New additions I’ve made to attract insect and bird habitat in the garden of sustenance. I like to utilize materials found in yard, on cellar shelf, and from recycling bin.

Hi! I came across your blog and I think its really interesting as a concept; is the garden of sustenance something you do more for yourself, or is it for your community? Im really interested in it as an artistic project, if you could tell me more about it.

New plant markers for 2023 at the garden of sustenance… made from scrap wood, leftover house paint, and studio paint…

Adopt a spot garden after a hot dry summer…severe drought… the milkweed for monarch butterflies lookin great, artemisia happy, the garlic chives are just starting to bloom. The rose rugosa which had a tree cricket again got a good pruning. All the dead pricklies were removed…sigh… thanks for the hellos and well wishes to those who greet me at the stoplight.

My little urban adopt-a-spot I call the traffic light garden….red yellow green!….it has dry sunny windy conditions… I use plants that thrive in such conditions…. This is it’s third year🚦 🌿🌸🐝
