The Do’s & Don’ts of eating sushi ...
her friend is so embarrassed they’re never ever having sushi again
Why are there so many white people in the notes angry about this humorous post about the polite way to eat sushi?
I forgot, is cleansing your palate with hand soap a do or a don’t?
Hamlet: Don’t fear death. Fear the state in which you will die.
Laertes: I was always afraid of Denmark.
breakfast + dinner
These are the kinds of images I live for.
This is a terrible Kiss spot. There’s no room for the band to set up anywhere.
What’s his name!?
Me: [writing a story but stop because I can’t remember a characters name.]
Me: [asks friend] Hey, what’s the red paladin’s name?
Her: Are you talking about Keith?
Me: Keith!!! I knew it wasn’t Rick!
Her: What!! He doesn’t even look like a Rick.
Me: No one ever looks like a Rick.
Her: True. Also, you could have just looked it up
Me: No I couldn’t because I didn’t remember his name.
Me: [5 minutes prior, typing] “What’s Rick’s name?”

I just clicked on a sponsored post and I feel dirty.
USA: Memory stick
UK: USB drive
Nederland: :):)USB stick:):):):)
I have never in all my life heard the weird variations anyone else has put in the notes on this post, it has always been flash drive to anyone and everyone I’ve ever met
in poland we call it “pendrive”
My Mother: That card thing.
Why do cat-themed superheroes always have to be women? Why can’t we ever get a Catman? And why do they always have to be agile, perfect thieves obsessed with shiny things? Every cat I’ve ever met is just a lazy lump of pure chaotic energy that cares more about swatting at anything remotely string-shaped than all the most expensive toys in the universe, and who fall off any surface they stupidly jump on because they’re fucking fools who don’t understand their own limits. I want that properly represented.
Once Again, 3AM Pop is 100% right about everything.
this is Chat Noir erasure
Miss Fury - Wears an African Panther suit, has enchanted claws, beats up bad guys and saves babies from burning buildings.
Black Cat + Black Kitten - Linda Turner is a vigilante who takes in an orphan and trains him to be the Black Kitten. Fight crime and kill criminals.
Manx - A villain with no powers. Uses a green, steel claw to cut people’s throats.
Black Lion + Cub - The Black Lion is a big game hunter who starts going after even more dangerous game: criminals. Assisted by his brother, have no superpowers, but they do have fists.
Tiger Woman - The ruler of a small, jungle kingdom, she travelled to America to take revenge of looters who stole from her by killing all members of the exploration team. Uses a blow gun that emits a deadly powder that petrifies prey instantly.
And obviously Chat Noir, plus many more.
best earthbender in the world: toph uses earthbending to counter powerful magic used by a spirit from another dimension
I firmly believe this is the GREATEST and most extensive display of Earthbending we have ever witnessed.
Depending how you see this scene, Toph is either resisting the interdimensional pull of a vortex Wan Shi Tong opened to transport this MASSIVE building or she is SINGLE-HANDEDLY holding the entire thing up from one of its SMALLEST TURRETS
Can you even fathom?
Literally no greater amount of Earth has ever been manipulated so solidly by an Earthbender on screen. Toph is holding the ENTIRE EDIFICE SECURELY IN PLACE WHILE ONLY TOUCHING THE TINIEST TIP OF IT. WHAT A POWERHOUSE!!!!
and that was with her not knowing how to properly ground herself in sand
um so also…I just realized how long she holds this thing in place????
not only is it long enough for Katara to escape Wan Shi Tong and play hide and seek with him
but also Sokka has enough time to run all the way back to the planetarium and chECK EVERY SINGLE DATE IN THE SEVERAL MONTHS BETWEEN THEN AND SOZIN’S COMET!?!?!?!?!
That’s like at least 60 or so days…and they give this little cutscene montage to show you how long it takes…
Toph is just up there effectively supporting the weight of a goddamn city???? from a tiny pillar of solid rock that she created in a sea of sand…FOR LIKE 20 MAYBE 30 MIN????
what OP bullshit is this…please recognize the Original Beifong like damn
largest amount of any element bent at once, no powerups necessary, and she holds that shit for half an hour?
And then the sandbenders come to kidnap Appa, which because sand, she can only sorta kinda ‘see’. So she can’t even give a good account of what happened after the fact, which has got to be fucking awful for a crap ton of reasons. This girl can hear people lying because of the increase in their heartbeat (because it vibrates their body enough that she can fucking hear it through the ground, I think) But because of the sand everything goes fuzzy and she can’t ‘see’ for shit.
And she’s like, what 12-13-ish at the time. Like seriously, it’s freaking ridiculous.
Literally the only comparable feat I can possibly think of is that time that Kyoshi moved that whole Island, separating it from the mainland. And…. she was the fucking Avatar (I don’t actually remember if she had to go into the avatar state to do that but I think she did)
Like look, Bumi bending shit with his face is pretty awesome. But Toph holding this entire fucking building up…. geeze.
Also…. when she’s older, in LoK, she lives in that swamp where she can basically ‘see’ like everything! The earth bending awesome that let’s her map out her environment, that let’s her hear people’s heart’s speed up when they lie, that let’s her find little particles of earth in metal…. expanded to the point where she can ‘see’ what’s going on like half a fucking continent away.
I love her so much.
(also I think the likely scenario is that the building is getting dragged through an interdimensional vortex, given that in LoK the library ends up in the spirit world so *shrug*)
- Leon
I’m actually surprised that the spire didn’t just break off. Like the physics don’t add up. Since it was in sand and she was pushing against it, it should have just tilted away from her.
Help me pick a title!
“The Legend of Demurga” is the current title, but it’s a bit boring, so I’d like to change it. (I’ll still tag everything ‘demurga’). I have a couple of ideas for new titles but would appreciate a second opinion…
“What Do We Owe?”
“Human Machines”
“From the Mind Down”
“The Return to Dust”
“What Do We Owe?” sounds cool, although “The Return to Dust” is alluring as well!!
“Human Machines” is intriguing but I don’t know enough about the story to recommend it.
I first vote for “The Return to Dust,” then “From the Mind Down.” Maybe “Human Machines” if it suits the story better than the other titles.
ideas needed
main character and one of the secondary characters sneak around main offices buiding on a flying city - the Capitol, to be exact.
they stumble upon a locked door ona platform that can be reached but no one can leave without outside help.
they open the door to find something that should have stayed locked down
the question is - what was it?
Clarification, do you want something/someone that should have stayed inside the locked door? Or something that is necessary to the city?
something that makes you close the door immediately after seeing it, something that you would rather completely forget about and you curse the day you were made aware of its existence :D
1. An evil, monstrous form of the person who opened the door.
2. One million hamster wheels all powering the fans that keep the city afloat.
3. A swarm of insects that eat flesh.
4. Another floating city.
5. Kids you went to high school pointing and laughing at you.
6. A house party of cannibals where one guy says “do you mind?”
7. Outer space.
8. You close the door then don’t remember why you closed it, but only know that you feel terrified.
Writing Reality: Chapter 1
A/N: This is a story I just started writing. I kind of have an idea of where I want it to go but I’m mostly making it up as I’m going along. I hope you enjoy it!
Writing Reality
Chapter 1
Sitting in the coffee shop, Bianca stared at her laptop screen as it showed her the story she was trying to write. The words sat still, the only movement being the cursor, steadily blinking. It didn't take long from when she began her one-sided staring contest for her attention to be directed at that cursor. Her mind began to give it life, turning a simple line of pixels into a character whose sole purpose was to taunt her. Each blink turned into a tick of a clock's second hand, her mind now giving the newly created character the power to manipulate time, to speed it along and rob her of the little time she had to write.
“Ugh!” She slapped the laptop screen halfway to close. I guess I've been lied to. Coffee shops don't help you write at all! She took at look around at the other patrons in the shop, half of which were working on their own scripts/novels/sketches. Bianca stared at them hoping to observe their secrets to their efficiency. Her eyes widened as a realization struck her. I bet I need to order coffee! Her face turned her nose up slightly. I hope I don't have to drink it.
She excitedly stood up to order a cup of caffeine and bumped into a man who had just entered the shop. Both stared at each other for a moment of surprise. He was a young man with scruffy facial hair. The hood he had over his head gave her pause, her whole life recognizing hoods as a sign of someone up to no good, but something else made her take a step back. It was the look on his face.
His eyes were open and swinging around wildly, never resting on Bianca for more than a half-second. His mouth was slightly agape, his lips moving but forming no words. Together all of these features formed told Bianca what the stranger was feeling and it worried her more than the hoodie.
He was afraid.
“Um..sorry,” she said hoping that he wouldn't be angry at her. She started to turn away when his eyes landed on her and stayed. She stopped, frozen with fear of her own now that he was aware of her. Down and up, down and up his eyes studied her before aiming for her eyes once more.
Bianca's mind ran through her flight options, thinking she should be safe with plenty of patrons around, but was interrupted.
“I'm sorry,” he spoke. He pulled one hand out of his hoodie pocket and tossed the object he was holding. Reflexively she cupped her hands to catch it but before it even had a chance to land in her palms, the stranger had already turned around and was halfway out the door.
Up and down, up and down her head moved between where the stranger used to be and her cupped hands. Bianca looked around her, some of the patrons looking back before going back to their own coffee and scripts/novels/sketches. With no one paying attention and the situation over, she finally took a look at what she was holding.
It was a small, wooden figure carved into a fine shape. Bianca held it closer to make out the details. It seemed to be a stumpy man holding a feather quill in one hand. She looked for it's other hand but at first glance it seemed the hand was perhaps hidden. At second glance she realized that the other hand was missing altogether.
The figure was dressed in tight pants and a flambouyant blouse, along with a flowing robe over its shoulders. All of this was represented in fine detail, able to make out ever crease and fold of the fabric it was wearing. Whoever carved this was very skilled.
Looking up at it's face, it had solid eyeballs devoid of any pupils. Considering how much detail was in the figure, she assessed that this lack of detail was an intentional choice to properly represent it's eyes. Its hair was turned up into several spikes, making it look like a spike trap an adventurer might encounter in an old Mayan temple. She almost missed its pointed ears which almost blended in with it's hair.
Finally her mind came to its face, or rather the expression it was wearing. Squinted eyes, teeth barred, mouth stretched into a grin.
It was mischief.
The thought of keeping the expertly, crafted figurine entered her mind and was making itself at home when a cold feeling came over her. Bianca was instantly uncomfortable, she felt like a spiteful force was around her, and it seemed to be emanating from what she was holding. Now her mind was in the process of kicking out the thought of keeping the trinket, throwing it's coat and hat out after it then shutting the door.
Bianca threw it into the trash can and suddenly felt relief wash over her. She sat back down and opened her laptop to be greeted by a blank, digital page. The cursor was still mocking her. After the last minute though, she was kind of happy to be frustrated by her lack of progress. It was familiar to her and something she could cope with.
The idea of writing about what just happened to her knocked on her mind, hoping to be let in, but she didn't want to think about that, so she told that idea that no one was home and slammed the door shut in its face. Instead she just decided to write words, any that came to her, even if they were terrible. Anything that would keep her mind off of the man and his trinket.
“It was a rainy day” she typed into her computer. She stopped as rain suddenly fell outside against the pavement. She looked out along with the other patrons and watched pedestrians ran for cover, trying to avoid a free shower. Bianca looked at the sentence she typed and back outside. It was a sunny day and there had been no predictions of rain.
Okay, that was weird but just keep writing. She shook her head of any crazy thoughts and repeated the word “coincidence” over and over in her mind.
“ that was soon joined by thunder and lightning” she continued typing. Light flashed followed by a baritone scream of thunder. Bianca jumped in her seat, several patrons gasped and a cup of coffee was lost to the floor. People outside flinched and ran even more frantically to avoid a free session of shock therapy.
Bianca's breathing began to quicken as her nerves began to take over. She shook her head and turned back to her computer, trying to drown out the noise from outside. With shaky fingers she typed more words.
“. It was a terrible storm that was only getting worse.” Outside she heard the rain fall faster and the wind blow harder. Bianca turned in her seat so that she couldn't see the windows in her peripheral vision. She was becoming increasingly afraid to type the next sentence.
Just do it. It's a coincidence. All you have to do to prove it is to type it out and then see that this is just freaky weather. She nodded her head sharply to herself. If you're afraid that means you believe something stupid, but you don't so you're going to write it. She had no confidence in that despite how hard she was trying to convince herself.
She began to type again.
“ The people in the city discovered how much worse when large pieces of hail began to plummet towards the ground.”
Her heart dropped when she heard the sound of shattering glass and screams of fear. Outside the cars were being pelted by hail of all sizes, breaking windows, setting off alarms and ruining paint jobs.
Bianca was breathing fast, fear completely taking over. She slowly shook her head side to side, trying to beg the universe to make it stop. She turned back to her laptop and smashed the “Delete” key, watching the words disappear in the opposite order they were created. Bianca looked back outside; the storm was still there. She her screen to find the words she just destroyed reborn back on her screen. Her eyes moved to the side and her heart stopped for a second.
The figurine she threw away as standing on the table next to her laptop facing her.
God, Tolkien naming his book “The Hobbit” was such a big dick move. Like, back then people didn’t know what a hobbit was. It’d be like if I released a book called “The Smarple” and 50 years later everyone just knew what a smarple was.
You do realize that now you have to write a book called “The Smarple” right?
Don’t read anything you’ve posted.
A post you wrote months ago will suddenly start getting a ton of likes and reblogs after getting no attention since you posted it and you go back to see what it is you wrote that everyone likes so much and you will realize that you forgot to add a pair of closing quotation marks and you will realize that you are a failure at life and should just go and take a firewatch job in the middle of nowhere but it turns out nothing like the game and instead of getting someone as witty and fun as Debbie you get Horace who always responds with “I don’t know what do you want to talk about?”
“Shh, it’s alright,” the villain said. “You’re doing beautifully and I’m so proud of you. But that’s enough now. It was cruel of them to make you fight me - you could never have won. It’s not your fault.”
The ancient and powerful villain may have had a calm and gentle face as he spoke, but he was furious, not at the hero, but the gods for continually sending kids and teenagers to fight their battles.
Scooby Apocalypse (2018)
It looks like Secret Squirrel only survived for 29 issues.
