i should elaborate—baz’s neutral face is a little haughty, but elegant and still technically approachable. i think simon’s neutral face when he’s zoning out looks like he’s waited his entire life to track you (his mortal enemy) down and now he’s mere seconds away from doing something that’s going to land him in prison.

My new short story is out today, exclusively on Amazon.

It's my first YA project in a really long time -- a coming-of-age story with a little bit of romance, set at a drive-in movie theater.

Audiobook by my favorite narrator, Rebecca Lowman. And lovely, nostalgic cover by Erin Fitzsimmons.

(No print edition for now, but maybe the short story gods will smile on me, and I'll get to do another short story collection someday.)

Have you heard? @rainbowrowell busted out her signature rainbow dress and green heels and hit the road for the East Coast leg of her Cherry Baby book tour. As soon as Baz heard the good news, he treated Simon to a surprise birthday book signing at their local romance bookstore! Like all her fans, both boys got in the spirit with the most adorable cherry attire.

A huge shout out to Friends to Lovers in Old Town Alexandria, just outside of DC. I popped in yesterday, asked them for "an unusual favor," and they were thrilled to let me takeover for my doll photoshoot. (Also, they would be so happy to host you Rainbow! It truly is the cutest bookstore.)

The whole gang made it out to pride this year and what better way to celebrate queer joy than with a proposal? Baz planned the entire thing, including the amazing speech he promptly forgot in the thrill of the moment. That's okay. Simon said yes before Baz could even get any words out anyway.

Yes, Simon's overalls have functional buckles and a functional front pocket on the bib. Baz sports real pockets, as well as a magnet in his hand that allows him to hold the tiny ring box with the gold band. (It has a magnet at the base!)

I painstakingly hand-sewed every sequin on Shep's jacket, Niamh's got a functional sports bra under her tee and a functional rainbow belt, and I commissioned Agatha's top since mini-crochet is one of the few skills I have not picked up yet.
