One of these things is not like the other...
i mean, everyone understands there are cultural differences between races, right?
we get that there are things children grow up with in a black household that are different than those in a white household, yes?
that the traditions and practices in an Asian household have certain things that are common that may not adhere to the average Mexican family.
taking your shoes off before entering the house, how you speak to elders, how children are punished, how food is prepared, etc.
of course these things will vary from family to family, household to household, and from individual to individual. but, i think it's safe to say Black Americans know what a cookout is vs. a picnic. it's just how things are done, it's what we learned.
these differences teach/condition us and shape who we are as adults. what we think, say, and do are shaped by the cultures we grew up in. sure, we're all Americans, but we are different.
doesn't it stand to reason that white people too have common white cultural norms?
speaking about White American culture, those regular activities and traditions also include white supremacy. it's just how things are done and have been done. it's how White American culture evolved.
White Americans need to really think about how they grew up, what they learned, what they were exposed to in the home to get a better grasp of how exactly white supremacy functions in society.
before leaping to "I'm not racist!" learn how you learned to be racist. the same way some small children learn to take their shoes off when entering the house, white people learned things like meritocracy, and hate breeds hate, and there's only one race the human race, and all variety of white-supremacist thinking and denial.
