It's crazy how I can see this sort of scene playing out between Morty Prime and Eyepatch Morty, with both of them playing either role:

1a) At a first, superficial glance, Eyepatch Morty is more similar to the more aloof, geared up, and in control Space Beth.

1b) But he is also the one who is more blatantly traumatized --up to now-- and likely to keep trying until he was literally unable to move.

2a) On one hand, I can absolutely not see Eyepatch Morty hurting Morty Prime, neither or purpose nor --like Domestic Beth did-- on accident (Eyepatch Morty does not lose control of himself), so he could totally be playing the part of Space Beth who tries to calm an overwhelmed Morty Prime (even him telling Morty Prime "you've shot me and I still don't want to hurt you"; cause Morty Prime keeps being aggressive to Eyepatch Morty, even trying to get him shot, but since season one, EM has not once tried to harm Morty Prime)

2b) On the other hand, I can totally see Eyepatch Morty finally having a much delayed meltdown and frantically putting everything he has up in self-defense, desperate to be left alone, further hurting himself if he was already injured, and being unable to trust Morty Prime enough to let his defenses down.

3a) On the other other hand, Morty Prime could totally have a meltdown of his own. It's so much that he has been through. If you pile up on it whatever betrayal Rick C-137's "it's complicated" was, I think unimaginable anger will be simmering beneath the surface, Morty Prime about to explode unchecked when Rick C-137 says or does the wrong thing. I can see Eyepatch Morty trying to defuse a situation that has spiraled out of control and to ground Morty Prime. He would know what it's like to feel unimaginable pain and betrayal. He wouldn't want Morty Prime to get stuck in the same fate.

3b) On the other other other hand, I have the impression Morty Prime has had a healthier mindset and healthier relationships with other people overall. He may understand where Eyepatch Morty is coming from, understand the solution is not more control, more weapons, more shields, more solitude, understand that Eyepatch Morty has been silently suffering all this time, and try to break through to him. Morty Prime has been abused, yes, but not to the extent Eyepatch Morty was; he can be the one who broke the cycle without being forced to become violent.

4a) Supposing Rick C-137's undiscussed "it's complicated" really was a betrayal of some sort of cosmic proportions, I can see Morty Prime freaking out as much as Domestic Beth did: he has a lifetime of Rick always making him a priority, always wanting him around, always protecting him; but underneath it all, Rick once tried to hurt him as much as possible, and only took him under his wing out of guilt. What is real? What is meaningful?

4b) If Eyepatch Morty is a clone who has been through countless Ricks, he literally has implanted memories of Rick being nice to him, of belonging to a family, along with several real, lived, memories of being abused by said countless Ricks, of going through countless Smith families. He's as close to Domestic Beth as can be. I can see him wanting to mind-blow (...or just blow) his head just to turn the anguish into nothingness.

back on my bs again sorry but I think a big part of why Beth's whole arc and then eventual death felt so pointless is bc nobody except the audience got to see the change she had. Like nobody except us and two characters that died either immediately or very soon after. Nobody important.
