TotK No Armor Goron Responses
I saw a post showing the NPC reactions to Link wearing nothing so I took screenshots around Goron City.
My personal favorites are "Half off? You and me both" and "We got a live one!"
I'd like to share some apparent hot takes I've come into since I last was consistently posting on this app. Gonna make this sort of a thread, so I'm just gonna reply to myself a bunch of times.
Since the start of 2020, I started going through the Persona games. I've only played 3 FES, 4 Golden, 5 Royal, and Strikers. As well as the rhythm games that go with them.
But all that said, I DESPISED Persona 3. The characters? None of them great. Makoto was my least favorite protagonist, and Junpei was the worst bro character BY FAR. He's not even much of a bro. His relationship with the gang was awful to hear any time he said anything. Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Yukari were the only characters I really liked at all. I wanted to like Shinjiro, but his development kinda flat lines.
The boss fights sucked. They were needlessly hard all the time. Nyx was no exception. The game is lucky I had the patience to do that fight twice.
***SPOILERS*** The ending isn't even clear on what happens to our protagonist without playing The Answer. And I sure did TRY to play the answer. But FUCK, did I not like Aigis. She wasn't fun, her voice wasn't fun. I get she was, at least at first, supposed to be an emotionless robot, but it was not fun to listen to. Still better than fucking Fuuka's voice.
I genuinely did not like that game at all. But all that said, I'm definitely going to torture myself with Reload, because I said I'd play a remake if it ever came. Don't wanna be a liar.
And to cap off my Persona hot takes, imma do a quick talk about P4. Before I played it, I just KNEW I'd like the brunette with pig tails. I mean, look at her. She's adorable. Aesthetically, totally my type of character. And then I finally get to where I meet her, do her castle. And then actually spend time with her. And she fucking sucks? She's awful? Cat stand to hear her talk. She's almost as grating as teddie. Easily my 4th least favorite character of the main groups from the modern Persona titles, beating out only Teddie, Fuuka, and Junpei.
And to cap this off, imma talk about Adachi. I dunno if it's just a meme? But like. He's not that great if a character. I mean, he's fine. But people drool over him like crazy.
I also played through part of Shadow of the Colossus not too long ago. And uh. It fucking sucked. The boss fights weren’t fun. It didn’t feel rewarding when I beat one.
And the world? Traveling from one place to the next? Jesus fucking Christ, it felt like a chore to go anywhere! And there’s NOTHING. It’s just you, your horse, the colossi, and some fuckin lizards. Why is this game so popular?? My girlfriend watched me play it, and she ALSO thought it looked like absolute shit.
That’s pretty much all I have to say on Shadow of the Colossus. It’s a much shorter rant compared to my persona one, because I only played part of this one game rather than all of those 3.
I've got more stupid shit to say, but imma wait a little while before I spew more nonsense.
Okay, pokemon time.
I said I was gonna talk about both the anime and the games. But I realized, I don't think I have a hot take on the anime? Girlfriend and I are watching through the whole series right now, and we're in the black and white anime. And it's bad, but that seems to be the consensus. Iris is annoying, Cilan is a pale imitation of Brock. Ash is ash. Think my biggest gripe about the anime is I still vastly prefer Veronica Taylor over Stephanie natocheny. 4kids dub may not have been great, but I think it's better than the PCI dub.
But the games. Imma talk about the games. I semi recently played through every gen back to back to back in a genlocke, which is basically a mega nuzlocke, going through multiple generations. I started with first gen, and went all the way through sun and moon. Now as someone who's old enough to have been playing pokemon since RBY, I definitely have a bias to older games. But that said, the OG RBY, does not hold up, and plays like shit. But RBY isn't the point of this post. Tons of people don't like those games anymore. I'm here to talk about:
Black and White and Black and White 2. I'll start with a complement. Visually, those games hold up very well. I'm actually concerned about what GF is going to do when the duology is inevitably remade, especially after BDSP. Now, I didn't hate these games. I honestly like all the mainline games to an extent. With gens 2 and 4 being my favorites. And with all that said, I also like a lot of the Pokémon. N and Ghetsis are good challenges. Hell, the whole elite 4 in general is a challenge. And Dewott? Cool as fuck. Fave from that gen. But the game just feels... Lacking to me. That's pretty much it for BW/BW2.
Then got SM/USUM. At least as far as the nuzlocke community, people seem to like those games, and as I stated previously, I like all the mainline games. But the beginning of the game is so long and drawn out, it's unfun. And then I tried to go into USUM after beating SM, not knowing it was essentially the same game. So I can't really judge it fairly.
But that's all. These may have been more warm takes than hot.
Oh actually, to add to this, I've put it on pause, mostly due to Tears of the Kingdom, but I've been playing through the original Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. And I don't like it. It's not fun, it's grundy, the boss fights are hard, unless you. Ya know. Grind. I don't really have a lot to say about this one, other than I don't find it fun. I can appreciate a game that's hard. I love the souls games. But mystery dungeon makes me upset.
Just thought of another one, and I refuse to elaborate further on what I'm about to say, because I don't care to justify myself.
Chainsaw man sucks.

By the way here is what Toby Fox has said about Ghost Trick. JUST. SO YOU KNOW
I only just played this game for th first time when it got remastered. My girlfriend had been wanting me to play it for years, and I bought it the day it'd ame out. Beat it in like, three days, because I couldn't put it down. Fantastic story, fun, but not too challenging puzzles, for the most part. I'm glad I finally played it, and may actually go through and get all the achievements.

cannot believe there are people who aren't familiar with the 2002 movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. it's not remembered as one of the animated classics of the early 00s because it's so different than other beloved movies - no talking animals, no fantasy settings, limited comedic elements - but my god did it shine in so many other ways. arguably some of the best 2D animation ever created, outstanding soundtrack, an hour and a half of pure anti-imperialism and anti-colonialism in a kid friendly story about horseys.
