What do you think about nintendo opting for the classic young Ganondorf from OoT for Smash Ultimate?
From the thinkable outcomes, I have to say that Iām relieved. And as much as Iād love to have a TP skin as an option, OoT Ganondorf feels like a fair second best. Iāll miss his beard a lot though.Ā
Thereās only one thing I notice that kind of puzzles me;
What on earth is going on with his headpiece?
Compared to the artwork Iād say they blowed it up a little too much. This is just my personal taste speaking, but it looks like a metal dragonfly with big marbles stuck on it. With all the marbles so big, it lacks contrast and balance.
I mean all right, in OoT they made that jewel on his forhead look like a giant caterpillar...
Speaking of headpieces, TP Ganondorfās piece looks kind of like a frog. They rendered that one quite accurately though.
I guess making a headpiece that doesnāt look like a bug or a frog is a mighty challenge, so we might as well accept it.
Letās not forget how TP Ganondorf almost became this gorgeous chicken man (The headpiece shaped like an alien race car):
However, if a huge dragonfly on his forehead is all I have to accept, Iāll be happy to see Ganondorf being his younger, edgy self.
In Smash 4 they somehow made Ganondorf too soft and rounded - very obvious on the WiiU, not as visible on the 3DS. But he doesnāt look very evil, heās just a grumpy old man.
That aside, the TP and OoT versions each radiate their own kind of vibe. TP Gan is this big block of a dude, while OoT Gan is this rebel-looking medieval biker.
As a casual gamer I canāt say much regarding his moveset.Ā But his up-tilt animation looks hella fine - Iām fairly excited about his animations.Ā Looking forward to the gameās release!
