Remember in Thunderbolts when Yelena confessed to Alexei that she felt so alone and drepressed. That the only things she was able to do was going to work, stare at her phone and think about all the bad things she has done.

In the intro the Brand New Day we see Peter going full SpiderMan mode (working), stalking Ned on his social media (staring at his phone) and constantly visiting May's grave (thinking about the bad things he has done).

Black Widows were trained to easily read people, so the moment Peter walked into Yelena's "office" she clocked the same depression that tormented her for so long. Her comment about him being a "sad man" wasn't thrown randomly, she knew that it was true.

That is why she was geniuly happy when she saw him with friends; because it was having friends what ended up saving her and she truly believed that it could save Peter too. She was right.

let’s be honest seeing yelena be a sort of big sister figure to peter wasn’t just cute. it was also really really meaningful, considering she herself just went through a whole arc about letting other people in and not doing everything by yourself, but…..it really stings considering she was once the little sister in a found-siblings dynamic

Rewatching Infinite Darkness it's infinitely funnier when you realize that Claire pretty much wants to team up again with Leon because that's her bestie, that's the coparent of their unofficially adopted daughter, she probably has put Leon higher than Chris in people she trusts the most, while she is none the wiser that Leon is

1. Riding the guilty horse of Raccoon City's disaster

2. Riding the high horse of having had saved the President's daughter so he believes he is kinda untouchable

3. Riding the "I very much miss you, Claire, I care about you I'm going to impress you with this please don't go getting yourself kidnapped while I try to save the world" donkey

And instead of being a direct guy and admit he cares for her and she is the one who haunts his narrative in a positive way to keep him going since she (and Sherry) are the only reasons he hasnt pulled the trigger on himself, he goes and tells the WORLD ACTIVIST that he prefers to endanger other people if that means having her around breathing at least.

His shame room is him failing at breaking out Natasha and Yelena out of the Red Room and being arrested when he was caught.
