okay I wanna explain a few things about ILY / LoveLetter AU thingy, uhhhh it's still being workshopped so expect @thecarniscircus to add to it or change it as well, we're still coming up with all this!!
So here's the start for Spamton, in his Bigshot era! He's a nice guy, of course - it starts off completely like how you'd expect the original Deltarune Bigshot Spamton to. Tidy guy, famous, stereotypical 90’s car dealership owner - And then there's a conversation. One he has with Queen. He ends up contracting the I LOVE YOU virus, something he willingly gave himself, as he was told it would make things better, make him better, make everything about what he does, says, thinks - better.
He loved how it made him feel. He grew more confident, more outgoing, he got better sales rates, people loved him. But he was always on calls during breaks, barely ever truly getting to spend time with Tenna, or for that matter, anyone at all, outside of advertisement or stage spotlight.
Eventually, the calls become less and less, but he seems more and more stressed after each call. Eventually, after a call convincing Spamton to spread the I LOVE YOU propaganda to none other than Mr. Ant Tenna himself, he comes to Tenna with a LOVE LETTER, a digital screen of a little envelope that he says would change everything for the better for Tenna. He says it would make everyone love him, that it would make him better, make him feel better, make him just as good, if not better than himself. So, Tenna naturally opens it - the thought in his mind was that Spamton was confessing a love for him, they'd been oddly flirtatious ever since Spamton had that talk with the Queen that one time. But that wasn't the truth. No, the LOVE LETTER was a virus - one that quickly spread directly into Tenna’s very own programming, his signals being malformed into something worse, something that no CRT television should ever be set into - a virus, a bug, malware.
Spamton starts panicking as he watches his closest friend - and the love of his life, who he will never have the pleasure of giving that knowledge - change, his screen bugging out, particles and glitches popping up just barely out of sight that it seems fake, like it's not even there. But it was. And these moments, Tenna was staring at Spamton, disbelief in his expression because he STILL loved the guy, even after something like this — and the last thing Tenna ever could hear from Spamton himself, the last time he'd ever heard his voice, was him saying, “PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE OKAY.”
But Tenna wasn't. Anyway so Spamton freaking ran out of there like he'd just murdered a happy family, trying to figure out where that caller was - he knew the one fact that they were local, somewhere near his home. What's worse, is that he did find the caller, but he couldn't tell who they were, almost as if their appearance was heavily altered, like it was blurred, or corrupted, for its own safety. Spamton tried reasoning with whoever it was he was speaking to, but at the end of the day it did NOT work out. He was eventually, as all fates for the little salesman end, tossed into The Battery Acid™, his final moments of his legacy leaving him as it burns him and changes his form for the worst.
Time passes. Spamton is now, as the usual, a dumpster-dwelling salesman; but he's nicer than he should be, almost too nice. He seems scared of something that lurks just outside of his field of view, like something might be following him, or watching him. He always talks about the Cathode, Trash Heap, As Seen on TV, etc., but he never explains why, he just mentions that he "Hopes the [[Trash Heap]] is okay".
Time passes. HeartShapedObject, hand it over!
Spamton Neo in this AU is almost like a pop-up, the wings are - as the whiteboard doodle reference suggests, - pop-up boxes with 2-frame animated pixel gifs. There's a fight, yadda yadda, fast forward to the end, the pop-up wings are GONE and he's being covered by these Love Letter pop-ups, like he himself is a file being corrupted. He knows he will not survive. He knows that he will never be able to say he is sorry to Tenna. He knows that he will die without ever having said he truly cared for or loved the only person who ever treated him as a living being to his face. There are no options to save him, he will always die. He exerted himself too much trying to do anything at all, he's stuck with the real-life file corruption sealing his fate. His final words, as my lazy 1 hour doodle that I posted a few minutes ago suggests (I will make a better one I swear maybe), are “JUST MAKE SURE THAT [[Cathode]] SURVIVES. I WISH I COULD TELL HIM THAT [[I Love You!]] [[Mr. Ant Tenna’s!]] I'M SORRY.” and ermmm yeah so basically EVERYTHING about him is now GONE the only thing that's left of him are his cracked glasses - not the ones from his neo form because those are just digitally enhanced (thank you virus that kills people for making people have the ability to use you for fashion !!!) anyways, so his original glasses are the only things left. They can not be used to summon him or anything because he's actually like just dead. He's gone. He freaking died bro there's no coming back from that shi
UMMMM OK MAN ALRIGT.. I THINK IM GONNA TAKE A NAP ITS LIKE 6AM LMAOO have fun I might come up with more ideas and stuff later idk ermmm yeah gonna have to discuss more lore with The Guy™
