Okay before I start writing another paper for psychology 101, there is something I have NOT been able to stop thing about since I watched this video (PLS WaTCH ITS SO IMPORTANT), an aretheygay video on Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby(also please go look at the wonderful and beautiful artwork by @kriikitty in response to this vid), I haven’t been able to stop thinking about something the creator of the video said. Basically a joke about how the night before Gatsby’s death when he’s telling Nick his life story, he very well could have been telling Nick all that stuff in bed. There’s no evidence against it (other than maybe Gatsby waiting for Daisy to call but I’m relatively sure at the end of the novel he’s realized that fantasy is not reality. like did he even want her to call? idk man).  And just like the image of Nick and Jay “waiting for his heterosexual love interest to call” Gatsby at like 3 a.m. in bed after making love and Gatsby revealing his past between tired kisses because he feels safe enough to share it with Nick before Nick forces himself to catch the train to get to work. That image is KILLING me

I still think that things could have been different if Nick had stayed with Gatsby instead of going to take a train for his work. If they had swum together when desperate, poor Wilson came up for shooting Gatsby and himself, well... Gatsby would have been shot but maybe alive thanks to the help from Nick, or... it's not Gatsby who got shot but his old sport.

Seriously can someone write a sequel to the Great Gatsby where Nick just kicks off a long revenge scheme against the Buchanans that will rip them down and set them on fire. Meanwhile Jordan tries to protect Daisy to the best of her abilities and tries to talk him off the ledge because Tom’s getting pushed too far and we all know what he’s like when things don’t go his way.
