the struggle
i hate being adopted. i really do. it’s such an integral part of who i am.. it defines so many of my actions, reactions and thoughts. and i hate it so much.
i’m supposed to love myself in order to really grow as a person, find my purpose and be happy. love even the things that i dislike. my achievements, my shortcomings, my faults and mistakes.. so i try. i try to love the parts of me that feel broken and incomplete.
people with ignorant remarks of ‘how lucky i am to have been chosen.’ yes, i was chosen; taken from one class and shoved into another, only to be told that the life i had never lived was horrible and it was for the better. only at the cost of my entire family, the generations of ancestors past who had brought me to where i am today.. unknown, inaccessible. i’m a shell of a former life with the expectation of assimilating into a new one. even if the shoe doesn’t fit, fake it until it does.
so i’m constantly stuck. i love myself for who i am. but i hate what it has cost me.
To (Those) Adoptive Parents:
To (those) adoptive parents: You know who I’m talking about. The ones who tell their kid to be thankful, to never talk about birthparents, the really naive ones who don’t see color, or tell me it’s God’s plan. Does this sound like you? Stop right now. Don’t tell me you don’t see color. You had all the chances to adopt in America, yet you went over to China to get her? Why? What if she wasn’t Chinese? You only see color when it benefits you. “Oh I want an Asian baby!” But when she comes home after school, crying about some racist asshole picking on her, making fun of her eyes, what do you say? “Ignore it.” Ignore it. Ignore this, but don’t ignore the reason why you got her. Speaking of which, God’s plan! Oh, I’m sorry, so it’s God’s Plan, to allow police to drag mothers out of their houses and preform forced abortions?! It’s God’s Plan, to rip families apart and turn children into profits? It’s God’s Plan to allow children to meander in orphanages? So it was God’s Plan to allow the One Child Policy to occur, just so YOU COULD GET WHAT YOU WANTED?I’m a Catholic-almost-turned-theist and let me make this clear: I’m sorry, but there is NO WAY I am worshipping the same God as you, and neither should your daughter.
You are so wrong and selfish to not let your kid speak. How could you sit there, telling your daughter to be thankful? Thankful for what? A parent who is so egotistical that they think they are better than anyone else? You’re such a savior, but then you refuse to let your daughter talk about her feelings. She is ten times stronger than you, yet you feel the need to silence her because you can’t handle it! You are the one who should be in therapy, not her! You’re the one having problems and she’s the lost teenager trying to clean up your mess. But go on, tell her how thankful she is to be God’s Gift to you! No really, I bet she’ll appreciate that! Look at all the adoptees on Confession of an Adoptee! Adoptees go through so much, you have no idea. I’ve been through and heard so many experiences of other adoptees. You know what? If this sounds like you, All I have left to say is this: You’re a bad parent for putting your ego, feelings, or religion ahead of your own child. You are doing so much damage, that if emotional scars were visual, your kid would be covered with tape and put in a cage. That’s exactly what you are doing to them when you cut them off and tell them one of your reasons why they’re wrong for having HUMAN EMOTIONS.
Just stop it! Put your ego down for once and listen to us! - @luckychinesegirl
Level 1: Enemies to lovers
Level 2: Enemies to lovers to awkward exes who can’t avoid running into each other because they’re in intersecting lines of work
Level 3: Enemies to lovers, except they never actually stop being enemies, and frankly everyone’s getting a little concerned
Level 4: Enemies to lovers, but from the perspective of someone who’s only peripherally involved with the central drama and struggles mightily to keep track of who’s killing and/or fucking whom
Level 5: Enemies to co-defendants
honestly though?
give me Demigods who isn’t anything like their parents.
give me sunny, happy, optimistic children of Nemesis. Who forgives more often then not, and doesn’t really do anything too bad when they do give what is due.
give me surly, grumpy, goth kids of apollo. Who struggles with depression, prefers music that’s loud and screaming, and who can’t stand the sight of blood so they make a terrible healer.
give me ready to fight, athletic and grim kids of aphrodite, who is always up at 6 AM doing drills with swords, who never uses makeup and only wears sweatpants and a tank top.
give me beautiful, social, peaceful children of ares. Who likes poetry, wears frilly clothes and colorful makeup, and always looks uncomfortable and surly when they do sword practise.
give me hot mess, party animal, wild children of Athene. Who goes drinking at parties a lot, they only ever look put together at a party, wearing sweatpants and sunglasses during the day, never reading or doing math because they could get a headache in other, more pleasant ways y’know?
Basically, give me something more then that small snippet of Nico being geeky and happy. Something more then Piper liking black clothes.
Anonymous said:Your god x human prompts were really cool…. Do you ever think you could do some more?
finemus said:Hello! Could you maybe do some demigod prompts/storyline ideas? Thank you ☺// Anonymous said:Got any prompts about Demi-gods?
Anonymous said:Could we get some more prompts with gods/goddesses?
1) “It’s alright,” the god murmured. “It’s going to be alright.” The human shook, no witty words or eyerolls for once - heaving for air that didn’t want to come. Crumpled in grief all the fragility of humankind seemed most on show. “Will I see them again? In the afterlife?” “You know I can’t tell you that.” “Yeah, well, you couldn’t fucking save them either so what the hell kind of god are you? What’s the point of you!?”
2) “You would smite a village just to get at me?” the demigod’s voice cracked. “They’ve done nothing to you! They are good, devout, innocents.” “They were guilty the second they attempted to harbour you from me,” his father said. “Their ignorance of their guilt does not lessen the sin. If you were a less willful son you would not need so strict a hand to guide you.” “If you were less shit father then-” the demigod’s mouth clamped shut, involuntarily. He seethed. “You will no longer spend time among mortals,” the god decreed. “Your unruliness is not your fault, you are right. I have let you down. Now I will make you better.”
3) The demigod knelt down in the confessional booth, head bowed. “Forgive me father,” they released a shaky breath. “For I have sinned.”
4) “You know,” the demigod murmured, bracing an arm against the wall and eyeing the top of the human’s head. “Most of them can’t take their eyes off me, but you refuse to so much as meet my gaze. Do you perhaps envision I have a basilisk’s stare? Or are you so devout as to believe you have no right to look upon a child of the gods?” “I did not realise you cared if I looked upon you or not. You are hardly lacking people to lay themselves at your altar, you hardly need me to do so as well. That would just be excessive.” A grin tugged at the demigod’s lips - rather more used to adoration, to those who begged for blessing, some divinity shed to their own selves by rubbing shoulders with something more.
5) The goddess looked down at the believer, so sweet and faithful. Her head tilted. “Do you understand what it is you are offering, child?” “All I am is yours, there is nothing left to offer.” The girl trembled with terror. The goddess’ lips pursed thin. This damn cult, what had they done? She turned to them with rage like ice. “How dare you?” They startled. “Is the sacrifice not to your liking? She has been well trained-” “She’s terrified!” She gathered the girl closer, protectively, lest they punish her for a goddess’ displeasure. “You imagine my love to be enslaving?” What had they done to her legacy in her absence? This was monstrous. It was all wrong.
Cry not for me, wolf child. Close your eyes and breathe with the forest. She misses your footsteps
How I Build a Den
Okay so in response to my Cubbing Season post @felidaea has said that they do have the urge to den but don’t know where to start, and this is gonna get way, way too long to send in ask messages, so here is my method of building a den. Maybe with pictures, maybe just with descriptions, maybe I’ll post pictures separately when my phone is charged. But yeah, here goes nothing!
Location, Location, Location!!
You’re gonna want to pick a corner (corners are easiest to use since two of your “walls” are already made for you!) that you spend a lot of time in now, or that you’re capable of spending a lot of time in once the den is built there. What is the point in building a den you won’t use?
If you live with other people, make sure it’s somewhere out of the way
If you have a choice, use a softer “ground” like carpet.
Personally, I use the top half of my bed as the “floor” of my den because my bed is in the corner of my room. It’s also in my own personal space o nobody cares what I do with it
Bare Bones–Three Walls and a Roof
You’re gonna want exactly what the title says: three walls and a roof. If you managed to find a corner, great! Two of your walls are already premade–if not, you’re gonna have to make them.
You can set up cushions, chairs, cardboard boxes, poles, anything and everything that is stably free-standing as your “walls” or as corners to hold up your walls.
Make sure your walls/corner pieces are high enough up that when you put a roof on, you can at least sit comfortably.Remember that the roof will sag a little, so if it feels “just high enough, barely”–get something taller.
Your roof will probably be a blanket/sheet, and your walls can be too if you have only found corner pieces!
Personally, I attach a blanket to my curtain rod, as well as to a pole, and then tuck it over the back of my headboard. This makes a roof and a wall all in one–and my headboard and my room wall are the other two walls of the den.
You can attach these things however you want–if you are attaching things to your walls, I suggest thumb tacks! If you are hanging things from slimmer headboards, potato chip bag clips work wonders to hold blankets on corners. Again, get creative and use what you have at hand. The blanket is literally just tied to my pole–nothing fancy haha!
Flesh it out!
Okay, you’ve got walls and a roof, but nothing else. Now it’s time to customize it! GRAB EVERY SPARE BLANKET AND PILLOW IN YOUR HOUSE. ROB YOUR HOUSEMATES OF THEIR PILLOWS. STEAL THEIR SHEETS WHILE THEY’RE AT WORK. Just kidding, haha! But seriously, the more stuff you can den with, the better! Now that you have a small space, you want to make it as comfy as possible. I have three comforters, four pillows, a body pillow, two pelts and a soft mount in my den. Line the corners so there are no harsh edges, then just customize the space the fit your body–sprawled out or curled up, whatever you have the space/desire for. And trust me when I say that even if you’re on a bed or something, putting a blanket down as a liner for the whole floor of the den is extremely necessary for maximum comfort.
This part is totally up to you now. You can add lights if you want to be trendy, or keep it dark, make designated spaces for electronics/chargers, whatever you want to make everything comfortable for you. You don’t actually have pups/kits, so this space is entirely yours! Get creative!
Okay, that’s all I can think of for making a den! It’s not as hard as it sounds, really, and once you get started, you’ll have trouble stopping, even if you’re done! It’s so much fun and feels so good this time of year.
Felidaea, if you need more help, like with specifics and stuff, feel free to shoot me an ask or IM me. I’ll help you pick a location and get started building and clarify anything that may be hard to understand!
They say that the forests are older than man, older than the gods. They say the forests are dangerous. When you run through the trees listening to her melodious howls, you feels as if everything you were told about the wood was wrong.

Cultural Dark Academia
After my last post about the lack of representation in academia, I felt it neccessary to provide some examples of what I’m talking about. Obviously there are more countries in the world than I can list and provide books for, so for a quick list this is what I got. !! Keep researching !! If you have any more books by POC please reply them !! If a country isn’t listed, that doesn’t mean it’s not important, this is just what I could get together real quick. If I made any mistakes, please let me know, we’re all learning. We need to help each other end eurocentrism in academia, so value representation and educate yourselves 💓💓💓

Types of Dark Academia characters, according to their outfits
The narcissist with lots of secrets: Black turtleneck, with a gold coin necklace over top. A tartan mini skirt, or checked trousers. Trench coat. Red lips and dark eyes. Books in languages no-one else understands. Thinks they’re better than you, and probably are.
The messy researcher: Cosy jumpers with shirt collars poking out. Slouchy tartan trousers. Dark socks and oxfords. Old-school messenger bag bursting with various notes and journals. Has started about 30 projects or books in the past week, and hasn’t finished any of them.
The garden party prep: Sweater vests. Pale khaki trousers/chinos, or a traditional white midi dress. Socks pulled up. Boat shoes. Expensive watch. Might play some cricket or croquet later.
The student dreamer: Knit cardigans over knee-length skirts or pinafores. Mary-Janes or ballet flats. Bouncy hair and wide eyes. Sometimes a beret. Likes autumn, and writing long letters.
The aspiring professor: Tweed. Wears suits to class. Coats and blazers waistcoats and undershirts and trousers/skirts, all in tweed or tartan, browns and greys. Kind of intense. Secretly on the verge of a nervous breakdown, but at least they have great notes.
The edgy poet: Oversized, unbuttoned plaid shirts or blazers over turtlenecks. Cigarette trousers. Combat boots. Black coffee. Actually very sentimental, but also might have accidentally killed someone with their classmates.

The OTP+ Meeting The Fam
Meeting or interacting with important people in each other’s lives + meeting people in general. Mix and match ‘em!
1. Bringing their partner(s) to a family function, but something like a graduation party where they won’t have to be the center of attention.
2. A member of A’s Bi/Multilingual Fam teaching B a few words and phrases. (Or A teaching B some things like “thank you” and “hello” beforehand)
3. Visiting a grave/memorial
4. “Don’t I know you from somewhere?”
° “Yes! I remember you from… !”
° “NOPE. NO. NO.”
5. Oh, so this is where you get that habit from.
6. How much pda is the otp+ willing to show in front of family?
7. too many inside jokes plz halp
8. “Are you nervous?”
“No… should I be?”
9. Dad Jokes. ( bonus: not from A Dad™)
10. “Your laugh is just like B’s.”
11. Running into some of the Fam accidentally while running errands.
12. Meeting pets.
13. Two members of The Fam are clearly in the middle of a big fight and trying to hold it together during the meeting.
14. Telling childhood stories and showing pictures and keepsakes.
15. The otp+ meeting the child/children of their partner(s).
16. Visiting someone in the Fam who’s in a care facility.
17. If A is a teacher, caregiver, or otherwise works around the same people very regularly, and B+ is meeting their class, a patient, etc. (Possibly at a social event)
18. Meeting the Fam only over the phone or a video chat, etc.
19. Meeting co-workers.
20. Finally being alone after the meeting.
“I don’t need you!” They yelled, eyes blurred with tears. “I don’t need anyone!”
“Good.” The other said quietly, which shocked them. “Because I’m done.”
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MY CHARACTER? (an ask game!)
Understanding a character’s flaws is key to making them well-rounded and believable, so send me a number (and a character, if there’s more than one option) and I’ll tell you:
a trait they have too much of (ex. too much pride = arrogance)
a trait they don’t have enough of (ex. too little pride = insecurity)
a trait they express in the wrong way
a trait they’re ashamed of
a trait they’re not ashamed of (but maybe should be)
a bad habit
something they do that hurts themself
something they do that hurts others
a reason (or excuse) they haven’t improved on any of the above OR
a way that they are improving on any of the above!
The gods have been searching for you for years. You cover your head with a hat and hide behind people with similar clothing. Your life is constant fear. You are Waldo and this is your story.
