Katniss: I'm never going to have kids. I've made this choice because I don't want them to be subjected to the reaping or the hunger games.

Katniss: I have genuine feelings for Peeta, but if I'm going to be with anyone, it has to be my choice. I can't be truly happy as long as the capitol is making my romantic choices for me.

THG series: [capitol is brought down, hunger games abolished]

Katniss: The conditions under which I made my previous choices have changed! I guess it's time to revisit them, since like most people my thoughts and opinions are subject to change in response to the circumstances in which they are formed

Katniss: [starts a relationship with Peeta now that she's no longer being coerced, ends up having two children now that she doesn't have to worry about them being subjected to the hunger games]

Post Mockingjay  - Gale returns to District 12 to visit Katniss after a few years, but instead of seeing Katniss when he knocks on her door, he ends up meeting Peeta’s and Katniss’s kids.
