Elio Domenico Imperiali Fieschi - aka GENOA

&&. announcing his grace, ( Elio Domenico Imperiali Fieschi ), the ( 25 ) year old ( duke ) of ( Genoa ). he is often confused with ( Archie Renaux ). some say that he is ( selfish & calculating ), but he is actually ( charming & loyal ). 

anyways you know the vibes. likes and I’ll come plot or write you a started if we already talked. :)

First things first- he’s called a lot of things.

Unless you are family or meet him before highschool it’s very likely you met him as Genoa. He went to a military academy for highschool and this boy’s last name is to long so they started calling him Genoa and it stuck till now.

Elio he only uses for professional situations really 

His mom and her family called him Eli and his dad and great grandpa called him Domi growing up. But it’s unlikely he would like other people to call him that. 

why is he here? After the kidnappings ( and Verona having been a target ) the Italians are getting better security specially military surveillance. He’s managing the team since his family connection to the crown is long and their loyalty is well established. Plus Ale can vouch for him. 

Ok backstory!

He was based around the Pygmalion myth - he’s the statue and his parents are Pygmalion. 

His parents had a very intense romance that fizzled out very quickly - they were separated before he could walk. So he always grew up with two very strong nurture points. 

He lived full time with his dad and great grandpa however - both military men, and so he was always a boys boy. 

He does love his mom and vó a lot tho - his mom was born in Mozambique to a half Goan family. His grandpa on that side died when he was young. 

So he’s always had a very strong masculine presence at home and the a very strong matriarchal feminine presence in his mothers house. 

As a kid-teen he was very adaptable - he would could friends with everyone. He went to public school in Genoa until highschool where he switched to the military academy. His father was always very attentive that he would be able to related to people from all walks of life while also being the best among them. 

On the other hand his mom was all about instilling in him a sense of opportunity. A lot how he sees relationships (romantic or platonic) comes from his mom. She was always trying to tell him he should keep in mind that all in life is a trasaction and that people could be useful to him and he could be useful to others and playing that game well is how he would go far. 

He did a bunch of sports during his youth - polo, horse show jumping, football, lacross, rugby, swimming, ect. The one thing is that he always had to be the best at all he did.

His father and great grandpa were very military like druing his youth and now - he had a very strick routine, he had to out perform in all he did, ect.

he likely has not awaken up later than 6am ever in his life. 

They were also very loyal to the Italian crown so - this boy is a little brainwashed. 

He’s religious in the sense that he goes to mass every sunday and priests, bishops, ect are like important figures to him but ask him his thoughts on god is like - 0 thoughts head empty. does he believe? It does’t matter that’s simply how you do things.

This is a theme in his life you will see.

Meet Ale in the airforce - ( chose the airforce because his mother commented how befriending the prince could be nice ) they get along very well. There’s a sort of relationship he has with the people he went to war with he has with no one else - even those he doesn’t particularly like. 

Since joining the army he’s becoming less adaptable tho - his mom does not appreciate it. He’s becoming more set in his ways and more and more like his dad. The fluidity that she tried to instil in him is being lost.

He’s also been growing more serious has his responsibilities both in the army and in Genoa grow.

Leonor backstory

He first saw Leonor at some party or royal function around 2016ish and sort of immediately decided she would make the perfect wife.

Perfect wife: royal but not to the point that would create a problem with putting Genoa and Italy first in the future, Pretty, Not really in the press - a private person, charming and well liked. 

He went into it a lot like how he went into his friendship with Ale, with an idea of how it would turn out and a goal in mind.

Problem: unlike with Ale his relationship with Leonor was all but easy from the start. The perfect wife on paper had little in common with him.

So it started with little lies, favourite color, or food. Then he tried to share hobbies with her, things he had no interest in. Soon enough he was finding himself creating memories he never experienced. Traumatic childhood moments she really liked hearing about and relating to but that he didn’t quite understand how someone would feel so deeply over something so miniscule. 

But it worked - for a while. 

Ale caught on, how he was off around Leonor. How their stories never matched - but he’s to nice to not back him up in front of her.

Leonor ends up finding out by overhearing them discuss how he needed to be more genuine around her. Why he would want a relationship where he had to be a completely different person. The perfect wife is not a good answer it seems. 

They break up. He’s a little heart broken - for the relationship. For the time he’s lost. He enjoyed his time with Leonor, even if he didn’t particularly enjoy all her quirks. He’ll survive it. 

The break up he can deal with. The aftermath he’s not ready for. 

She tells her family - and her family are very happy to tell anyone who will listen. 

He’s enraged that his good name is being dragged through the mud over something he sees has normal. Sure he went a little far with all the lies. But he saw a future for them so it was fine.

But they’re painting him as someone after her money or title, someone bellow them. And he hates it.

Most people who have known him for long enough notice it but he doesn’t see it as weird so he doesn’t really tell people. But he has streamlined his wardrobe to be 100% black and have only enough items for a full week of wear. minimalist king <3.

“I’d say we’re in a pretty equal skill level that it would depend in a bunch of variables. We’re about the same height, he’s had more practice in hand to hand but i’d probably have a advantage with resistance. You start going into injuries, mood, concentration, ect at that point. Sort of pointless to try and predict it. I have no need to sit here and puff out my chest and claim my superiority with a colleague and friend.” he hardly needed the ego boost in a place where 99% of the people wouldn’t get close to either of them. @mvrcellc

“working class?” he mouths to Romero who is doing his best not to laugh at him. Asshole. Like Elio’s family funds couldn’t probably by half of Hungary if they really wanted to. Maybe he would get Mimi to get the whole thing as his Christmas present. Elio hopes he chocks on his own spit. He turns to look in front of him again after it. He would be lying if he said he didn’t much prefer his current role over being in this program as a pretty accessory. At least he was somewhat useful this way. What did the dukedom of Genoa matter to 95% of these people? He knocks his hand into Romero’s as he walks over to the couple, a polite smile on his face as he bows to the blonde “Your highness.” @olimpiacroy​

He’s expecting a visit for Ale when he opens the door but the surprise is a good one. He leans against the frame smile down at Gwen “Neighbor.” the greeting is accompanied by the tipping of a non existing hat “Oh- thanks.” he grabs the bottle from her motioning her inside “You shouldn’t have really - but thank you.” he puts the things down on the counter cleaning his hands off the condensation on his pants before he gives her a kiss on each cheek as greeting. “I don’t know if my Mimosa skills are still up to par but sit down. I’ll see what I can do.”

she made a face before bursting into laughter, it was definitely one of the more unexpected things that she’s ever been asked. “do i look like mi6 to you?” ireti threw a look behind her shoulder at the door, half hoping that the couple would just stumble out. “i know jelani is pretty dumb, but he’s not dumb enough to leave his door unlocked at a party.” besides, she really didn’t want to see what he’s hiding behind those doors. “but if you just need to pee… my house is literally next door. i have a bathroom.” she leant her back onto the opposing wall, looking at him through half-lidded eyes. “unless you want to kick that door down and see what those guys were up to… or, i dunno, pee in a cup?” 

He chuckled at her response shaking his head “Look - you never know” he defended himself. “ Well that’s a pity - would be very useful right now if he was that dumb.” he commented, already resigning himself into either annoying the couple until they went home or going home himself. He looks back at her when she offers. “Wouldn’t want to impose.” he says automatically but as she voices the options he cringes. “Sure you wouldn’t mind?”

Yet is as promising as it is disappointing. “Mhm,” over 72 hours had passed. His focus is drawn back to their frat furnishings, surveying the decor for a prolonged moment.“Well if she does happen to stop by, shoot my assistant a text. I’d hate to be an impromptu guest.” Like now, with a shirtless Duke in the foyer. “Or if they step out together. They’ll need proper oversight since Verona was targeted.” –Well within Elio’s scope of practice. It made sense and as so, is an order, “it’s a small ask. I hope you can be discreet?” 

“Yes your highness.” he replies immediately to the order. If Ale and his blonde did step out it was more likely than not that Elio would either be the one surveying them or sending someone. But it was not his place to question the prince’s orders or wishes. “Of course your highness.” he says again. Is Giovanni saying this for his conscience or Elios? It’s hard to say. But they don’t pay him to think, they pay him to do.

“Should I?” he asks lifting a brow “Now that i’ve been threatened this sounds like it qualifies as propriety damage. I mean- it’s not me that’s the problem. But the Italian royal family?” he shakes his head with a grin “Your highness this is starting to sound like a dangerous game.” he jokes.
