On the topic of block evasion.

Have you ever been blocked? Whether that be over a conflict, an opinion you had, or no known reason, maybe you might be tempted to make a new account or blog and try to contact them on there. Maybe you might be tempted to log out and read their blog as a "guest." Maybe you might be tempted to get a friend to contact them and ask why they blocked you.

Full stop.

If somebody blocks you, that is an indication that they do not want to talk to you, they do not want to interact with you, they do not want you interacting with them, and they do not want to be associated with you in any way. They are putting up a boundary.

It doesn't matter why they blocked you. They can block you for so much as liking apples more than oranges. They don't even need a reason to block you. The only reason needed for blocking someone is that you want to.

You can block anyone and everyone on this site as long as you want to. And if somebody blocks you, you leave them alone. Don't try to get your friend to ask them why. Don't make alternate accounts to ask them why or to continue an argument. Don't even touch their blog in any capacity.

And I can't believe I have to say this, but block evasion isn't limited to interaction. If you're getting a friend to send you screenshots of their posts or making an alt/logging off to read their posts, that also counts as block evasion, because you are circumventing a block so that you could do something that you wouldn't be able to do on an account that was blocked by the person.

People have boundaries for a reason. People don't owe you an explanation, they don't owe you the privilege of reading their posts, and they definitely don't have to interact with or see you online if they don't want to.

Stop block evading. Period.

my family is based in Oahu, but i consider all the islands my home even though i physically haven’t stepped foot on them before. seeing all the homes and history and memories being lost in this hurts.

if you are unable to donate, don’t feel guilty—doing things like spreading the word and making people aware of the situation helps as well. thank you for whatever you can do! mahalo

UPDATE: removed Maui Mutual Aid Fund for now because upon further research using the charity checking sites provided by this gov site, it doesn’t appear in results unlike the others listed. so i advise caution for now if you decide to donate there! they may still be legitimate, but i want to exercise caution.

Some local Hawai’i artists are also donating 100% of their sales this week to Maui relief. (These are only the ones I know of offhand) Geoffrey Siu (creator of Gentlemons/Pokema’ams and other original art) JimmyxSparrow (Wide variety of art, does fusions of Pokemon and Hawaiian culture) Laulima (Native Hawaiian flora and fauna pins and so on)

Any help is definitely welcomed because many locals there are displaced and are now homeless. With cell service down back on Tuesday and were last told to stay in place, many had to quickly evacuate with just their clothes on their back and nothing else.

FYI for international donations, it seems like the Maui United way fund doesn't take international donations, you have to have a US phone number and Zip code.

Also the Maui Strong Fund has a $25 dollar minimum donation. I haven't checked out the other two so if that doesn't work for you then try one of the others.

Ganondorf and I are happily celebrating. Today is a very successful and great day, I spent most of the morning looking for the right health insurances, and was able to qualify for a beneficial claim that won't destroy my wallet. Life is cool that way.
