female gaze and anything related to the female experience and womanhood are very important to me in art (one of the reasons why I love to genderbend my favorite ships so much). and the images of "bad" mothers, "wrong" mothers, "blamed" mothers are extremely important to me in this regard—the thought of probable postpartum depression and lifelong regrets about not having/being able to have an abortion makes me seek compassion even for the most horrific women. such things are not usually discussed, and so a mother's hatred of her own child seems to me a very complex and multi-layered topic
