It always surprised Leon how devoted you were to him, in the loud ways that could subdue the new york metro rushes, in the subtle ways that could make pin drop silence sound like tornado sirens.
It was just another day when he was going over his reports, your brand new claw like nails tapped the paper as you asked him, " is this about the incident with the Rhodes Care Centre?"
He hummed as his eyes caught onto your new set- a set with an "L" along with a heart on your index finger. He caught it before you could retract your hand. The valley between his brows relaxed before they deepened again as he smirked.
"Now what do we have here?" he cooed as he looked at you, sly as ever.
"umm... its uhh nothing?" you hushed out as you internally regretted getting it done, god you felt like a silly schoolgirl with a puppy crush on her substitute teacher.
"So...does it stand for something or perhaps for...someone?" he said as he held firmly onto your hand after your second attempt to pull away.
"Maybe..." you said with a shy smile, the one that he always adored, how the dimples would cascade down your cheeks like crescent-shaped moons.
It was another day when your phone buzzed with multiple texts, away from you at an arms length but you were way too lazy for your own good as you looked at leon in a silent plea to get you your phone.
Leon huffed as he got up from the couch to get you the device that was, mind you, closer to you. But his faux irritation dissipated the second his eyes locked onto your lockscreen. It was a picture of him, just him smiling shyly at the camera. A flicker of the memory passes by his mind, the day you took the picture, he was quite insistent that pictures of him would do no one any good, to which you strongly said, as he remembers, " girl fuck off". It made him laugh, really, how easily you loved him, like it took no effort at all. He sometimes didn't understand it, how you loved so quiet but yet so loud, it was all around but yet he just had to look for it.
Somewhere between your shared spaces, you kind of became a paradox for him, the burning ambers in his dark winters, the cool moon breeze during his famished summer days. You filled him up yet you left him starved for more. He didn't know what to make of you; he just knew that you were.
