...of a completely average human
I wake up with a headache. I feel more tired than I ever had in my life. I look over and my wife is getting dressed. I feel like the luckiest guy on Earth...
Until I try to get up. Suddenly everything sucks again. I look over at the clock: 6:50 AM. I have twenty minutes. I go to the bathroom, brush my teeth. Back in my bedroom, I make the bed and I get dressed. 7:00 AM. I have ten minutes.
I go over to the kitchen where my wife is already eating her breakfast. I look over in the corner of the wall: a cockroach. My oldest enemy. I quickly grab a shoe and try to smash it. It is much faster than me and it runs away. Another battle lost. I grab a bowl and pour some cereal and milk in it and sit down.
Like every morning, I scroll through Instagram while eating my cereal. By the time I'm done, it is time to go. I grab my backpack, and make sure the air conditioner is turned up to save electricity. I make sure the door is locked on my way out and wonder why I always lock it. No one would try to break in to the smallest house on such a quiet neighborhood. I double check that it's locked.
I unlock the car and my wife puts her stuff in the trunk and I do the same. I open the hood of the car. Fill up the coolant that always leaks. We get in the car and drive off.
My wife and I talk as I'm trying to stay awake. She says she slept well, on the other hand, I didn't really. Somehow we get all green lights. Victory! I drop her off and give her a kiss. While driving away, I put on a podcast on my phone.
By now I am decently awake. But not really that awake. Someone is going ten under the speed limit so I honk. They don't go any faster. I finally pass them. Another victory! And then I get stuck in traffic. I get stuck behind all the parents trying to drop their kids off at one of the four schools that I drive by on my way to work.
I start worrying about my car heating up. It does that if I'm stuck in traffic for too long. I finally get past the traffic. Two minutes before getting to the office, I get stuck behind a school bus that is picking up kids. Gosh, I hate schools. I finally get to the office and find parking. The car made it and I am five minutes late. Victory...?
I get in the office and my boss isn't there. I start doing the usual stuff that I do. Fast forward to thirty minutes before I can leave. I am out of things to do. I get on Tumblr and start writing that story that I wanted to write. Thirty minutes later, I am writing this sentence to finish my story.
