i haven’t been around and i know that, but here’s the thing: i can’t get out of bed without crying anymore. my back got hurt and my band director hasn’t been exactly working with me so i’m scared to ask to sit out, and it’s only making my back worse and worse with no idea when i can get to the doctor, so i’ve been spending a ton of time in bed just doing nothing because i am in a lot of pain. it’s making it hard to focus on drafts (when im even awake) because i’ve been getting home late and just…. hurting. once this problems solved ill be back

“you think i DON’T?” he was fine with the slaughter of innocent teens. he was FINE with getting rid of anyone who would oppose taisho, because until a few days ago, that was getting rid of anyone who opposed HIM. but now, he’s lost everything-- his power, his hair, his BROTHER. it’s too much, to be so fucking LOW there’s no returning. he’s got angry tears in his eyes, though they aren’t locked with sander’s. he’s looking at his brother’s DEAD BODY, carried only inches away from him by karen, a way to HURT HIM. a way to show him what he’s done WRONG-- as if he didn’t know. “i wish i did. i wish i burned before i met HIM. i wish calder had done what he fucking should have and just KILLED ME.”

hc + death

death doesn’t bother casey anymore. because after losing his parents, he made himself stop hurting. and now, death is nothing, it’s CASUAL. everyone dies, and some people deserve to die early. some don’t deserve to die so early, but it’s still death. and that’s something you can’t change. there’s only one death he’s not ready for. 

and it hit him HARD when he saw that limp body in karen’s arms.

hc + happiness

casey, contrary to popular belief (and his own belief), CAN be happy. but he not only has to let himself, but he has to open himself up just a little bit. he knows both of this, but still, he keeps himself open to calder just the slightest bit. he’s one of the only ones casey can open up to in any form. so when calder stops sounding like he hates him, when he says “congratulations”, it’s one of the rare, genuinely happy moments. the smile is real, it’s not a grin, it’s not ANGRY. it’s not MANIPULATING. it’s just him being thankful he still has his brother without having to use threats. and that’s when he’s happy.

hc + anger

there’s an obvious root of casey’s anger. he never was exactly the most calm child, but he was close with calder. he was so rarely the reason his brother cried. and once he turned ten, he learned to handle his anger a little better. there were only three years of that-- because once their parents died, all hell broke loose. calder suddenly didn’t know how to ease his brother’s anger, because none of the old tricks worked. little hand made things meant nothing, just being there meant nothing, nothing meant anything anymore. and just as much as calder did, casey hated it. because he didn’t know what to do. but by the time he turned fifteen, he learned to love it and rely on it. without his anger, casey has no idea where he would be. without his anger, casey wouldn’t be alone.

hc + sleep

casey doesn’t sleep well, often, or comfortably. more often than not, he falls asleep in a chair or something after a few cigarettes and a lot of unwanted thinking. of course, when he’s not alone, he sleeps easier, but he likes to make himself lonely. so rather than sleep comfortably, casey chain smokes himself into a restless, short sleep. he can’t sleep too long, anyway; he has things to do.

oh, that’s how he knows he has EXACTLY what he wants. ‘don’t tell ___’. it’s the perfect fill-in-the-blank saying that he has whoever he’s talking to in the palm of his hand. he’s going to have full control of the situation in no time, because once this kid gets to see ADRIAN, he’s never going back. he’s going to be DEPENDENT. “why would i tell anyone? CONFIDENTIALITY, kid. i don’t out my customers and they come back. now come on, first two hits are FREE.”
