"You are giving me that look, aren’t you? Your patented “Do it or something unspeakable shall befall you” look."
“I have no such look.”Lorena huffed, a frown creeping onto her face. She liked to think of herself as calm. Still, he hadn’t even turned around when he spoke, and she didn’t quite know what to think about this.“…Do I?”
Fredrick laughed at the comment. “Sorry, I’m just– I don’t see that face from you often. It caught me off guard. It’s similar to one my mom gave me when she found me snooping in dad’s case files.” The man squeezed her hand back though, a smile still on his face. “It’s definitely not bad.”
“Well, to be fair, if I caught you snooping around dangerous things I’m sure the look would be back.” Lorena smiled to match Fredrick’s look, her eyes soft as she swung their hands lightly. She found it funny how the two of them were reassuring each other, in a way. They always could. “Though I don’t comment on looks very much - you’re gorgeous.”
