Hi Gary! Is it okay if I print your fanart of Lisbeth Salander (from your TGwtDR x Midsommar comic) to put in my reading journal, with credit of course? I love your rendition of her. Completely understand if you say no!
Go for it!
Just because I can, I've made a short film about the time Taylor Swift came to Vancouver last year for the Eras Tour. We had some insane fog roll in that week, and I personally had a really strong reaction to that moody, Silent Hill atmosphere coupled with a city completely covered in Taylor decorations.
I drew the Taylors in procreate, took the photos from on my phone, comped in After Effects, and edited in Premiere.
For folks in Vancouver, if anyone's doing the Eastside Culture Crawl this year, I've got a fun little multimedia life drawing installation set up at the Basic Inquiry studio on Main Street. It's made of 3 to 10 min life drawings from this year, and an animated video of life drawings from a few years ago!
I've got a little multimedia life drawing art show coming up in a few months, so I'm starting to dig through my existing life drawings to make little animations in prep for the show!
The drawings from tonight I got to do a little spin!
My entry for the One Piece Art Collab 2 this year! Everyone's favourite member of the gorosei Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro!
This is the film I would've made for this year's 5 Second Day at Titmouse earlier this year, except I'm working at a different studio this year, and I've had a lot of life happen that set back finishing this little short. Done now tho!
Bit late on the draw with the Steamboat Willie stuff tho lol
My film for this year's 5 Second Day at Titmouse!
My main goal this year was just to make something fun! Fun... and also kind of stealthily drop in a ton of KH references!
It's a story about a four kids and a dog! Join them on a quick adventure through the twisted dreamtime of the city they call home!

A lil sneak peek of my 5 second day film for this year!
Some character designs for my next personal animation project. It's been such a dour sort of year that I wanted to do something fun and cartoony!
I've been going to life drawing sessions more this year, so now that I've got a huge pile of newsprint under my couch, I figured I'd do some
After years of not doing it at all, I made a new years resolution this year to go to life drawing sessions again. I've been pretty good about it mostly, going about once a week from February onwards. It's been fun, if a bit daunting at the beginning.
I mostly used Nupastel (RIP) on newsprint, with poses ranging from 30s to 10 min (tho I've been cheeky and embellished a bit more for some poses). These were all done at Basic Inquiry in Vancouver.

FINALLY finished!
This is a fan film based on Desire of the Endless, from The Sandman.
Like all of the Endless, Desire has their own little personal dimension that’s an extension of their own being. As the embodiment of the concept of wanting, the only thing in Desire’s dimension is a flesh colossus of their own body. THAT’S METAL.
This is just my personal interpretation of this character and setting, intersecting with my own fascination with body horror and japanese city pop. Really just an opportunity to draw a ton of cool body horror shit. ALSO, it’s a stab at trying to cut together a music video. The track is “Sparkle”, arranged by android52, from King for Another Day 2019 ( aka the greatest single album of music ever released).
It’s... about angels.
My film for this year’s 5 Second Day at work!
Wowee it’s been a busy year, but I’m finally finding time to make some progress on my Desire of the Endless fan film! Here’s a big progress dump of bgs, plus one comped test shot! If I don’ get sidetracked again, this should be done in a few months.
As time goes on, I find that I prefer to spend my time on bigger, more satisfying projects, as opposed to doing lots of little projects at a faster clip. I get enough of tight deadlines professionally, so for personal stuff, not sweating my pace and having some breathing room is GREAT.
Been thinking a lot about the imagery in the epic that is SCP-5000. Specifically, the really cool visuals of the elongated humanoid the Foundation was fighting.
I’ve drawn it a bit more creepy ghouly here for fun, but in keeping with what was laid out in the story, I’d imagine it’d be more like one of those uncanny photo effects David Lynch does in Twin Peaks Returns? Could be worth revisiting down the line.
This is my contribution to the 2021 edition of Titmouse Inc’s 5 Second Day, NIGHTLIGHT.
It’s an idea I’ve had kicking around for a while now, with hints of all the things I’ve really enjoyed over the course of this last year. A world where a cosmic calamity causes the worlds of dreams and reality to meld together, and the humans that now have to live in the spaces between the two. Like... The Sandman meets the SCP Foundation meets Madoka Magica.
This was done entirely in Storyboard Pro except for a few photoshop assets, so it's basically a colorized animatic. In the future, I’m gonna try and refine this idea, amp up the boards and the cinematography, and get it animated with real bgs. HOPEFULLY.
