damn, august already? before i even blink school will be back in session. i suppose it’s time to get out of summer vacation mode and start creating my lesson plan, but i’d rather do it on the beach.
i could never be a teacher, despite a lot of people telling me i should. i tutored people forever. but the whole idea of parents blaming me for their kids grades scared me off from doing anything like that. what do you teach?
honestly, fuck my co workers. someone stole the last of my weed during break. that’s why I don’t leave that shit hole for more than five minutes at a time, tops.
lesson to learn: always keep your valuables on your person. i don’t even use the locker my work provides me. i don’t need to know anyone can pick that and steal my shit.
does anyone else look at kid’s artwork and force a smile onto their face to tell them it’s great? or am i the odd one out in this? sure, the colors are bright and creative, but it’s one big weird line shape. apparently it was a “cute kangaroo” since that’s what she learned in day camp today--about kangaroos and koalas. i just nodded and pretended like it was the best thing since van gogh.
my daughter thought it would be funny to stick in some joke cake orders in the bin. i swear, if i didn’t know her handwriting well enough by now, i’d actually have thought someone wanted a cake that said “hsm 3 was the best of the series, fight me”. and then that would lead to a whole why would someone need that on a cake? discussion. there’s about a half dozen of those joke things in the garbage now.
ugh, gross. i knew i turned off notifications on social media for a reason. i just scrolled through my insta dms for basically a minute and saw about three dick pics. so not what i wanted to see when i woke up from a nap. do people seriously think that’s what i’m looking for? it’s nasty.
y’know i saw this little girl running around a book shop today holding a copy of my book and i about passed out. she was telling anyone who would listen that ever since story time at her day camp read it, she thought it was the best book ever and that everyone needs to read her favouritest book. that made my day, week, year, and lifetime. i can die happily now.

honor was the youngest of two by nine years. she always loved the lifestyle she lived, going on vacations whenever she wanted and seeing the world in a new light. but she didn’t love the fact that she never got to see her parents due to their occupation.
she never said anything about that, but she always wanted to. the day her parents left on their last trip she got into an argument with them and she never saw them again.
the plane crash destroyed her, and honor rebelled and continued to focus on herself more than anything else. she wanted to spend time with her sister, but she didn’t want to connect with her either. she’s still afraid that her sister will turn into their parents and stop spending time with her.
due to her feeling so detached from her parents world, she resisted going to college and joining in the business. instead, honor travelled around the world on her own for a while. of course, she always had her family’s money and connections to fall back on. and despite the fact that she still lives at home, she’s decided to work on her own and for her own enjoyment. she’s an all around secretary at the high school--hopping between the main office, nurse’s office, and the guidance councilors.
honor loves working for her own money. but she also worries that it will make her sister want her to take her back to work for the company. but she wants to be able to choose if she wants to go and work for her family’s company. however, until then she attempts to keep her family’s background a secret so that no one pressures her for her money and connections.

giselle grew up in a fabulously wealthy home. her parents ran a successful business investment company and continued to gain a bigger and better reputation over the years. giselle was given whatever she wanted from a young age--trips to the italian coast, sailing in the greek islands, exploring the jungles of south america. anything giselle wanted, she got.
she felt the pressure from a young age to be the best she could be. giselle wanted to please her parents. they gave her everything, so all she wanted to do was to make them happy. she wanted to make sure that they would be proud of her in anything that she did. which is probably why she wound up starting a career in business when she went off to university.
just as she was going into her second year of college her parents were in a plane crash. both of them died upon impact and nineteen year old giselle became in charge of both her little sister and her family business. both of which she had no idea how to handle. what did she know about running a multi billion dollar empire? or being a mother?
to this day, giselle takes more of a back seat in running the corporation. she’s the behind the scenes face, not letting herself be seen on the cover of their magazine, newsletter, or even their adds. she runs things, but she also knows that she does better when she’s not being pressured to be perfect, so keeping herself out of the light helps.
she still lives with her younger sister honor in a big house, and she thinks it’s still her job to care for honor in the way she believes is best. she wants to make sure that honor has something good in her life and is doing the best that she can and trying everything she wants (even if it means failing at times).
giselle rarely has a moment to herself, but she wants to spend more time on her own. she’s been taking vacations on her own a lot lately, really exploring the world with a new set of eyes. seeing the world for what it could be. she loves feeling connected to the world and people around her and learning all about new lifestyles and cultures.

zeke is a fucking nerd. genius level smart. like photographic memory and all that. he skipped a couple grades and wound up starting high school at age 9. when he was younger he had a stutter because he was made fun of for being so lil and in high school. after he graduated high school, at age 13, he went off to university right away, getting accepted to yale. he’s an ivy grad and was a dual major in psychology and literature with minors in astronomy and sociology. zeke overloaded her course schedule like 4 times but still managed to graduate uni with a high GPA at 17. after that he got his masters in forensics and criminology, due to being on the watch list for the government for some time. when they contacted him with a job offer, he’s already known it was coming and had thought it through many times. he decided to accept, thinking it was better to be inside than being watched on the outside. zeke likes people, but due to his past and how young he was during different periods, he doesn’t quite know how to properly interact with people. also he doesn’t know when to shut up. he’s stubborn and loves to be right, always putting his two cents in.

willow’s an only child, but she always wanted a big family. her parents were very loving and they always wanted more kids, but couldn’t due to her mother’s heart condition. it was difficult with willow, actually. she was born two months early. her mother had a heart condition and had been told that she couldn’t have children (at least, it would be difficult and possibly life threatening) so having willow was a blessing.
anyway willow always loved life. like she was a sunshine girl who loved life and being alive. she wanted to be everyone’s best friend growing up. she loved puppies and cats and her parents adopted a couple. she always gave them weird names like “mrs snuggles” and “mr whisk”.
she was such a little lady growing up. like proper and everything. she wore a tiara for a few months when she was 9. it stopped when people made fun of her. but she still has that tiara and keeps it just in case. sometimes she’ll put it on to make her feel better about herself.
she went to college to study creative writing, and wound up writing a children’s book along the way. she never expected it to get published or anything, since she wrote it for her best friend’s kid, but it got published and she’s still writing children’s books.

vince started off doing beauty pageants at a young age. his mother was one of those pageant moms who was controlling and wanted people to love her son. vince was a child actor, after being discovered in one of his pageants. he did a couple of commercials and guest spots before landing a career as a model.
being an only child to a single mom vincenzo was always close with his mother, but she continually pressured him to go the extra mile and he developed an eating disorder after being told too many times that the camera adds ten pounds. when he was sixteen he was put in rehab after falling down on a runway and hitting his head. when he was in the hospital they discovered how malnourished he was kept in a rehab center for a while.
when he was released from rehab he took a break from his career in attempt to focus on himself. his mother began fighting with him constantly to go back to modeling, and he pushed back on her. he found out she’d been hiding money from him and keeping it for herself. he took her to court and got emancipated, getting all his money back that she’d taken over the years.
after working on his own for a while, vince has been able to get his life back on track. he’s been modeling regularly, and seeing a therapist about his issues. he doesn’t love talking about a lot of what he’s been through, the emotional abuse from her mother, but sometimes he does talk about recovering from his eating disorder.

tasmin was an orphan when she was born. originally to be put up for adoption, the parents who were to adopt her never showed. she was put in an orphanage and from there into the foster care system. she moved around quite a lot when she was younger, and that lead to her running away when she was sixteen. she never really felt “home” anywhere, and didn’t mind that. so, at sixteen, she packed up her belongings and moved away. she went all over. peru, vienna, mongolia, hawaii, london, florence, berlin. she never stayed in any place for too long, not wanting to make attachments and get her heart broken. she’s never had a serious relationship of any kind. to be honest, the only reason she’s even somewhat settled is because she found a cute little bungalow type house ( after moving around so long she needed a home somewhere ). she still has the travel bug, but can satisfy her needs with talking about all her travels.

growing up in texas, steve was always told that football was like a lifestyle. and he believed it. he didn’t know anything else. he even started playing when he was little. and he was good. for a kid, he was good. but then as he got older he got stronger and better. and he became the strongest player to ever play on the JV league in his school. he was recruited right out of college and has been playing ball since as far back as he can remember. he even talks about how some of his earliest memories are him playing football with his brothers and neighbors in the yard.
due to an injury, steven has been forced to no longer play. he went pro for almost three years, but now he helps with a high school team and works in the business side of the sports world. he’s been enjoying it, since despite not being able to play he likes being able to work in the sports world still.

shiloh was bullied in elementary school. she lived with her great aunt and had moved around a lot before that. she was awkward and clumsy and had huge glasses. an easy target for bullies.
the summer before 4th grade she learned how to throw a punch. just before 8th grade began she began to develop. now, not only could she kick ass, but she definitely had more reasons to do so.
while she was kind of a loner throughout school, she always stood up for anyone who was being bullied. shiloh hated thinking anyone was helpless, or at least that she couldn’t help anyone. so she would often step in for the bullied kids and help them out. she got a reputation of being a helper, despite being a loner.
when she went to college she was working on training on her own and discovered boxing. she’s not as talented as everyone else she’s fought or been around, but she’s confidently working on her skills and wants to be better.

raquel loves writing, in fact she’s always done it. she’s kept a detailed diary every year since she was nine years old. she keeps them hidden in her closet and doesn’t tell anyone they’re actually there. but she loves writing in them. she’s an organizational freak. a journalist, but despite her drive and desire to write hard hitting news her boss keeps giving her fluff pieces. has never left town for more than a short time, and only to places in the state. she wants to explore the world and does so vicariously through books.
raquel is an only child. her parents only had one child due to their hectic work schedules. raquel’s parents are a doctor and researcher. they both enjoy research and detailed work on everything and wish that their daughter was more serious and focused on science than writing, even if she’s more interested in the factual and hard hitting journalism than the fluff pieces she continues to write.
