on this blog, members will be required to @gallaghermissions in order for us to keep track of their missions and tasks, when and how it was done. we will have a points system and how much each point is worth in the navigation.
as classes begin again after a long month of bootcamp and training, we’d love to hear what classes your muses are taking for the spring term ! please use our course catalog to address the following :
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐀: 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
what classes did your muse take in the fall term ?
what were their final grades ? ( reminder : follow a basic A-D scale, with no F’s as that would mean your muse flunked out of gallagher entirely )
optional : how does your muse feel about the grades they received ?
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐁: 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌
what classes is your muse scheduled to take this term ?
how do their classes fit in with their daily and weekly schedule ? what’s their work ethic like ? how do they feel this term will go for them ?
optional : how is your muse approaching the fresh start of a new term ?
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐂: 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓
please add your muse’s chosen spring term classes to the master course list to see who they share a class with !
once you’ve completed this task, please tag @gallaghertasks !
it’s that time again ... BOOTCAMP happens every january in the break between first and second semester. this is an important assessment of each student’s status and progress in terms of their physical endurance and combat abilities. these are the things to consider while writing your task :
the first two days of bootcamp are spent grading students on their current physical standings. consult the BOOTCAMP RUBRIC to decide your character’s PRELIMINARY SCORES for each of the five graded skills : combat, strength, flexibility/agility, endurance & speed. every student’s goal is to show improvement by the end of bootcamp, so if their initial scores aren’t that high, that’s not necessarily a bad thing !
what happened each week of bootcamp ? did you character have any particular high or low points ? how you do this ( or whether you include this part at all ) is entirely up to you. we suggest a timeline of progress for your character or a select moment/moments that stood out for your character during bootcamp.
at the end of bootcamp, use the rubric once again to let us know what your character’s FINAL scores were. they should have shown at least SOME improvement, but above all, please be as realistic as possible when assessing your character’s abilities.
once you finish, please post and tag #gallagher:task and tag this blog ! try to complete this task by the last day of bootcamp – wednesday, january 27.
as the weather gets colder and the end of fall term draws near, students prepare for a short holiday break before the start of gallagher’s annual bootcamp. whether students are heading home to spend the holidays with family, traveling abroad, or staying at gallagher— everyone has a plan, or something close to it. the fall semester wraps up on 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘, 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟑, when winter break begins. gallagher’s campus will briefly open to the public and students who stay will have the opportunity to venture into town at their own will. break will end and campus will close once again on 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘, 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝟒, when bootcamp will officially begin.
your task is to tell us what your muse will be doing over winter break ! are they spending it at home ? vacationing somewhere tropical ? enjoying a peaceful campus or exploring roseville ? tell us about it ! feel free to explain using bullet points, self-paras, graphics, etc. be sure to tag @𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐒 and send it to the #𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑-𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐒 channel on discord so we can keep track of participants.
we know many of you have already thought about your characters’ family trees, so we thought it’d be fun to take that a step further ! instead of just focusing on the members of their family and what they may look like, we’d like to know more about interfamily dynamics. not only if your character get along with their parents, but why or why not ? how do they relate to their siblings or how do they feel about being an only child ? do they have any noteworthy extended family ? in the spy world, family can mean a legacy to live up to or an unsavory past to leave behind. feel free to include as much or as little information as you want, but this is a great opportunity to either do some character building or share with the group some headcanons you’ve yet to include on your blog !
does your character keep a diary or journal? probably not but they do now! we’d like to see a diary entry from your character, whether that’s a bullet journal or a running to-do list or therapist mandated introspection/venting about fears and concerns. everyone journals differently so take a moment to consider how your character would write in a diary, if it’s the one place where they’re completely open and honest, if it’s a log to record and remember their daily life, or something else entirely. there are no guidelines or restrictions, though if you’d like to use this task as a character building exercise, that’s fantastic!
finals are finishing up, the end of year event is around the corner, and soon our favorite students will be be officially done with the school year ! with some gallagher students graduating, some going to berlin, some with other plans, and witness protection students heading home and alumni mentors moving on from their time at gallagher, there’s a lot of different paths to follow.
your task is to tell us what your muses will be doing this summer. if gallagher students ARE going to berlin, explain what they’ll be doing throughout the month of june, from moving out day at gallagher to arriving in berlin. if they are NOT going to berlin, explain what they’ll be doing throughout the whole summer. seniors can also include their post-gallagher plans.
witness protection students & alumni can participate as well -- simply explain what their plans are as soon as they leave gallagher !
feel free to use bullet points, write as a self-para, some kind of graphic, go buckwild tbh. please make sure to tag @gallaghertasks & include in the tasks channel on discord, so we can keep track of who participates.
we really do be out here vibing at gallagher . with admin deanna newly obsessed with pinterest ( we won , y’all ! ) . here’s the latest task :
create an aesthetic of your character based on outfit and clothing preferences . it can be as simple as linking your character’s pinterest with a single edited photo , using a moodboard template ( link for some templates ) , or whatever you prefer to do ! go wild , have fun , and show us what it’s like to see your character walking around the halls .
since missions are suspended for the rest of the semester , completing this task will put you in the running for the opportunity for your muse to be included in an upcoming plot drop . so the admins can keep track of who completes these , PLEASE tag @gallaghertasks and include it in the discord server channel .
new task time ! this one’s pretty self-explanatory : create a playlist INSPIRED by your muse . get create with it , we recommend 6-12 songs but feel free to go wild .
since missions are suspended for the rest of the semester , completing this task will put you in the running for the opportunity for your muse to be included in an upcoming plot drop . so the admins can keep track of who completes these , PLEASE tag @gallaghertasks and include it in the discord server .
it’s been a long and harrowing week for both the students of gallagher and georgetown . the school has finally implemented at least three mandatory therapy sessions ( on the plot drop we said one , but we decided to do three since it makes more sense and they get help over a period of time ) every two weeks for every student , at push of some of the alumni . this task will only cover their first session . the admins figure these kids need some therapy anyways . under the cut you’ll find instructions for this task ! 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓: some of these questions WILL have to do with ptsd and mental health , so if you think there’s a possibility of being triggered by these , please do not take the quizzes or fill out the surveys . 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐍𝐃 this is not a mandatory task , but do know that all the students will be going to therapy in character .
the following questions will be a set of questions characters will need to answer . write the answers in SCRIPT or SELF-PARA form if your character answers these questions to the best of their ability , but if your character is lying , you MUST write a self para in order for us ( the readers ) to understand their thought process and true feelings .
did you know either of the victims : amelia taylor or cassie snyder ? if yes , how well did you know them ?
how have your sleeping and eating patterns been ?
do you find yourself thinking about the event even when you don’t want to ? if yes , what are the most frequent images ?
do you avoid thinking or talking about the event ?
do you avoid going places or being in situations that remind you of the event ? if yes , what are these places ?
do you have nightmares about the event ? if yes , please describe these nightmares to the best of your ability .
do you feel easily startled or anxious ? give examples .
do you worry about being harmed or feel “on guard” ? give examples .
do you feel detached or “numb” ? how so ?
do you feel shame or guilt about the event or about problems related to the event ? what do you think is causing this same or guilt ?
do you find that you act irritable or angry ? in what ways ?
do you act oppositional , act out sexually , or abuse alcohol or drugs ?
inform us where your character falls in the following categories , the results will be what their counselor determines about your character . answer these in accordance with how your characters answered the above questions .
PTSD SCREENING
GRIEF QUIZ
feel free to go more into detail of your characters thoughts or what not , you can really make this your own ! also feel free to add more questions or have your character go more into detail . you can also come up with your own follow up questions ! remember that we look at who’s done the tasks and the quality of the tasks when we decide which characters get to be featured in the next plot drop or mission . but it isn’t fully based on tasks , and we look at activity and plotting too ! please tag @gallaghertasks when you finish and post your task , we can’t wait to see them !
dances just for the sake of it aren’t the school administration’s BIGGEST concern , so it was the PARTY PLANNING COMMITTEE’s job to put together a lovefest fit for even the most hard-hearted student at gallagher . headed by kass sutton & jas michaud , it’s possible the committee went a little bit overboard , filling the ballroom with bright pink heart-shaped balloons , colorful snacks laid out on a red lace tablecloth & and all the best love bops ever written . but who doesn’t LOVE LOVE ? for those who aren’t lucky in love this year , the committee has put together a MATCHMAKER SURVEY to pair up single students ! MORE INFORMATION will be under the cut !
THE TRUE STUDENT BODY OF GALLAGHER ACADEMY receives an email the sunday before classes begin that there will be an assembly bright and early monday morning , before the witness protection students can even fathom waking up yet , before even the earliest classes are set to begin . nobody dares to miss it , not when president sutton sent out the email blast personally from her office .
it’s the start of the semester , WHICH MEANS : there will be new classes for the students ! what are they taking ? are they enjoying it ? since we’ve never gone in depth with what classes are offered , we decided it’s better late than never . remember , doing tasks and having a good activity is how we determine who’s characters go on missions !
PART ONE: what classes did your characters take last semester ? what were their grades on a basic A-F scale ?
feel free to go in on how they felt about their grades , but it’s not necessary !
PART TWO: what classes are they taking this semester ? how does it fit in with their daily and weekly schedule ?
again , feel free to go in on how they feel starting this semester , etc. again , it’s not necessary !
PART THREE: you can find the course finder here , and general information here .
please tag @gallaghermissions when you have it posted , because we’d love to see it !
it’s the most wonderful time of the gallagher year ! BOOTCAMP happens every year during the break between first and second semester, designed to make sure that no matter what your major is, everyone is keeping up with their physical stamina. since we’ve gotten quite a few questions related to it, our task is going to be about your muse’s time in bootcamp :
the first two days of bootcamp are spent being graded on your current physical standings. using our handy-dandy BOOTCAMP RUBRIC, please start by finding your muse’s preliminary scores for each of the five graded skills : combat, strength, flexibility/agility, endurance & speed. remember that these grades will be used as a standard to make sure by the end of the program, these scores will show improvement.
what happened throughout the three and a half weeks at bootcamp ? what was your muse’s highs ? what were their lows ? let us know how they fared well throughout the grueling weeks, or write a self-para from one specific moment that stood out.
finally, using the same rubric, let us know what their scores were during the end of bootcamp. they should have shown at least SOME improvement -- but as a reminder, please make sure to keep it realistic with your muses.
FOR WITNESS PROTECTION STUDENTS : write about your muse’s thoughts on either the bootcamp program that they keep hearing everyone talk about ( they’re made to believe that it’s a physical education mandatory gen-ed for the school ) OR how they’re settling in, now that online classes have begun. ( these online courses they take are basic gen-eds or electives, NOT anything specific for their major, per how georgetown will be eventually transferring the credits back. )
once you finish, please post and tag #gallagher:task as well as the missions blog ! as always, completing tasks will help your muses get selected for future missions or to be included in plot drops. please complete this task by the last day of bootcamp -- sunday, january 26.
simultaneously , every single student’s phone rings with a text , voicemail , and email . all it says is CODE RED ! written repeatedly , and followed up with a reminder for older students , and an update for first years :
with this being the last task before the new years , of course we’re going to do a new years resolution based task ! this is pretty self explanatory , but get more details under the cut . as per usual , each time you do a task within the first two weeks of it being posted , you are included in the mix for the next mission or plot drop ! so do your tasks , and make sure you @gallaghermissions so that we can read it !
𝚆𝚁𝙸𝚃𝙴 𝚃𝙷𝚁𝙴𝙴 𝚁𝙴𝚂𝙾𝙻𝚄𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 your character made for this year ( 2019 ) and whether or not they completed them or not .
𝚆𝚁𝙸𝚃𝙴 𝚃𝙷𝚁𝙴𝙴 𝚁𝙴𝚂𝙾𝙻𝚄𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 your character will make for the new year year ( 2020 ) and how they plan to achieve them .
if your character 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍’𝐓 𝐃𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 ...
have them write 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 for the past year and upcoming year ( thats twelve total ) .
feel free to do both ! it won’t ~extra~ qualify you for missions , but we think it could be fun .
everyone’s surprised when mission cards are given out only a week after the last one had concluded. WHISPERS circulate that the two missions, as well as the new information about the property that was once blackthorne, must be connected in some way -- why else would the school send another group of students out shortly after finals week ?
the four chosen students have a few abnormalities in their mission cards that they mull over before arriving to the basement. it’s not often missions take place on a saturday morning, before most of the gallagher students are around to watch them pile into the basement elevator. the card also tells them specifically to dress casual, as they would out in town, though nothing too flashy or vibrant. BLENDING IN will be the number one priority for them today.
they’ll soon learn from their faculty advisor that, like one of the earlier missions this semester, they’ll be visiting the former BLACKTHORNE INSTITUTE campus. gallagher has not been the only campus to blow up about the fate of the former spy school ; the news about a nuclear power plant being built in virginia ignited a spark of outrage on the georgetown university campus as well. the university’s own amnesty international club has taken the initiative to make sure students are aware of what plans mr. atkins has for the property only a few hours away from campus.
what began with a letter writing campaign to the state and calling their local representatives has now escalated : the amnesty international club is hosting their own peaceful protest rally on the edge of blackthorne grounds, inviting all students, locals and believers in the first amendment to show up for the cause. they believe strongly that a nuclear power plant would not only ruin the bordering towns around it, but potentially cause HUGE health concerns for its neighbors.
despite the promise of peaceful protests, the event is being flagged by gallagher as the potential for danger --- they believe the enterprise owned by mr. atkins may have more up their sleeve than they’re letting on, and will not react kindly to people second guessing them.
all four students will be posing as various protestors : JOSEPHINE TRAN and GRAYSON BERKSHIRE will arrive together, posing as students from georgetown university with a particular interest in joining the club that’s leading the protest. RHYS CROMWELL and ISABELLA TAYLOR will arrive in a second car, and will shortly after split up. their primary focus is to stay as invisible within the crowd as possible, checking the protest space for any threats that may arise. should anyone ask, they’re locals coming out to show their support.
should any danger become apparent, backup can be issued with a single call. forgot any covert operations or threat elimination finals they may have had : THIS will be the ultimate test.
