Mother sloth reunites with her baby

For an animal with an average land speed of four inches a minute that only comes down the tree every couple weeks to shit, it’s kinda sweet to see mama haul ass at the heart-stopping rate of “fatigued elderly woman forgot her receipt”

It’s especially sweet when you realize that if a baby fall out of a tree, the mother sloth cannot get it back. It’s too loud, attracts too much attention, and sloths only have enough energy to descend trees a couple times a month. If a baby sloth falls off its mother and no one helps, it’s practically dead as soon as it hits the ground.

So to see the mother climbing down, seeing that yes, someone helped. Her baby has a chance. It’s honestly insane and not something sloth’s would normally do. It’s amazing.
