WHILE understanding that a hereditary ruling class is a fuck-stupid thing to have IRL, I have no intention of leaving off reading and writing about secondary-world nobles and/or royalty. It lets you elevate family drama to extremely weird levels and really raise the stakes on questions of obligation, tradition, inheritance, and being tied into a job you actually might fucking suck at. Feels like all my life I’ve been seeing finger-wagging about how it’s more virtuous to write about regular folks, and how dumbass fantasy fans just project themselves onto princes and princesses because they’re in denial that their ancestors did physical labor, and I’m like, “irrelevant. Sometimes you just want to see sibling rivalry escalate to stabbings”
I'm fine with it but I read alot of otome isekai and it basically devloes Into some weird propaganda with "actaully royalty was always good" and shows peasants as these greedy assholes who are always troubling there superior noble masters
People start rewriting history cause wow rich people have it way worse and slavery was acually good
Go read one OI and I guarantee you'll become allergic to royalty MCs too
Praetorium done one word at a time by the FFXIV is Cool Discord Server.
We also have a tumblr group, do consider it!
You get to participate in unholy shitposts like this!
Remarried empress is a shit story that excuses slavery and has a mary sue MC who looks down on people of a lower class
Dosent help that the commentors buy into this mindset too and start trashing on a slave for not knowing her place and going "omg yasss my mary sue self insert. Whip those slaves omg so perfect and cool uwu" never mind the fact if Navier was real she wouldn't evrn look at the people who praise her. Newsflash she dosent give a shit if your below a Dukes class
Bacually a rich girl with a loving family and hot husband isnt getting what she wants for a year then goes on to marry and even richer hotter dide while sucking eahcothers dick on how good royalty is and how they defeated the evil slave .
Oh yeah and like real history the blame goes onto the slave woemn and sovishi is forgiven because he at the right time fell in love with the mary sue MC so all of forgiven
Why is athy who always has to take care of claude? Why is she the one who has to take his verbal abuse and humiliation. Why is she the one who has to smile even when he threatend to kill her? Why is she the one who has to throw away her own safety and mental health to appease claude whobalways testing her(and who the fuck test ther own kid to deicde whether there worthy of their love)? Why does she still have to not show her emotions after he watched her drown? Why does she have to walk on egg shells around soemone who should keep her safe In fear he doesn't explode and hurt her again?
ATHY WAS A CHILD AND THE WHOLE ASS FANDOM IS HAPPY THAT SHE ALWAYS CHOSE CLAUDE OVER HER OWN WELLBEING AND SHE WAS REWARDED WITH HIS LOVE. THIS ISNT HOW THAY WORKS. A PARENT IS SUPPOSED TO UNCONDITIONALLY LOVE THERR CHILD IF YOU CANT GIVE THEM UP FOR ADOPTION TO SOMEOME WHO WILL
Why does the fandom think her going back to the guy who abused her is a happy ending? It's not. The girl knew no real family love. The person who raised her (lily) she dosent even think of as family despite being the closest thing to it shes got. Shes to attached to family blood ties. No one told her family isnt just blood
Shes so broken that she think her relationship with claude is healthy
It's not. The story has a sad ending. The narccacist abuser was rewarded for his bad behavior and won. After literally degrading herself and suffering abuse claude after years decided to show his affection for her. Wow yay.
I get that athy forgave him. But no way in hell will Diana ever. Nor will the countless inncoent people he killed
Hella fucking based
The Good Place (2016-2020)
brah
The Good Place’s take on morality is so important to me. It never suggests that being good is easy or straightforward - quite the opposite - but it says, over and over again, that we need to try because we’re all people and we all matter.
You know who i really feel for? Felix
Hs has to take care of a volatile man child cause of his oath. He has to look after him and live with his personality. He has to see claude abusing his own daughter and other kids and go "ah yes your highness damn you a fine king so brave so kind", when really all he wants to do it pull a Jamie Lannister.
He probably cant even bring a girl around cause claude would probably throw her into the lake for looking at him funny

Holy shit this got really funny to really sad really quick
rebump
oh my god it’s the real one. I’m so used to the stupid Skyrim edit.
Am I the only one that gets so attached to characters that I feel get fucked over in stories that I wind up not being able to enjoy the story as is? Like I started reading “Who Made Me a Princess” and I’m so frustrated at Jeanette’s treatment; both by the comic and the fandom (especially the fandom). Her and Athy literally just switched roles from their LP versions. Like is anyone going to acknowledge that there is NO reason the two can’t coexist?? Neither of the girls care too much about the throne and it’s not like they can’t be siblings (or cousins since that’s what they actually are), Claude isn’t going to suddenly start despising Athy because Jeanette’s around. It’s already revealed he hated Athy because he blamed her for Diana’s death. If Claude is somehow incapable of loving more than one child than shouldn’t we as an audience direct the blame at him rather than act like Jeanette’s ruining Athy’s life? I dislike how the story is determined to take everything Jeanette had and give it to Athy and how the fandom is reveling in her misery like she somehow earned it.
Me:Oh cool I'd love to see people gusing over jennie on the Jeanette tag
You clowns: Make memes about jennie drowning and taking joy in that, and Tons of fanfcitons with Jennie being a typical evil bitch straight out of wattapad and dying gruesome deaths complete with misogyny
Yeah this fanbase seems to have such a huge issue with Jeanette. I went on her tag and half of it were fanfics involving her having a gruesome death or her being a hateful btich who was jealous of poor anthy. Like when we know shes nothing like that canonly
There literally this group on tumblr that jerks off over Jeanette dying or getting bad ends In fanfiction. Like tell me on the doll where Jeannette touched you
Ita really soemthing that half of the fanbase was giddy with joy that claude was letting Jenette drown. Like there were so much memes expressing joy on it
Wtf is wrong with people
Jeanette a literal 14 year old: wants a family and loves anthy
Clowns: wtf Shes s an evil btich stay away from claude hes only for anthy 😡😡😡. Glad claude let her drown
Claude grown ass man who should be in a nursing home: kills his daughter, dosent gove a shit kills peplle easily for breating too loud is still asshole in the new timeline and his love for anthy is fake and conditonal
Same clowns: wtf....he had such a sad childhood...omg he was manipulated by that bitch jeannete pls impregnate me
If your not pakistani and are complaning about Kamala's actress being light skinned...please dont.
Because at this point most of the complaints are coming from non Pakistani desis and are drowning out actual Pakistanis who are excited for it.
Alot of pakstanis have the same skin color and I don't want someone who isnt even from there complaning and acting like Pakistanis only have one skin tone
And stop bringing up bollywood actors. Yes its true Pakistan has it's own colourisim issues but Bollywood is an indian thing so an you stop brining it up in relation to Kamalas casting??
Dont need your unsolicited advice and the fact that those same people act like there the expert on Pakistanis skin tone while not being Pakistani themselves is....just stay in your damn lane
Now it a Pakistani themselves have an issue I will gladly engage in a conversation
Are pakistanis really that fair though? I feel like they purposefully went with someone white-passing as kamala than someone with darker skin who look might look TOO “south asian” if you get me. I think that’s why some people might be annoyed light skin poc already have so much rep
okay so I see where you’re coming from, but I think you’re a little misinformed.
when you say “south asian”, you’re referring to an incredibly varied region with numerous ethnic groups.
pakistan is so, so diverse, it’s actually astounding. you’ll never find anyone that could possibly capture all the regions because they’re all so amazingly different.
quick crash course because it’s about time pakistan had some positive rep in media and a spotlight on its colourful diversity. this is by no means an exhaustive list but some of the major groups that make up pakistan:
the largest ethnic group in pakistan are the punjabis, the eastern most province, seen here:
they fall on the lighter side of brown. iman, our new kamala khan, is pakistani. she is also on the lighter side of brown. they are all south asian.
in the north, you have the pashtuns and the kalash people:
it’s not uncommon to have very fair, european features. they are still pakistani and are no less south asian than punjabis.
in the south, you have the sindh and siddi people:
very different to their northern counterparts but no less pakistani.
in the west, you have the baloch and the hazaras:
again, still pakistani. different, but still part of the whole. still part of south asia. this is what south asians look like too.
so you see, pakistanis come in all shades, and it’s wrong to dismiss a teenager for not being the right shade of brown that fits your picture of what a south asian should look like. iman is pakistani and pakistanis seem super stoked about it, so what’s the issue?
