On this day, June 4th, 2025; deltarune's 2 new chapters was released. Today we met the TV World's host man himself, it's Mr. Ant Tenna! He became one of my favorite Darkner Bosses. <3
As corny it sounds, please allow me to indulge this. When it came out, I wasn't able to play the game to purchase, due to financial issues since last year. I've been away with my active art accounts to avoid spoilers. On November 11 2025, I finally got my chance to play it. And that his show began with us.
I immediately fell in love with Mr. Tenna, he brings out of my shell. His charming personality under the facade with his desperation to be not thrown away by Lightners, really broke down my heart. And yet, he was saved! Susie saved him to repair his damages thanks to helping out the recruits!!
Susie... If i had a chance to draw you again, I'll do it when I'm brave. I'm truly grateful that you gave us a hope. I want you to continue pushing your hope and carve your own path. I want nothing but the best of Fun Gang, Castle Town's resident recruits, and Lightners' world. May the Angel's Soul be blessed your determination to fulfill your dreams.
I would like to be grateful Toby Fox's team for creating wonderful game. I hope for the game's progressing well with remaining chapters. With a bottom of my heart as an aspiring artist, Thank you.

I don’t have a name for him, but this is my interpretation of Sonic as a villain. Here’s a hint, imagine if you noticed it, but not through his personality.
I’ve seen many interpretations of Sonic as a villain and instead of having him be a Sonic but on a bad day like Scourge. Sonic but dark and more violent like in Sonic X. Or Sonic but insane like Fleetway or Chaos Sonic, let’s have something different.
Have you ever noticed how Sonic can always manipulate a situation? He does it a bunch when he fights or interacts with people. It’s almost never in a negative way, but it does come across as a bit prideful and egotistical. Usually everything ends up going his way or has to go his way.
I believe if Sonic was ever to be a villain, he’d be a master manipulator. Funnily enough Sonic barely ever lies about things in most continuities, but at the same time is able to trick people or bend things to his will whenever he needs to. I’d like to think a villainous Sonic would be perceived as a good guy. Like standing up for Tails, but instead of moving on and letting Tails join him, Sonic manipulates Tails into beating up the bullies who bullied him.
He’d make Amy feel as if she doesn’t need to fend for herself and tell her to rely on him whenever she needs help. Or tell Knuckles to never trust anyone or ends up not inspiring him, so Knuckles stays antagonistic and untrusting. He’d inspire people to be the worst versions of themselves. Therefore creating a toxic atmosphere. Ideas like that.
This Sonic would be one who’d not care about being famous or rule over anything like a dictator. He’s like normal Sonic in a sense that he goes by his own rules, but it’d be for the worst intentions. He also takes advantage that he’s fast and uses his speed as a weapon. Destroying homes, pulling pranks, stealing, messing up the ecosystem, and all that jazz. He might save the world if it meant he didn’t have to die. But he doesn’t care if some Egg-shaped scientist is destroying the world. As long as he’s not bothering Sonic, why should he care? If he does go against Eggman or any other villains, he’d most likely kill them on the spot. Not out of heroism, but just out of spite. He doesn’t like being bothered.
When he says he doesn’t mind being the bad guy, he means it literally. He’d lack the emotional depth Sonic has and be a caricature of the “Cool guy being a jerk” trope. He doesn’t care if he’s seen as evil or not. He just likes causing mischief. No tragic backstory for him. Sonic’s the way he is because he chooses to be. That includes when he’s the bad guy.
He could act like a good guy in front of a crowd, but in reality, he’s causing the issues people believe he’s saved them from. All you gotta do with an evil version of him is turn his best/worst attributes of his personality and crank them to 100. He doesn’t have to be wild and crazy about it. He’d be just as chill and laid back as normal Sonic. Except he enjoys the chaos around him. Unlike other evil interpretations he’s the most similar to normal Sonic. And it makes things so much worse when he causes problems.
This isn’t the perfect idea, but I do like the concept of Sonic but evil in a way that almost doesn’t change his morals/personality.
So it's seems the robot speech pattern might be the one Emerl used in battle, also what you showed from isekai ogiri more or less tell me that flynn may went overboard with the robot speech pattern.
Also "let's go to the oil bar" that's funny lol
Yeah I'd love to see how Emerl spoke in Japanese during the final story in Sonic Battle. That should be pretty revealing. The localization for Sonic Battle wasssssss not very good lol. I know Windii is working on it, but I'd love to get a copy of the Japanese script for the game and have a reputable translator whom I trust (aka @beevean) look it over and give their insights.
And yeah, I'd expect Gmerl to be pretty funny because honestly Emerl could be a fucking goof by the end =P
From what I know, "robot speech" in Japanese is usually conveyed by technical words (words borrowed from Chinese, usually made up of multiple kanji), lack of any sort of ending particles/copulas, and, if written, by katakana, which is the equivalent of writing everything in caps. By the way, the latter was adapted hilariously in Partners in Time and I feel the need to share:
Giving a cursory glance at the Last Story in Japanese, at first Emerl speaks pretty much like Sonic, down to using the same ore pronoun.
Aside from the "Doctor", that's Sonic to a T :P
And that's instead his "robot speech" displayed in katakana. Here's what it'd look like "normally":
ファイナル・エッグブラスターを地球に向けて発射。
Cut and dry, as you can see. It's not 発射する, to make it a verb, it's just the noun for "firing".
There is, however, one screenshot that caught my interest:
力が体からあふれる。耐えられない… 耐えられない…
Windii translated 耐えられない, the negative potential form of 耐える (to stand, to endure), as "unbearable", and not as the more literal "I can't bear it"/"I can't stand it". I would take it as trying to make him sound more robotic, but immediately after he cries to Shadow and "Mama" that it hurts, so I don't know if it was appropriate here. This is still Emerl as himself fighting against the power corrupting him, and he sounds downright childish.
Oh. He retains the katakana, but he goes back to boku as he's dying. Great :')
That's what I could glance quickly. Nothing much of note compared to the English translation in this instance. To be honest, though, reading entire speeches in katakana is painful lol.
