold the power of my Mega Depression!! you cannot possibly--
kaladin: yeah, yeah. the Mega Depression. we've all felt it. anyway, here's wandersail

Together Alone. This is probably my last fan art for this year, and of course, to celebrate Canon Rlainarin Day it’s another piece of them.
This year might be the most fun I ever had in this fandom. Thank you for having me! 🌪️
“"You are in darkness, Taravangian, and my father thinks you are lost. I lived through his return, and it taught me that no man is ever so far lost that he cannot find his way back. You are not alone." (…)
He wants me to take his hand.
Taravangian didn't. Seeing it made him want to break into tears, but he contained himself.”
From Taravangian’s Interlude in Rhythm of War. The lack of Renarin content in this book is devastating…
@paintweaver-art This is so lovely. The quiet and tone of the moment resonate perfectly. I loved that you included the two closeups that capture so much of their thoughts in that scene.
My mind feels like such a creative and empathetic place that /loves/ thinking about characters and writing, but I'm also one of the people whose imagination never actually sees/pictures in a visual way (Aphantasia). I love looking through others' book art and seeing moments like this.
Yours is especially cool tonight because I had never expected to run into art of this quiet Renarin scene; let alone such a detailed one that shows off both their perspectives. Quoting Renarin's words from the scene text directly underneath it like you did takes the way I remember the story (all words/voices and feelings, but words the are what hold the emotions.). It places the character's voice / narrative directly underneath the imagery so that you're able to visually see both on the same screen at once. The effect is always lovely creates the most artistic way to think of the scene. 💙
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. 💜
It's always so fascinating to read or hear what people think of the things I make.
I often wonder if what I painted is perceived the way l intended, and if the characters come across the same way they felt to me when I started to put them onto paper. I cannot grasp this myself, as I will never be able to see my art from the outside.
This is also why, I was a little hesitant to use quotes (and to write my own Image Descriptions), because I worried I was making it too easy for myself. I believe a piece of art has to stand on its own, even outside its real context. But after all, this is a book fan art, so I figured it makes sense to use quotes that add a little bit more detail. I cannot always expect that everyone knows what I paint, especially people who might not even read the books.
But to see them as an actual extension of these paintings is definitely a new perspective for me, that I want to keep in mind when using them in the future! ✨
