A GAME OF QUEENS:

↳ Margaery Tyrell is the only daughter of Lord Mace Tyrell and his wife, Lady Alerie Hightower. Margaery is married to Renly Baratheon, as a pledge of the Tyrells’ support for his claim to the Iron Throne. She rides with him to Bitterbridge, where they attend a great melee and encounter Lady Catelyn Tully. When word arrives that Stannis Baratheon has besieged Storm’s End, Renly departs with his cavalry and leaves Margaery at Bitterbridge with his infantry. After hearing Renly has been killed at Storm’s End, the small council sends Petyr Baelish as an envoy to Bitterbridge. The Tyrells ally with the Lannisters by planning to wed Margaery to King Joffrey I.

Here is why I wish Loras and Sansa were best friends:

Both unable to leave King’s Landing, a place they both at one time had pleasant memories associated with

Both forced to be in King’s Landing because of their House

Both are traumatized by King’s Landing because they aren’t allowed to openly grieve (and they could grieve TOGETHER!!! THEY COULD VENT TO EACH OTHER!! THEY COULD HOLD EACH OTHER!!! THEY COULD CRY TOGETHER!!!)

Both achieve ideal gender presentation for their society, which makes both of them get weird, nostalgic Lannister psuedo-mentors they never asked for, who they could snark on together (and could snark on them together but also express concern about whether they’re right on certain things, and help each other figure out when they’re being gaslighted).

They both love songs and have put a lot of stock in believing in what society has taught them to, but now they’re both grappling with realizing parts of that are a huge myth designed to keep them complacent. Parts of that are easier for one to understand than the other, and they help each other cope. Also, they can compare favorite songs and share happy memories connected with them.

Share escapism talking about their respective homes

Having someone to come out to who isn’t in his family would be SO THERAPEUTIC to Loras, like it’s clear through his HUGE hinting to Jaime in ASOS after Jaime makes it clear he knows that Loras is dying to talk about Renly to somebody, and Sansa would love to hear it. Sansa would think their love would be one for the songs and she wouldn’t laugh when he said stuff like “when the sun has set”, she would get it so completely

Loras would be so horrified at the thought of losing a member of his family, he would be SO sympathetic to Sansa and be so fiercely protective of her, good grief (no pun intented)

Theoretically they could sneak off to the sept and get politically married and eventually go back to Highgarden and play with the puppies there and talk about cute boys and poetry
